That would be Pictures at 11. Mr. Robbie Blunt on lead guitar. It is still one of my all time favorite CD's. God bless Mr. Robert Plant. He is still the very best vocalist and writers of our time. Sincerely, Bill Wiggins
I lost my son, Jesse on January 30,2015. He was the joy & light of my life. It is a devastating experience to go through & I would never wish it upon anyone or dismiss it as something you should “get over”. It changes you but love for your child never dies. He was a part of me when I was pregnant & he will forever be a part of me. Robert Plant’s tragedy & the reluctance to return to LZ is completely understandable. Also understandable is his sadness at the loss of his best friend who stood by him through all of that. He was lucky to have the gift of such a loyal & supportive friend (I’ve had to go it alone) but then to lose him too! So very sad. Bless him.
Well said. I lost my only child when he was just 16 months old. We never "get over it." It's such an insult when people say that. I'm sorry for your loss.
Oh, Robert ... he had to go through so many terrible things... Still he's managed to remain a great person..Thank you for being such a gift to this world, Planty ❤
I understand that. I would love be to his personal assistant. I don't think I could get it all done in one day. He has been an Icon for me for over 50 years.
I know this video was about Plant but ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love Jimmy - the Jimmy of the 70's - the most gorgeous man ever born. I was a little girl back then....my Dad took me to all the MSG shows - front row right in front of Jimmy's ZoSo - he was so sweet to me - kisses, winks, hugs.......incredible.
@@Mr.Mehoff55 Jack, without Jimmy there would have been no Led Zeppelin. He was amazing wasn't he? I wish I could go on a time machine and go back to the 70's. One of my friends sent me a picture I think he found on Google images that said: Led Zeppelin.......making all bands since 1968 sound like crap.
The change in vocals between this and that. OK, about 7 or 8 years ago I'm listing to a radio interview with Plant, and he admitted those early high notes were him and the sound engineers playing with the tapes. You didn't hear him do that in concert, ever. And yet generation of aspiring rock singers spent hours in the washroom, trying to get their voices as high as what they thought Plant's was. Such a depressing thought.
Early on the black crowes opened for Aerosmith. Chris Robinson did an interview where he ripped Tyler for having tracks keyed for certain songs where he had high notes involved. Chris also ripped Plant and said. Its all me singing. I dont need tricks. Well, Chris got a call personally from Plant and Tyler. Basically telling him to shut up and dont tell secrets. My friend they all do it. Its called "SHOW BUSINESS". U hear what u see.
@Base Ball , awe, you got me. And I was making so much money, scamming people into thinking I heard a Robert Plant radio interview. Guess I'll just have to go back to working IT.
@Base Ball , I have a real name, I'm committed. You don't. You post and immediately give yourself a thumbs up. I never. Time to grow up, buddy. Time to give up the trolling, give the basement back to mom and get on with your life. John Bonham would want you to.
As a teenager i was stunned to see Robert & Jimmy walking thru Perris Hill Park in San Bernardino, Calif. As they passed i said OMG! You look like Led Zeppelin the band...Rober turned and said 'we are! I had a ticket to see them at the Orange Pavillion two days. later! Great Moment! I cant quir u baby...so im gonna have to put u down for awhile🎶🎵🎶🎵
So Plants life has been like a lot of us The only difference I wasn't a millionaire being a rock guitarist That God I had a real job Im 70 now widowed and virtually bedridden with a bad back and a fuzzy head etc . Life can be cruel
Robert Plant ist my favorite. He was the sexies man in the seventies years. I have a tatto from Robert on my arm. He ist the best singer from all the rockgroups. I Love you Robert 💓
It must be said that Robert Plant was far more than the lead vocalist of Zeppelin. He wrote most of the lyrics and most of the melodies for Zep's catalog. Jimmy would play a guitar part for him and Robert would take it from there. This represents an enormous contribution to Led Zeppelin. Robert and Jimmy were magic together, and equally important to the songwriting process.
Don't forget Robert Plant's work with Alison Krauss! Their album, "Raising Sand," is my all-time favorite genre-spanning album on the popular-music side! T-Bone Burnett was in there too.
Takes me back to my youth when everything was magic . Robert and ZEPPELIN always have gave me a sort of melancholy feeling for all the people and places from times in life starting from only ten years old sitting in my brothers car listening to my favorite band of all time.
@@jessperry3869 Well Robert Plant in the prime of his life lost his son and then his best mate drummer , John Bonham. Although he had fame and fortune Robert had great personal loss.Think of that side when you listen to Led Zeppelin young lady.
As someone who has had a child pass away, i can certainly understand him being willing and ready to just leave the life you have behind entirely. It's something you may never get over, I certainly have never gotten over the loss of my daughter. It changed me forever, and though life goes on, I think about her every day at least once. I'm certain the loss of his son, and then one of his closest friends, has had profound effects on Robert.
I'm sorry. I remember, way back when, reading about the death of Robert's son. I was not then a parent, but am human, and was deeply saddenned. Since then, I've had the joy of parenthood, combined with the sad loss of friends' children. Having seen, in some respects, what you've gone through, I still cannot truly fathom the depth of your loss!
I think that only someone who has lost a child really has an idea what it does to a person’s psyche. I’m sorry you lost your daughter. I am also in that club of surviving parent.
I love Presence because it showed a lot of evolution in their sound. What’s striking to me is how all of their albums have a unique atmosphere. They never copied themselves and that’s impressive.
robertanthonyplant7539..... Why you like pretending to be somebody else?! Robert Plant is a great artist and a great man. He's earned his name as a legend! So then a little wanna be comes along trying to steal some of his glory... Very trippy and very weird. Why don't you do something great then we can all celebrate you for you! Cheers!
Thank You Led Zeppelin! Your music was a huge part of my life especially my teen years. I Love You & your music will always be played !!! Also led zep 2 fav. Album !!!
Led Zeppelin has had such a profound impact on my life! One may think, "Oh, they're just a rock band. How could they have a major impact on someone's life? " I'll tell you how... I first discovered Led Zeppelin when I was 13 in the early '70's. Not only was their music unbelievable, but the singer was in my naive opinion, the most beautiful man I'd ever seen. Over the following year tried many different psychedelics with the most incredible being while listening to Led Zeppelin IV. When you have a strong acid trip, what occurs during the trip imprints in your mind and soul. So all those worlds and visions on that album were as if real for me. Though I knew they weren't real, I also knew they were, without a doubt, true That trueness continued to assert it³self in my art, I draw and write poetry. The lush presence of Led Zeppelin's lyrics could be felt in much of my work. But I think most of all Robert's dedication to "chasing a feather in the wind" has shaped my commitment to never give up on love. Love will find a :way, you just have to make sure you have the eyes to see it and the heart to leap, when that square inch window of oppórtunity presents itself. (Sorry this turned out so long.)
Oh dear. I'm sure what you're doing has a name as a logics argumentative fallacy, but I can't recall it. You're applying a definition of "to steal" to a behavior that occurred at a time when such a definition did not exist. At that period in time, roughly late 1960's, especially within the domain of blues music much music sharing occurred. Also, despite efforts to identify authors of given music, authors often couldn't be found. I'm not saying this is what happened in Led Zeppelin's case. I'm just saying we can't be too quick to apply labels that developed over time. Especially if that development occurred in the relation to technological advances. Once cassette tapes were widely used, I think we began to pay more attention to discussions of appropriation. Prior to that everyone couldn't own reel to reels and lug them around to shows and events. So I anyhow don't include Led Zeppelin in the category of bands who stole. I mean anyhow music is an artform. Art developes in relation to other artists. They influence each other.
thanks for the part about the one inch square window! so important. and it also matches what Robert said- he called it the Principle of Moments. Every moment counts, things change the future in a moment.
The rock life seems so glamorous, but the sacrifices that some artists and bands go through can be horrific and life-changing. Think Eric Clapton, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, too. But man, THAT HAIR of his was always the epitome of rockstar hair!
We normally envy great idols like him when we are young. But then how foolish it all seems in retrospect. When we learn about their lives we see how very much like everyone else they've been, going through incredible hardships and pain, and yet some of them manage to inspire us with their resilience and ability to overcome. This is the case with this fine chap's life.
To one of the greatest singers of all time remember plant no matter where you go what you do will always love you you're the greatest keep rocking and rolling
I've been a fan of Led Zeppelin since they first started. Love Robert Plant and so sorry for all he has had to endure. John Bonham was a great drummer and a real loss for the music industry. I've heard Jason play and he certainly takes after his father as a drummer. I've only been to one Zeppelin concert when John Bonham was still living and it was fantastic!
I've been a fan from the beginning too! My first concert was seeing Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk Railroad at Public Hall in Cleveland, 1969. I've seen Jason too and the influence is noticeable. 😎✌❤️🎶
Jimmy Page didn't even attend Karac's funeral which made Robert angry. Its why in the song "All of My Love", dedicated to Karac, is not cowritten with Page.
I met Robert when I was 4 or 5 years old. He was visiting my home town of Boothbay Harbor. My father, a musician, had taken me downtown to see him and he was surrounded by a mob people. He saw me at the edge of the crowd in my fathers arms and immediately came towards us parting the crowd of people with his arm and literally pushing one guy away with his hand on his face 🤣 he took my hand and num num’d the back of it while I hid my face with my other hand. He said something like “children are special - cherish your time with them.” He also left town with the wife of one of the locals xD
What a great video. I misjudged the guy. I always thought that he should have given Jason Bonham more of chance to experience Led Zeppelin in the way of a tour. You can see that Robert Plant really had a rough life. I hope that he has found peace, love, and wholeness. He really is a heartfelt person.
There’s nothing tragic about Robert Plant. He’s had some problems in his life like everyone, but he’s lived an awesome life, done huge things and he will die a legend that will live long after him.
Losing a young child is not just "some problems in his life like everyone". While I wouldn't say he's had a tragic life that event was most certainly tragic and would leave its indelible mark on him for the rest of his life.
he has had to overcome some extremely devastating TRAGIC events!!!! those wrinkles on his face are from that and probably drinking too much as a result.
The Rover one never ever forgets their first time meeting a favorite musician still think about it today it’s rather unreal will leave it at that!.... thanks for replying 👍❤️☮️🙀😱

It is strange to hear interviews with him from recent years and also his behaviour after the O2 concert. Led Zeppelin was the biggest part of his life but also a time of his life that held the greatest tragedies. He could have earned so much money and pleased so many people if they had toured after O2 but despite a personal desire to see them perform live I respect that his heart would not be in it and to me his performances with Led Zeppelin are not about an incredible voice, they are about bringing blues, rock, folk and every other genre they experimented with to life with a passion and soul. Thank you Percy for your time with Led Zeppelin.
Everyone has their own memories of who what where when why and how their lives played out during the point in time that this or that music release was played on the radio or attending a concert. In a nut shell we are all richer for having the luxury of hearing the gift of music. I thank you Sir Robert Plant and the various bands in which you have played. I wish that I had the gift of reading writing and playing music. I know longer can sing without being in pain. Bless you Sir. And I am grateful for having been a witness to your musical talent.
I saw him around 20 yrs ago in toronto. He looks just like he does. Theres no other way to say it. But I will say that theres a thing famous people do. They're very aware they're in YOUR line of sight. I notice this because I look at people faces. I remember being astonished on occasion when I've been in the same room with them. Yes, he had a look. He looked terrified as well, ok, that's a bit much ( I dont edit to show thought proces) he looked lime he wanted to be somewhere else.
Hello there, you have a good heart. I guess you must be a great woman with a very great sense of humor and you must have good taste in music too. I will like to get in touch with you 🙏
He has a soul that has been singing to us all these years. I am sending you uplifting vibes Mr. Plant. Funny my youngest son could be your twin at 17. We keep telling him to learn Led Zeppelin songs.
Hello Tammy, you have a good heart. I guess you must be a great woman with a very great sense of humor and you must have good taste in music too. I will like to get in touch with you 🙏
After missing their reunion concert a while back, vowed that if they ever reunite again, wherever they are and wherever I am, I will go to that concert no matter what cost.
I'm shocked to hear that he could have been an accountant. I'm one and have a college degree. I'm also a rocker so I can totally understand him not taking that direction. Rockers move us, but it's the accountants that keep things moving. Add to that I'm a Capricorn too and we keep things moving as well steps ahead of the pack. Just ask the Caps in Zepplin: Page and Jones.😉 Just saying Peace Jas Chicago
Its why he was so close with his son, Logan. Logan said that he would go everywhere with his dad. Logan is the spitting image of Robert but with dark curly locks.
"Presence "was Led Zeppelin's finest album. The track "Achilles Last Stand"is the mighty Zep's most amazing song. The bootleg "live at Knebworth "contains the most outstanding version of this tune. That entire performance was scorching fire and possibly Led Zeppelin's finest hour.✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨
I will now need to hunt down this bootleg album! There's not much I don't adore about him. Finally saw him with the Sensational Space Shifters in 2017. Sounds the same.
Não sabia, tanta tragédia, a morte de um filho, ninguém se consegue colocar no lugar do outro, deve ser uma experiência devastadora, mas o Robert Plant continua, a sua música é eterna, Obrigado Plant ! Keep Save, We love you !
Why are there thumbs down on this video ? People are deranged ! WTF ? Poor Robert Plant , i can relate ,i lost a son too , sounds like he tried to live a good life , it's true money can't replace the loss of a loved one .
Robert Plant has always been musically talented. The surprise is that he is a decent guy with friends and family who has had a successful musical career. I alwys find him to be interesting and try to catch him on podcasts.
He funded a project that his niece and her musician boyfriend run. It’s very well respected, and his niece is an amazing chef. They bought a run down local hotel and turned it into a successful live music venue and bistro. I went to school with the musician, he is a fantastic guy. The place is called The Swan in Stourport On Severn. I took my Australian friend to the grave of John Bonham. He has a lovely plot in the middle of the burial ground at a church in the middle of nowhere. It was a calm and serene place. There were lots of drum sticks propped up on the headstone, along with cymbals.
Sorry wrong Button.. Then assends to correct himself And just seems to have a laff. Spose no1 going to MOAN.. Elastik fingers 🎸when he walks DOWN THE PLANES STEPS. SWAGGER. COOL AS ANYTHING. I THOUGHT PLANTE. GREAT VOCALS 😎LISTENING TO STONES CIRCUS ALBUM AT MOMENT 🏵️💮🎸😳😎
@jett woodward I don't think stones tryn copy Beatles mate. Well im not that old but both good bandz Different parts Britain. Different FEELINGS. LONDON MONEY.. LIVERPOOLS. WELL YOU KNOW. LETS NOT GET POLITICAL... 😎
Never be another singer like him. he was only 20 when LedZep dropped LD-1in january 69'....let that sink in.Cream although never shabby, were the kings of the blues scene, but only lasted 2 years. Clapton was considered god but Jimmy Page showed everyone that he could play like the devil.
I’ve met Rob quite a few times , he asked if he could join our table at our local village pub . He lives just outside of my village of kinver . I know his sister well and own a garden urn that belonged to his parents . I met his father at a evening art class in 1979 and he asked to paint my portrait but I declined . Rob always popping into the village for a pint or a curry . Last time I seen him he was with a American female singer patty Griffin at my local Indian restaurant two years ago .
The feeling I get when I look to the west and my spirit is crying for leaving. Were they California dreaming when they wrote this. Anybody know. Rog. Pacific sunset records.
Old news are just that... Old news.. I find it seriously disturbing how someone tries to use such even outdated information to benefit and profit from it..
Robert did not grow up in Staffordshire, nor were his family 'comfortably middle class' I came from the same area and it was then Worcestershire and very much working class, It s only accident that we never met, as we went to all the same places, even knew the same peoplei I knew people in the Honeydrippers. No way was that 'a comfortable middle clas' environment
@Robert Plant Back in 69 I was in bootcamp. A friend came in with this album, he said you gotta listen to this song, of course it was A Whole Lotta of Love? Needless to say I was mesmirized, that voice and Jimmy's lead solo, it blew me away & I became an instant fanboy? I was ❤️ broken over the Beatles breakup, but now I had the ZEPPELIN. So I managed to collect ALL the albums. I saw you in concert with the Honey drippers and was still blown away? Very happy that you continued with your solo career? There have been many frontmen but to me you are the absolute best. Some came close but the best is Robert Plant, loved it all & still enjoying your solo works!
Life is never meant to be easy. It's been more comfortable for him because of his money but the old adage that money doesn't buy happiness is very true.
@@armageddonisuponus7378 once you have a roof over your head, and food in your stomach a bit of security, i don't think money makes much difference. Some of the wealthiest people are the least happy, but they still want more, and keep going like a hamster in a wheel, because the west is deluded, like that.
Exactly right. Even when a certified Rock God and worth millions, you still have have the journey of trying to figure out how to make sense of life and find meaning on a daily basis.
@@MisAnnThorpe although it's always to criticise someone like plant who none of us know for real, a lot of these people who become rock stars, seem like quite dark souls to me. I don't particularly like what i see in page and plant, their fascination with the dark side of occult wisdom is very sinister, and not as benign as they've often claimed.
That's entirely debatable. I'm bias because I've never been a fan of his "singing" as it were. The music without his vocals?? Is bad ass! I'd have found someone less screachie
@@hammeredseb7198 Without Plant there probably wouldn't have been Bonham and without Plant and Bonham LZ would have been a different dynamic. Would they have been better? Who knows but hard to imagine that they could have been. Take Plant out and the lyrics go with him. LZ were who they were. But accept your viewpoint as we are all entitled to have one (Plant still had the best hair).
Debatable , he's one of my favorites , but , I've never been able to pinpoint a favorite . You didn't specify a genre , saying the best voice ever , encompassing every genre and every era , that's an enormous amount if talent . My mother's favorite male voice was Jim Reeves , I consider his the most pure voice ( also debatable ) , Whispering Bill Anderson had the softest , George Jones had the most countrified and Robert Plant's voice was the epitome of rock and role . These 4 are among my favorites , I can't say there aren't greater voices nor that 1 voice is the greatest ever , we've only ever heard a few voices from the past , through invention of recording devices .
Led Zeppelin will always be the biggest band in the world, Robert plant will never lose his voice, and their children will never die. Artists who will be rich despite of money or fame. The rest without such souls and honest purity are ruthless.
@@garythomas4215 copy and paste is such a waste, you forget to clear the generic messages you send to women. Don’t worry, in the words of Led Zeppelin....your time is gonna come
Neil Peart gave it up for several years when his daughter died in a car crash, then his wife died of cancer. He wouldn't even play his drums. But he eventually made peace with it and came back.
Donald Badowski I was just going to say the same thing, I believe his losses were much closer too, I think he lost his wife about a month after his daughter died, I can't imagine the pain he must have gone through. He got on a motorcycle and didn't come back for a very long time.
Was about to see him with his new band in Kalamazoo MI - just after the release of Pictures at 11:00, I think... Anyway the venue was at an ice rink & they had general admission on the main floor (on the ice)... My ex- & I were right in front of center stage, at the fence; not more than 10 feet away... It was REALLY hot in there & people were jamming in like sardines... It was really smokey & getting really hard to move... The show was about to start in another 10 minutes or so... And suddenly my ex- gets over-heated & stated passing out. She fainted right there on the spot. End of the night. Never did see the concert. Had to leave & get some air. Close as I ever got to seeing part of Led Zeppelin. Oh well.
I seen Plant in concert in the late 90s I believe in New Orleans.. Both times Zeppelin was supposed to play they cancelled, first his Son.. Then John died.. its all so sad..
1977 was a terrible year for Robert, it was the beginning of the end for LZ then John's death was the final end. Personal losses change everything sometimes. 😢😢😢😢😢 Im grateful for the best years.
Robert Plant lagged on the same street as my grandfather, and they were childhood friends. He was raised in West Bromwich, midlands. As a child, my grandfather golf me he was often singing blues when walking or doing anything. He was always singing. Raw talent from the very beginning.
There is a band called Hawkwind you might want to check out, as for all the psychedelic 60's bands, get diggin'. The Doors ? Hence The Crawling King Snakes.
My mum worked with his Dad in the early 1960s, and met 'their Bob' several times. He used to pick his Dad up from work, and as my Mum used to ride a scooter to work, if the weather was bad he would take her - and the scooter! - home. His Dad used to grumble that he wished Bob would settle down and become an accountant or lawyer. I doubt Robert Plant has any recollection of this at all
Little Robert Anthony could've combined the two careers..Whole lotta' dough.... .... .... blew a whole lotta' dough....you been spendin' your account needs mendin"...I'm gonna' set youa...on a budget
Robert Plant was and as far as I'm concerned will always be one of the greatest musicians . " Stairway to Heaven " was so awesome and so far ahead of so many others in that time . I can totally be proud of a man such as he that remained strong facing life having to deal with the sorrow he and those close to him endured !
We just watched those concerts on this video on Netflix! They were awesome! Sorry to hear about you accident. Im sure that was tough! ( Losing your voice)....We Love your music and was sorry for your loss of your son and John. I Believe they can both be resurrected just like Jesus dear friend Lazarus was.
