Taking an over loaded utility trailer attached to your Subaru forester on an offroad trail is a good time but asking for something to break. Today I get to deal with the aftermath of that trip.

Ok, the welding exchange between father and daughter is priceless! Samantha with the oversize coat and gloves from Dad with him guiding her along. I mean...how many times has that played out in that family? The admiration you have for each other shines through. As always, you're the best!

Great job on the repairs..I love how your Dad takes the time to work with you & teach you..also glad he made sure that you put on the proper welding gear, the arc from a weld is 10 times brighter than the sun..and that is concentrated directly on your skin..any bare skin can get bad flash burns..keep up the great work!!

Sam, first time finding your YT channel. I have a BIG LOAD of respect for your work ethic. When wife and I were first together, she was my right hand partner. She was not afraid of anything. She was about your size and 4 surgeries on her right knee. SHe did not always follow Doctors instructions and wear her knee brace all the time. She was beautiful in a dress, but preferred shorts, jeans and Tshirts. She handles pew pews pretty good, so she is a threat to anyone not welcome that came in without knocking properly. You listened to your Dad and worked hard to make it right, or best it can be. Congratulations young Lady.

Years ago, after a day of welding with a mig, I would have outlines of the uniform pockets, and button row down the front of my cotton shirt. Every thing else was a pinkish color, those parts where the fabric was double or triple would be the natural skin color. (Yes I'm caucasian). And after my shower, there would be a small black puddle in the shower floor, where the grinding dust washed off my body. I have used a 50 pound spool of 035 mig wire in 9 hours. More then a few times. Retired now, and don't miss those days.

Hello from a crusty old Scotsman Samantha. I have watched Andrew for years. I wondered (not that it's my businees) who you were to him? Having listened twice to your really good Q&A, I think (for what it's worth) that you are still looking for your place in the world? Some find it fairly quickly, most don't. Until you do, it is difficult to hold down a relationship with someone who clearly has found his place. I suspect that, once you're settled within yourself, things may change. I wish you well, and wish you luck and success.

Well, I wish I knew this was coming. I built a jack like this or rebuilt one. On mine 1 1/4 square tube almost fits inside with a little grinding it does. Square clears the dimple in the tube to keep it from spinning when raised and lowered. Did a couple plug welds and added a second mounting bracket on the trailer so a hole and 3 bolts at the top of the frame and a hole in the bottom layer. Now if you hit the jack you know it.

You can all ways clean up a bumpy weld by grinding it smooth, and filling in the gaps. The trick is cleaning both pieces of metal from rust and crap before you weld. All ways clean any slag off with a chipping hammer and metal wire brush. Little holes are called perosity, that's not good, grind it again than weld over it until nice sooth bead is established.
