I’m just a novice collector and your show really helps. Lots of great advice. I enjoy the “Leaders” cards because those on a smaller budget can still have a chance to have a Mantle, Mays, Clemente others in our collection. Thanks!

Totally agree about the the Fatima team cards. They are great! There are some really neat team postcards too. Just picked up a 1906 V.O. Hammon Publishing postcard of the Chicago White Sox.

First off, great show! This was my first time listening and I really enjoyed it. Second, I’m going to apologize for the long comment. That Team Card was one of the best I’ve ever seen. I had never heard of the Fatima Cigarette cards, but there are so many old, old sets, it’s difficult to know them all. I’m not really a fan of team cards, but if they were all similar to that, I think I’d be more interested. I have collected since the 80s. I stopped in the mid 90s before starting up again in 2012. Then again, I stopped in 2020 when the price craze went up. I have since returned and began collecting vintage only. It has been a learning experience, as vintage is a brand new experience to me. Needless to say, I love it! I have zero interest in modern cards anymore. With all this being said, I am a collector. Period. Once I have something, I never sell it. There was a time when I just gave stuff away if it was my PC. I didn’t care about losing our on money. I felt no connection to it and was glad to add to someone else’s PC, even though I could have used the money myself. I’ve found with vintage, that I really don’t have a PC. I just collect what I can. It seems as though every day this gets modified a little. There’s no doubt I dove in and just started going after stuff because I had nothing and wanted something. Now, I am trying to be a little more calculated. Listening to shows such as yours and some others has made my transition to vintage so much easier. I love listening to advice and stories from people that have been in this hobby. It’s not easy to find local people that are in the hobby and just talk about the hobby. I’ve actually met a couple who didn’t want to talk about their collection. Anyway, thanks for what you do and the content. Will be one of my must listen shows.

Vintage is a fun rabbit hole to jump into…take your time with it. Discovering and learning about that era of cards is sometimes more fun than acquiring the cards themselves. Thx for tuning in !

To me the Fatima team card is much more desirable than the Topps team cards. Another budget friendly team card is the 1947-66 Exhibit team cards. The 1949 card of the 1948 Cleveland Indians clearly shows Satchel Paige, Larry Doby, Bob Feller and the Dodgers with Jackie and Campy, Yankees with Mantle, DiMaggio and all the greats etc. I concur about why I produce content, the enjoyment, giving back to a hobby I love. Looking forward to your spots on Sports Card Live. I enjoy collecting Exhibit cards, the only company that produced cards from 1921-66 consecutively, many look at it as an obscure set, postcard set, dull black and white, but I'm down the rabbit hole with Exhibits and love it.

I also love Exhibit team cards…and some of them are actually quite tough to get bc they were only produced during certain years. Thx for tuning in here and on Jeremy’s show !

That Fatima card is huge, in more ways than one. Would you know that was Shoeless Joe if his name wasn't above his head?
