Founded in 2006 by Leighton Sheldon, Just Collect, Inc. has been buying and selling vintage sports cards for over a decade. Every week, we will bring you an inside look at the collections we purchase. We are excited to read your feedback.
L, I would reach out to Topps. These would be great to create a card focused on "finds" with cut signatures. Would be cool to see a story behind some of these "cuts". I personally am not a fan of cut signatures like from a check for groceries of a player, but these where they sent away for them to the players is where a story of the find comes in. -Arnie ✌🏽🇺🇸⚾️ @topps @vintagebreaks
Someone with deep pockets needs to make a company that only authenticates labels and encapsulates a card, grading is a joke, a scam, I resent a 7 and got a 9
A discreet pinhole is a-okay with me. And a touch of paper loss or a small mark on the back are hobby cheat codes to my collection! Thanks for another good video.
Ive built my collection on pin holes and paper loss: 1963 Alworth (paper loss) 1935 Hinkle (Pin hole) These are cards I would neve never ever dreamed of owning, but I can have a piece of football history because I am more than fine with those blemishes! Great episode as always!
I guess to me there is a difference between a major flaw visible on the front (tack holes) and one that is only seen on the back (paper loss from scrapbooking or whatever). Both drive the grade down to a 1, but the card with the flaw on the reverse has better front eye appeal. I'll take that one. Man, but that Satch is tempting, though. I wish that one had the paper loss rather than the tack holes.
Hi Lee, I am not all hockey, I've been collecting baseball, basketball and football for 40 years. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the show. Although you must've not watched the whole thing as I showed one of my baseball cards at the end - A Honus Wagner from 1910.

I started in '57 as a 8 year old boy. Kept collecting straight through 1986. I opened a shop then and I used my collection as inventory. Closed shop in '99. Went to become a seller on Ebay until 2016 at age 67. Now retired so I do some collecting and dealing in modern cards. I made lot of $ on cards. Lost a bunch also at times. Had a lot of fun. Most fun was when I opened a pack of '57s and found my first Mantle card. That was a great pull for an 8 year old!
I've known Gary for about 40 years. He owned a card store here in the Riverside neighborhood of Buffalo. He was always so friendly, knowledgeable and helping of young collectors. There's probably no one in the industry as nice as him. His collection is mind blowing.
@@leightonsheldon9469 oh yes. He was a great owner. He helped me find cards I needed. Was very fair and he still is. I see him at the local shows in town. We live in the same Buffalo suburb.
The background music is way too loud, especially when the interviewee doesn’t have a microphone. It’s extremely difficult to hear and distracting. Otherwise, great video.
PSA should have “ hot keys” for graders that allows them to quickly provide feedback/reason why the card was graded the way it was Lord knows they have the card for 2-3 months. They can add a few keystrokes.
"Our company" ... "Our offices" ... Is there anyone in your company who can accompany you on these trips to assess really large collections efficiently? Such as, you deal with the graded cards and he deals with the raw cards, or whatever the division of labor. Or is it more of a one-man show?
