I found your channel at the moment I needed to! I plateaued, going back to old ways with shit diet, not training hard. I clicked on your video and now I’m hooked. Thank you for being real, motivating and inspirational. Also hilarious. Keep it up sir
Liked this even before watching. Preach Mr. Lewis! Organization and discipline in life is the key. I'm pedantic about my training, personal finances, food prep, work, etc much to my family's chagrin. Is the priority health or Netflix and a pint of ice cream? In Texas the summer heat is more of an issue so I installed one of those Mitsubishi split systems (HVAC) in my garage. In August I cool it down so one could hang a side of beef and in the dead of winter I crank it up to 80 degrees so the cars/motorcycles are toasty warm. Check it out if there's room and electrical in your awesome garage.
These video’s are inspiring me so much,. We’re tier three here so I can’t see my mum, however I can mix with 2 thousand students and another 200 staff when I go to work to teach everyday. Ho hum eh? Keep up the above average work. 👍🏻
Spot on with this. The time I have to run is early morning. The only way I'm getting up early is if I go to bed early and skip a couple hours of miscellaneous TV/computer. Not a morning person, so I'm not very gracious in the early morning, but I've got my gear set up and ready to go, so I have to do it.
Monday is wife and kids day 😂😂. Off for a 8-10 mile run round swinley tomorrow I hate it but love it 😂. I do my running and cycling round work, if I’m on a late don’t bother till the weekend. When I’m on the early shift all out running 💪🏻
Good video - thank you for sharing your perspective on work-life-health balance! Nothing new per se but the manner in which you formulated your thoughts struck a cord. Kudos! ^^ On a side note; it's OK to blink in a video and probably better for your eyes ;) I don't think you blink once for at least 3 minutes in this video (06:00 - 09:00). I found this slightly disconcerting. :) Of course, if that is due to a medical condition or the fact that you are a robot, apologies and, please, disregard my comment - though my guess is that this is attributable to your lighting set-up. ^^
My work schedule is highly variable, but at least start time is mostly set, so I would workout in the morning before starting work. Recently I have been working out when returning home because my new job has better hours. Making health a priority is important.
That is amazing, I have read the workout routine of several champion boxers, you're doing the same amount of training as them but obviously different things.
This is a very relevant video to myself at the moment. I'm signed up for my first Ultra in December and know I have a lot of training/time ahead of me. I'm lucky I have a very supportive wife who is also putting the hard yards in, in a different way (kids and housework) obviously I'm not giving up family time and cleaning but I'm definitely a little more relaxed with it.
Telling us how he is freezing while walking in front of green grass... Last week on one of my runs, ice was forming in my eyelashes and sticking my eyelids together and this week I had to sprint back home one day because I had no more blood in my toes and was scared I might lose them... For me it was "kinda cold, but okay" hahaha It's crazy how cold perception varies depending on where you are from.
Nice one. Ps. Get to the online garage and sort out those Zwift socks !!!!! Also, I know it’s not your primary thing but I reckon you would get a major subscriber boost if you live stream the Zwift races you choose to do. Check out Ed Laverack and or Chris Pritchard for how the best in the game do it. I reckon there is a gap in the Zwift streamer market for the 100kg ish race scene. Have a great weekend.
1. get a dumb phone so your internet is limited to computer time 2. use money saved on dumb phone to get a walking treadmill for under your desk 3. do chores in breaks 4. when with family/friends be with them, not on tv/phone or whatever. this has worked for me so far (the walking treadmill was a game changer) so full time work, uni and now an apprenticeship going on, still get cardio in, still get family time in.
I start work at 3pm so I can get proper excercise in then recover at work ,,,work impacts my day incidentally I wash dishes so get another excercise in
The word you are lacking for the Group behind is "poursuivant". Enjoyed your video. I often struggle to fit family, job and training into my daily routine. But it gets better as the kids get older.
Wise words. Im one of the jung guys bevore kids. RU-vid took a long time more of my day than universitiy, sports and time for my girl. Learnd it :) fit me into the life i want so just less and less youtube but hard. Coming back to the sweat waisting time. So passwords and timer for everything
Running with manual labour job is a pain. I do it when i get back from a 12 hour shift, currently milage for weekdays is around 6-8 miles then weekend is 12+ miles. I cycle 4 miles to work and back and absolutely thrash myself. I find it hard to get in cycling and running while increasing milage. Currently working up to 40 mile weeks running and then i will add in cycling gradually. Should be fun. Worst thing about training is the stretching and foam rolling.
@@MarkLewisfitness Issue lies when i need to add endurance, so tired from the shifts that can't get on the bike sometimes and when you do you're pushing 50% of your ftp. I'm building running milage now and when i hit a certian point i will do the same with cycling. Then the same with swimming. Loving this channel, how's that pukky system for the mountian bikes holding up ? Loved the idea
Hi Mark. Sorry for jumping to the Kickr bike, but I just bought one and the left crank arm keeps coming loose. (Actually came off once) have you experience this? Do you have a fix other than to tighten it before each ride?
er... I'm concerned about that quick release socket Mark. It looks like you might have it the wrong way round which could be dangerous. Great video btw - good points made.
I disagree with one statement you made. I believe that based on your body type, and the way you like to race, pure power numbers are an important metric for you. No shame in keeping track of them.
Mad question, but your quick wall socket, should the exposed metal pins be on the "live" side of the cable? Have you just made a home made taser? Maybe it's just the camera angle.
Couldn’t agree more on the closing statement. Not a doctor, but I have an inkling that if at population level we hadn’t all turned into soft, unhealthy sedantry shithouses we may have faired better with the old Rona. I may have missed it but can’t recall any focus coming from the government on trying to get as healthy as possible as a preventative measure.
Issue is they want everyone soft and fluffy. Easier to control. If everyone was athletes and healthly, it would be hard to tell that population what to do and feed them BS. I look to a country like israel, all very dedicated and commited to their country and their community. All required to keep fit and healthy due to active duty/reserve.
