Show taped December 1982
This is the full episode where Bob Barker gets an ovation from the crowd at the beginning. I've posted snippets of the show here in the past, but since freemantle seems OK with fans posting full shows I throw this one up since It's gotten a lot of comments

0:08 I love it when Gina smiles and waves at the opening, she used to sit in that same seat from around 1979 until May 1984 (still on the show as of today). At the time she helped with the contestant selection process and told the people who didn't win the one-bid between acts what to do and what not to do, among other things.

This would become a trademark of the show upon every entrance he made over the next 25 years he hosted.

That was the type of 10 Chances playing that gets both the studio and home audiences into total hysterics. By this airing, ANY regular TPIR viewer should know the 10C zero rule! And Marie would've won the car easily if she observed it. Instead, the audience hysterics was the only reason she won the range. I admit, I would've been just as loud, even though the show's taped in advance and the studio is 3000 miles away from me.

I started watching him in 1982, which was 5 years before he went grey. When he first appeared with grey hair it was a huge deal, very few emeccs at the time went with the grey hair. Alan Ludden comes to mind, but that might have been it.
