Some European muzzles have a small bite bar which enables the dog to strike the decoy and grip the inside of the muzzle. The dog can then focus better. This letting the dog off muzzle seems to cause flailing and crazy drive. I have seen decoys get the wind knocked out of them with this method. Be sure the decoy times the strike to absorb the dogs energy and impact. The dogs are building civil drive while under control. One strike at a time. Different technique but to each his own.
Eid Mubarak! Pray you and your family have a blessed holiday. Love the channel! Looking forward to putting our order with you in mid 2023 for a protection dog. Me and my daughter love the no nonsense channel.
Emotion can (and should) certainly be focused on in training but the actual feeling of the dog thinking of it as a game and for real depends on the spirit and grit of the dog to a good degree, is what I have heard. What are your thoughts on this?
No. Its all in the training. If you're just doing sleeve bites and pillow bites as a foundation, you're f***ing the dog up. Default. What we remember under stress, especially. Man focus/civil from day one. The issue is, dogs don't always come out and people just put the dog in prey to rush training/get the dog to bite and the dog developed equipment orientation and will likely attack something that resembles a sleeve or bite suit rather than engage the man. Happens a lot. That's why you see more and more videos of dogs FAILING on the job in LE. It's all "happy" from the OB to "attack training."
ive been doing bite work on my dog since she was 6 weeks old. she loves to bite but she is a super soft dog. but i do bite work in a way where she knows how to moderate herself so i guess it is a very different kind of bite work.
It doesn’t teach them to be more aggressive, but, I’ve heard several instances of dogs getting spooked in public because they see someone who looks like a decoy, and going for a bite without permission
I'd like to do some with my own dog but she has a very soft mouth vs. humans and I don't really want to ruin that because she does like to play bite. Great grip on toys though, loves to tug.
@@fbiofusa3986 my dog once a guy in front of me while walking raised his arm whilst wearing a Leather jacket right in front of me the dog flew but lucky missed.
That would be poor practise. The muzzles are measured and fitted individually to each dog before training happens. So are collars, harnesses etc. Agitation muzzles have two straps. One that goes around the head and neck and then one that goes between the eyes and on top of the skull. They're fastened tightly on both straps so it's almost impossible for a dog to get them off. These muzzles are specially designed and you get what you pay for. These have rivets that go all along the basket so when the dog is punching you can and do feel immense pain. Not like a normal vet basket muzzle or a non working muzzle these are not safe.
In fact, working Dogs are an Islamic concept Quranically, and the ancient middle eastern herders relied heavily on these intelligent creatures. Wolves fast to recover from sickness. Fasting is natural obedience.
