This is a bit scary to use on an incline but the brakes do work and prevent the trailer from moving. Make sure the chain is tight before using. Very easy to assemble. I did a lot of things wrong here, but after a few times I became a pro at it. Definitely learned the correct way to use it.

I've had a Trailer Valet since 2016. There is nothing like it for tight confines. It is the only reason I could have purchased a boat as i do not have the ability to get it in and out of my garage without it. My driveway is about a 5% slope... When it is wet, i can be tough as the tire slips. i just bought another drill to monster it up the driveway with speed. I'll probably burn rubber. It is a great product. (Perhaps tire technology will make it even better?)

I have the same unit and use it to get my 18' Deep V with a maxed out 150 HP (165-170) motor into my garage from a back alley with very limited space. Literally would be impossible without. I am also exceeding the maximum incline percentage, yet I am quite able to get my boat in my garage very easily. I have very limited space in my garage, my pad, and the alley with only +- a foot or so. I have to say that the approach by this video is wrong, and doesn't lend well to support of the valet itself. As for the product, I would recommend to anyone. It's well built, very capable, and support is great. I needed to say something about this video as I probably wouldn't have bought my valet had I seen this video, therefore needed to comment to suggest otherwise. If I were to show a video of where my boat is stored, and how I get it in there, It'd likely drop some jaws, yet its only possible with the 5X.

You should probably consider putting some type of block about a foot or so in front of the trailer wheels just in case the brake mechanism fails.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to make a review video of our Trailer Valet 5X. For safety reasons we’d like to address some things in the video that we noticed that we advise against. We would not want you to damage your unit or your boat by using it incorrectly. We recommend using a 18 volt cordless non impact drill. We advise against using the drill on high gear. We do not recommend using a drill on an incline. Please make sure you have wheel blocks nearby. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SmoUXVw05Y0.html (at 8:56 I want to note, he’s scaring himself. We recommend using both hands while operating the unit- one to disengage the brakes and one to crank with. As much as we love that you’re filming this video review, we advise someone else to film or have a tripod nearby. Both hands should always be on the unit. Your tires look a little under inflated. We recommend 82-83 psi. We recommend a firm grip on the drill (if you are right handed, do not use it with your left hand) because sometimes not holding it properly can result in kick back. We hope this could be helpful to you, and many others as well. Thank you again and please reach out to support@trailervalet.com for any questions!

Thanks for the input. We became aware of those recommendations as we continued to use the trailer valet. Love the product.

Great video! What type of chain is it. Bike or motorcycle?

Man. Keep your hand firmly on the handle. Don't free wheel it and slam on the mechanism. 😂

I kept it. Once I got comfortable using it, it worked great. I did buy an electric one since I purchased a larger boat.

I got a steeper incline than your video show, debating if the valet xl can handle it. How does the electric handle it? Can you do a video? Much appreciated, keep up the work on these videos!
