The metal mesh is for areas you need to be flexible like the tabs, also you supposed to sand the area before you melt plastic on it so it adheres

I wonder if fixing the bumper gap alows a little bit more clearance for big tires

My son has a 2006 LS and I have a 2008 LT and I remember saying to him over a year ago that GM went out to lunch when it came to securing the bumpers. Both of ours sag. 2 questions.... what size rivets nuts did you use and did you take off the inside wheel well cover when securing them? Excellent video. I look at a lot of videos and so many are made too complicated to have any use. But this was good! Thanks

I was gonna try folding a piece of metal over the lip on the bumper cover that meets the body where there’s always a gap…as easy as that plastic tears, I know it’ll just turn the plastic bumper to Swiss cheese because of the tearing on the direct bolt up to the metal side…but if u can reinforce that plastic lip to prevent the easier tears on the plastic side…idk…seems that even too much mud can cause the covers to sag and tear…I miss the old fashioned tank bodies they used to make cars with…

I love the look of that SS emblem on the front grille, I don't think that came like that from factory? How did you mount that on?

i have epoxied thost dang clip things on my self, those things on the side, that slides over the round thing on the vehicle.... and had success, but if you loose one good luck, i dont think anyone sells them. a snow pile ripped bumper cover off and i ran over it before i knew what happened.

hmm - pretty nifty - youtube algorithm is kind to me - I was just looking at that missing part of the bumper. That big plastic connector thing is GONE. I have a rivet gun. Never used rivet nuts before. Gonna go get me some and do this HACK. Nice job. Only I don't want to take off the whole bumper - I'm too lazy and too scared I won't be able to get it back on. hahahaha. See if I can drill up through that bumper? I don't think so. Dang. I saw a vid where someone explains how to take the bumper off, etc. - maybe I did it once before? All those plastic connectors breaking - I worked in a plastic factory. No thanks. hahaha.

I just threw down the JB Weld super extreme epoxy - I'll let you know if it holds. hahahahha. Just propped some stuff under the bumper to hold up while it dries.
