TR #31: Why you should NEVER BUY a New Kohler Wellworth / Highline Class 5 Toilet (or any Class 5) 

If they started putting flappers in again they would be good

Kohler is actively trying to see how horribly they can design their toilets and have people still buy them. I have seen and collected enough of them to know all their strengths and weaknesses. They are awful at the one job they're meant for and trying to replace the parts will make you want to break something. Pretty much the only thing I like about these is the appearance (aside from the ugly long base), build quality, and the fill valve. When I dissected one of these that was made in 2017, I discovered a MAJOR design failure that causes the rinse to be so bad. I'll send some pictures on Discord of my new one and show pictures of all its problems.

Honestly it's getting to the point where I have more faith in contractor/budget toilets than name brands like AS and Kohler. And that's sad

I replaced the AquaPiston in mine over a year ago (since the tip of the canister broke off when I tried replacing the fill valve on it), and it works great! When it had the AquaPiston, I just held the handle down after using it.

Moral of the story, don’t buy Kohler toilets with the aqua pisssTon. As for this toilet, it’s alright. Not the best. Good thing they redesigned them.

That's clASS 5 for us. The design-wise are okay but the functions wasn't on-par besides the normal flappers. And to be completely honest, I think there are different class fives and revolution 360 variants out there that can succeed in comparison than these typical designs but not much of the fact that it still gets some backstabbers though.

This is exactly why I don’t want the Kohler Wellworth/ Kohler Highline class 5 in my house, the design is nice and all but the aquapiston in this toilet made me say no. I really don’t like the Glacier Bay trapway style this toilet has and the flush it has is “what kind of flush is that?” I’m not surprised if this toilet clogs on certain items such as toilet paper or paper towels. My Proflo toilet can do so much better than this Wellworth/clASS five, glad I stayed absolutely far away from this toilet

This is why if I install a new toilet, a FV will be my only choice.

Is Kohler the next Briggs? I think they make more money on gas generators than they do on toilets anymore. A Briggs is 1/2 the price of the Kohler and would probably give similar performance...

These toilets are very stupid! They should resume the Ingenium Toilets.
