Apparently when they split the granit for Edinburgh Castle, they’re drill only had one battery so it was much harder I was told by an archaeologist that the holes were drilled with a bow and pole, like a fire starter, using sand as an abrasive to drill the holes, each of which took several days
Here in Perth, Aus, we had Elizabeth Quay built a few years ago and there was over 1 million granite sets laid for all the pathways. All came in from China.
There is 8.000 tons of Granite blocks in the Great Pyramid . Some weigh over 70 tons each ........ Nearly 5.000 years old , get your head around that . 👍🏴
Pennine walling hammer you have there. Basically the only hand tool you need for a sandstone dry stone wall, except sometimes a sledge hammer/stone axe for breaking big lumps.
