Q&A with the coach. Shanghai based MMA coach and Kunlun Fight ringside commentator Ramsey Dewey answers questions from the viewers. Let’s talk about dislocated shoulders.
Had a dislocated shoulder due to horse riding accident. Took a week off of training and returned to light training . That was a mistake. Take the time to heal. best advice ever. Close to 20 years later still have issues with the shoulder especially if i don't maintain a certain level of muscle. Take the time. Train the legs or teach if you can. Watch class and take notes. Sometimes getting right back on the horse after an injury is not a good thing.
I know its frustrating, as i have had multiple injuries. Just try to remember, even if its a couple months, it is still only a couple months in your life's entirety. Pt helped me alot and remember there is still many other body parts to exercise while you're healing. Stay positive and don't let it get you down.
Needed this today. Been abstaining from sparring (bjj) for a few weeks due to aggravating a 30 year old dislocation injury. Thanks for your channel, coach. You have a fan from all the way over here in the States.
to the guy that posted the question - train rear delts every other day - train rotator cuffs ever day - always warm up rear delts with light dumbells and high reps before you go to kickboxing training AND get well soon mate
I’ve been doing physical therapy for months mate shoulder hasn’t been right for 14 months now😑 I’m considering just do wrestling this year anyway, and then getting back to kickboxing and bjj this spring
You've grown the beard for it's contemplative value didn't you? It's widely known that deep thought is more easily accessed while fiddling with one's beard. You are absolutely correct about American healthcare. While it's allowed for incredible breakthroughs, the cost has been millions of lives. It's evil to try and profit from human sickness and injury.
especially when the research is funded by taxmoney, but the pharmacompany claims the patents and charges 2000$ for a monthly ration of a life saving medicine, that costs 8$ to 30$ for a monthly ration everywhere else in the world.
I dislocated my left shoulder wrestling in college. I did a single leg takedown incorrectly as I was very new to the sport. Actually it was a subluxation, but after that, with the stretched ligaments it kept happening and eventually I've had a few complete dislocations. I was offered an operation, but that would limit the movement of my arm to where I could only raise it to shoulder level and no further. I decided to just live with it and try to be careful with allowing my arm to be in positions where it could happen. In addition, and this is what I recommend, do strength training, weights, etc to build the muscles around the shoulder to protect and help stabilize the shoulder joint. I never let it keep me from being the best athlete I can be.
@@WaldoRod I wish I had a better answer for you. There's a saying Form Follows Function. In this case, if you keep functioning your strikes correctly, over time, your shoulder apparatus may reform to where it works better. Best!
thank you. i have an orbital fracture in my left eye. also, had a left shoulder dislocation, because of a seizure. thank you very much for you point of view, it was very relieving to hear your point of view.
Ramsey, as a practicing surgeon, I did everything I could to keep fees low. I was even notified one time that my low fees were hurting other doctors because they were getting less from insurance companies because of me. I told them to "stuff it." However, I believe that the surgeon's fees are the least of the problem compared to the bill from the hospital itself in the US.
Yep. The itemized bill for an a 3 month hospital stay is staggering to look through. I remember a nurse putting some socks on my feet at one point, as I was lying there on the brink of death- a friend of mine was there and he said “Enjoy those $50 hospital socks while you can!” When I looked at the bill, 3 months later, the socks were $90.
Have you seen a chiropractor? When I dislocated my right shoulder (jammed my elbow on the mat attempting a forward roll from standing), it was still feeling "off" after a month of no physical activity and had a limited range of motion compared to the other. I was seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis at the time to try and correct a hip issue. When I mentioned my shoulder issue, he sat me on a chair, crossed my arms and did his neck-crank thing. When I walked out of his office, I had the full range of motion again in my bad shoulder. It was still tender, and there were spots that were a bit uncomfortable to move through, but I felt no pain anymore. A week after the visit I felt as good as new.
Oh Mestre, welcome to the club.... I have been training capoeira with the worst case of sciatica ever for the past 3 years!! But I must keep training!!
I had a shoulder dislocation a while back. Probably about a month or 2 months ago. And I did the shoulder rehab stuff and after a while I was able to do pushups again. I commit to 1000 pushups on arms and chest day and still have no pain or excess strain on the injured area. Like Rasmey says take the time to recover. Do the shoulder rehab stuff with the workout bands. If you can't afford health care yet you've some how got your arm back in place. Buy some cheal workout bands preferable the long green one. And search RU-vid for the exercises to do. I went to a doctor and got one for free but also had to pay. And if you eventu9 are able to do pushups again that's still not a sign that you should go back into sparring so soon. I did spar but i was doing the shoulder rehab and im very experienced with shoulder injuries as I've had a broken colar bone on the opposite side. So i somehow got lucky and avoided a second dislocation.
Physical Therapy does wonders for recovery. Those strength bands are extremely affordable and excellent for restrengthening. Knowing your limitations, but also learn how to re-condition your injured area are key to recovery. I’ve had dislocations and breaks.
Meanwhile I couldn't train for the past week because of a problem with my Knee, couldn't even walk for a few days Good thing it healed fast The New Year isn't very welcoming this time 😅
I too recently dislocated my shoulder after throwing a left hook that was countered by a kick that landed right where my armpit was. Was thinking about just resting a week and then going back. But after watching this video I might take the time off. Ill still hang out at my gym to learn technique but Ill stick to not sparring for a while.
shoulder recovery after surgery can take a long time. iv torn muscles in both my shoulders (labrum repair) and im recovering on my right shoulder right now. about 4-5 months of physical therapy. i couldn't even move my arm above my head without it popping out. i delayed it for years and man do i wish i did surgery sooner.
If it's recurrent then needs an mri. I dislocated both my shoulders and I'm having surgery years down the line. Torn rotator cuff and bankheart lesions on both. Worked doing tree surgery and gardening for 2 years before i finally gave up and sort help. Did lots of damage get help before these thing's deteriorate.
This one was kind of up my alley. My ac joint is out of place. My collar bone is popping up a bit. Had it for several years now. Never got it popped out more. I have done hard sparring . And all because of you ramsey. I asked you if a could do kick boxing at 28 with a pop out joint. Dude you where right I could do it. I do work out lift weights even though it's some what out of place. Weights usually makes my arm feel way better. And you know ten years of Kung Fu. Did not go to waste Ramsey. Idk if I'll ever. Compete. But I do love sparring all the pros and beginners at the mma gym. The welcome Matt here in Kansas has been a good learning expirience. I will keep training and not give up. I would have to have surgery to have it fix. But I cannot afford that nor have the ability to do so. So I will keep working it out. And moving forward. Also I would love to show you some of my sparring footage next time I go.
Hey mate my shoulder keeps popping out even after surgery to ‘fix’ it… im being told to stop kick boxing but im devastated.. did you have anytips ? And does yours keep dislocating in sparring etc ? Thanks
I've been having issues with mine for like 3-4 years. I can do everything except throw flurries of jabs, the shoulder starts to fall asleep. This past year I've had the most luck with my recovery
Ramsey, really love your videos thank you. Im an older guy, 58, but fit..ish. I did martial arts in my younger day and have been wanting to go back for years. Can you discuss MMA (or another martial art) and whether you think it's a good idea for older people please?
Question ! I tend to favour 12oz gloves for pretty much all types of training, pad work, bag work, drills ect. I even spar in them I just keep control at all times. My question is can your hands still be 'conditioned' even when wearing gloves? I find when I make a fist it feels 'harder' or more solid than it used to be, or is my grip strength getting better ? If you get a chance to read this, thank you very much !
I think its something like 6 months to a year for a 100% heal. Depending on blood flow to the site. Messed up my rotator cuff in a motorcycle accident (broke my foot in three places and dislocated my pinky toe). My hand is the worst, i permanently damaged it. Repeated boxers fracture on the ring finger hand bone (dorseled, the last break had to heal for almost a year had to use a magnetic machine to help heal, bad blood flow), the other permanent damage was the wrist of the same hand. Broke the bone right behind where the thumb connects to the wrist thought i sprained or jammed it in a fall, went through basic and after found out it was broken and never healed, half the bone had died and was floating around tearing everything up in the space (again bad blood flow) had to have it removed. Best thing is its my dominate hand so i have to switch to south paw and use more open handed strikes with my main hand or use lots of wrap to brace it.
300 000 dollars! Luckely I don't live in the states otherwise I would have been ruined. I have dislocated my shoulder 4 times and have been to two physical therapists and one orthopedic doctor. It is as you say, a dislocated shoulder takes a lot of time to heal. In my case it took around 6 months. I hade to be really carefull with the rehabilitation and slowly increase my exercise so I didn't put to much strain on it. I didn't listen to my first physical therapist which wasn't a good idea because that made the damage almost permanent. My second physical therapist was really picky and actually didn't even recommend boxfit, but my guess is that these recommendations changes from doctor to doctor.
For your shoulder, you have to get it in first. Then use a combination of TCM including herbs, cupping, and aqupuncture.Or simply have therapeutic qigong, it does work...
My first time I dislocated was when I was 18....I’m not 30 and it came back out 2 weeks ago I do MMA and has never came out but I shake a bed sheet on and it comes out
I got my eardrum ruptured by a left hook and healed it for about a month. Then the FIRST training that i went to i got it ruptured again in the same way.
I have epilepsy and because of that my shoulders are all messed up due to my seizures. They can come out at any moment and are not at all stable or fixed. I know how to relocate them immediately but when I relocate them that arm becomes practically useless for a day or two as it feels like I have no power in it anymore. I want to be able to feel secure with myself as in this new town I've been in a lot of scrap fights and I would like to train I was wondering if there's any advice I could take with having this. I've talked to my orthopedic and right now there's no options for surgery until my epilepsy is fully dealt with.
I have a question. What is your opinion on blood clot and training combative sports. My father has heart disease as his mother... so I suspect that I may have same problems in future, but main difference is that I am training in mma, I read somewhere that bruise can make blood clot, or if you already have a blood clot deep in veins you may dislodge an existing one with hard strike. Are all those thing possible, if not, are they possible if you have tendencies to heart diseases and thick blood. Thank you!
i pay like 2800€ a year for my healthinsurance, and i've got basically everything covered, exept for prosthetic teeth. kinda relieving to live in country with socialized healthinsurance.
Once it comes out that’s it you a destined for future dislocations. I’ve had 4 dislocations in total. I had the stabilisation surgery using sutures and it still failed.
The unfortunate truth with multiple shoulder dislocations is that you are kinda getting pretty likely to needing surgery. Most people who dislocate a shoulder twice, will dislocate it a 3rd time if they opt to go without surgery. The fortunate thing is that it's a routine operation and it will get back to 99.9%. I dislocated my shoulder the first time when I was 19 or so, fell on a snowboard on my back and had my arm straight behind me. After that, I took a good recovery, but dislocated the shoulder again a few years later when skateboarding. And then on I started to dislocate it doing all kinds of small things. So got a surgery about 3 years ago. It sucked but it's over now and the shoulder is very unlikely to dislocate ever again. Pretty much full range of motivation. Can grapple, box, etc. Of course it also helps that I live in Finland and the surgery was basically free for me. The surgeon who fixed me up was also coincidentally the doctor for the Finland's national snowboarding team. Basically, when you go to have a surgery at the public healthcare here, you may land with a doctor who also operates world class athletes. High level surgeons tend to do half their time on the public side, another half privately. The latter makes more money, but even the public sector is pretty competitive salary-wise, for surgeons.
I sparred and got my jaw fractured. Will I ever fight again? Or is my jaw more susceptible to getting broken? I keep hearing yes and others tell me no.
Hey Ramsey, offtopic question but I wanted to ask what you think about using wrestling shoes while rolling in bjj. I’ve got a few problems with my ankle stability and toes due to an muscular atrophic disease but i don’t know if shoes make a greater risk for injuries on my partners side. Anyways keep up the great work
Hey Ramsey, I've recently been injured myself. I was caught in an armbar and my partner didn't hear me verbally tapping out. Anyway I'm getting back into rolling now but I'm only using my healthy arm, keeping the other one always tight to my body. It has been an interesting experience because I have to focus on using my Legs and Head to controll my opponets. Now my Question: Should I do one armed rolling every once in a while even once my arm is fully healed? Just so I can experience the contrast? Should I do this with more or less skilled opponents and how often?
The Gracie's do rolling where they only use their legs. So yeah, I'd say you should try doing one arm, even when your arm heals. There's a video Keenan Cornelius made, and he made it a point to show and say that he's used to rolling with only one arm, but almost all of his partners (and or opponents) aren't. It's his narrated rolling video
Hey Dewey, I recently discovered your channel a few months and love your material. I have a question. I teach and train Shotokan and recently started practicing Krav Maga. I'm having a problem with females. I sometimes get told I'm being too rough, even though I'm being very passive. I don't believe I should go all out, but I don't believe I should make it too easy for them, I believe false confidence in fighting is bad because it can be dangerous when a real fight happens and they discover that their techniques are no good. How do you recommend I handle this? I have talked to them and been honest that learning a martial art means sometimes bruises and pain will occur. Also these are not newbies, most of them have been training and would be considered intermediate.
louisianabeast: I train and teach KM. If if it’s a ‘they’ and not a ‘she’, and they’re having to tell you that you’re being too rough with them, then that likely means that you’re being substantially too rough with them and might have missed non-verbal cues about this beforehand. You’re right that false confidence is dangerous, and that intermediates should be comfortable with some pain and bruising. Try and stow the beast-mode for a while, and instead work to the level of whomever you’re paired with, but plus an extra 5%. Be an honest, confidence-checking mirror, but work on being a chameleon yourself, adapting precisely so that everyone wants to train with you. Reconcile yourself with the fact that some people become technically proficient and highly graded without developing the mindset or physicality (that’s just how it is). And try and pair-up with someone who both enjoys and can manage your higher level of physicality. That might involve changing where you train. Would love to hear Ramsey’s thoughts on this.
You have a good point, and it is she. To make sure I'm not being sexist, it's not all of them, but I have only really had this problem with female students. However I'm specifically talking about karate, which is also what I teach at my dojo. Also, I didn't mention this, but it's mostly with the intermediate, and advanced female students I do this with, because I believe if you're an intermediate rank and up you should be competent, and start experiencing what it feels like to block a technique that is somewhat agressive. Whenever I bring my level down with what they are okay with, it'a so low that there's no way they're getting any real training at the level they're at. To sum it up, the level they want me to train them at is for beginners, and I'm not really okay with intermediate and advanced students not being able to handle slightly aggressive techniques.
I had a muscle tear in my left bicep and I rested for three months but on my first day back to class it was obvious it had not mended. It just so happened I began using the free app (just after christmas) MyFitnessPal - a must have for anyone who wants to lose weight, or gain weight. It allows you to easily track everything you eat. I had ten days of data to check up on. I did. I found i was deficient in protein every single day. I now take a protein shake morning and night and after a week I feel it is making a difference.
Hi Ramsey im new to your page im just looking up ac separation videos. did you have a ac separation? i really cant tell by looking at your shoulders. ive started back training and feel a soreness in mine today not sure if its muscle sore or the ac , theres nothing wrong with my range but i dont want to over do it and find out . Subscribed!
I have no idea. I’m not a doctor, and the ones I consulted spoke mostly in Mandarin, and I couldn’t tell what was going on in the X-rays. The only thing they said that made sense was “partial dislocation of the shoulder”.
Jack Johnson vs Mike Tyson / Jack Johnson n Ali / Ali n Tyson ??? - I’m subbing just so I don’t miss the video with your explanation of who n why - of course each 1 on their best day at their peak - I think jack n mike would be the most interesting
Coach Ramsey, do you have any opinions in Judo's Atemi Waza? Do you think it would be viable to do randori with Atemi using modern equipment? Traditionally Atemi randori was left out because it was deemed unsafe to practice... I don't think that would be the case nowadays, but not sure how.
what about shoulder stretching, like for a minute and near the strong pain threshold to regain mobility and to reduce shortened muscle pain and to reduce tension on the joints? 🙏🏻💚 maybe check the "subtle leopard" book, it's great
Pushups are good for you. They won’t make your punching worse. But the body mechanics of a push-up have very little to do with the body mechanics of punching. Pulling exercises are much more useful for developing punching power.
Hello coach, from Germany. Quick question: I have read on the internet that even if you don't land with your head on the mat, you may get brain damage or cte from practicing judo due to something called subconcious concussion and the deceleration of your brain in your skull when you fall down at high speed and you suddenly stop on the ground. Any opinion on that? I do appreciate your instructive videos, honesty, and the tone of your voice!
Hi! I've been practicing judo for a year now and recently started kudo (you know, striking and all that), and men, I suck at it. We spar from the first class and people are nice, just hit with the strenght necesary so the punch or the kick is correctly executated.... anyway, I'm more confortable in the ground fight, bur standing up i can't do anyting, is very alien to me. Could you please give me any advice on how to improve faster? I'm writeing from Chile, south america, btw. :D
Did you see the Karate Nerd has started uploading his China series. I thought you might like to watch it and I’d love to hear how his experience coincides with your own. Thx for all the great videos too!
Ramsey Dewey jesse enkamp, its his RU-vid channel. He’s done karate his whole life and his brother is an mma fighter. He did a series called karate nerd in okinawa where explored the routes of karate and now he’s done the same in China. His RU-vid channel is called the Karate Nerd. He’s actually very popular and had his own line of karate gi’s.
To Justin, who asked Ramsey the Question: I train with chronic shoulder instability. I’m a Blue Belt in BJJ coming up on purple, I’ve sparred, roll and grapple extremely hard, I weight lift and I compete in Jiu Jitsu. My advice to you; Ramsey hits a lot of good points, but you have to retrain yourself as well. I’ve essentially worked around my disability, in Jiu Jitsu I protect my right arm and I don’t reach with it. I learned how to throw and use my arm in strong positions only. With striking, No more wide hooks with your weak shoulder, train both southpaw and orthodox, make your weakness your strength.
Hey ramsey whats better martial arts for fighting multiple opponents? Boxing, muay thai, or kickboxing? Since kicking can ruin my balance and getting legs catch in street fights against multiple attacker? Do muay thai/kickboxing still better? I can't do both due my work schedule
I'm out of training since a month now beacuse of dislocated shoulder, I'm just getting back into training, but until I can give 100% it will take at least another one or two month I think. Also with power training, I already do several exercises with less weight and higher repetition count, pull-ups and stuff are no way yet.....
Ramsey, I want to start mma, I have stretched earlobes 12mm in diameter to be exact. My concern is that even with my jewelry out, they will get caught somehow. What would suggest?
You’re going to have to tape them up and/or wear ear guards before you train or they’ll get torn up. In my first pro kickboxing match, I had my left ear torn off and it needed to be surgically reattached- and I had no holes, or modifications to my ears. Combat sports are not gentle on the ears- take care of them.
Hello Mr. Dewey I have come to you with a question, I have recently thought about joining BJJ. I already to Taekwondo (senior purple belt) and am pretty busy with that, I feel I am proficient in that and want to get my black belt. I would like to continue with it, meanwhile I also do wrestling which doesn’t affect taekwondo a lot and I was thinking, once I stop wrestling season, should I continue with my studies of tadkwondo or once wrestling stops begin BJJ. I love your videos and thank you Sincerely, Noah Weeks
I’m biased against Taekwondo cuz I feel like it neglects the most Important part of striking (punches to face), but I feel Like even just a few months of bjj training is extremely valuable and will allow you to capitalize on ur wrestling skills .
I’m 17 now and I’ve already dislocated my shoulder for the 3rd time, all I want to know is will surgery strengthen the shoulder? Like will it be fine after a recovery time I can get back the ring or fight again?
You need to rehabilitate dislocated shoulders. I’ve dislocated my left shoulder twice. I have no experience with shoulder surgery, so I don’t know how much it will help. But either way, you have to strengthen and rehab religiously.
In an mma bout, is it possible to defend a takedown with a knee or an uppercut? When I say takedown attempt, I mean where the opponent bends down at waist height and charges towards his opponent, everytime I've seen that, I'm thinking throw an uppercut or jumping knee, with his forward momentum and your high velocity attack its sure to knock him out. Is it due to time?
Yes it's very possible. Jose Aldo vs Chad Mendez (can't remember if it's the first or second fight), Edson Barboza vs Beniel Dariush, Micheal Venom Paige vs Chris Cyborg Santos. The problem with that though, is that you have to KNOW it's coming. If they feint it and you jump for a knee, well then you're gonna get taken down as you're landing, also, if the guy just shoots it out of nowhere, it's probably gonna surprise you. Yes it's porridge, but it's a risky and very hard move to pull off
@@ficedulamortis6434 thanks, I agree, if u feint your are also giving away a 'tell' and if your opponent is expecting it to come its would be risky to attempt the knee, but on the other hand if you know your opponent is more of a ground fighter than a stand up fighter you must be expecting them to try takedowns, so I suppose its a matter of timing and also situation.
So I don't usually post on RU-vid videos but this kind of topic hit home. I was supposed to have my first MMA fight February 1 and I was so ready and excited! But during training yesterday (Jan 13) I head-butted with my partner during wrestling and split my eyebrow and got stitches...I'm getting them out in a week however, the doctor says I probably shouldn't fight. I'm extremely saddened by this. I am 99% sure id beat my opponent with taking minimal damage, yet most people are saying it's not worth it but to me I really want to.. what's your take on fighting after semi healing from an open cut? Should I do it or not?
You’ve got to weigh the pros and cons. In that time frame, the cut might not fully heal, and something goofy like a glancing punch might open up the cut again and then the ring doctor might throw in the towel for bleeding over the eye, and you’ll have an annoying loss on your record that you’ll feel like you need to explain to people “But, but... I went into the fight with a cut...” and everyone will be like “Stop making excuses! You lost!” Or, it might be nothing, and you might just stomp on the guy and walk away with your hands raised and no worse for wear. Those are questions that fighters always have to ask themselves before any match.
@@RamseyDewey That's true too.. I hadn't even really thought about the potential of a goofy doctor stoppage. Thank you very much for responding, I really appreciate it! Gives me another viewpoint on how to really debate my next step. 🙏🏼
Hey coach, I know I asked a question recently but theres one that has been a bigger issue that I was hoping you could answer instead. I've been training in boxing and MMA for about 9 months now and I've been happy with my progress, but I can't seem to increase the speed of my punches. I'm a big guy so often when I lose fat I gain it in muscle so I'm still 220 pounds, is there any way to improve the speed of my punches, or am I forever doomed to be slow?
Yes. Punching speed is determined mostly by foot speed and breathing (exhaling). You need to connect your footwork to your punches and connect your breath to your movement. I need to make a video about this.
I dislocated my right shoulder traumatically for the 3rd time, I'm terrified now, I was lifting recently just enough weights but now I'm scared to do that. I can leave fighting but not lifting cause i wanna stay in shape. I need help
@@RamseyDewey i haven't started yet i just got my mri report and it seems like i tore my labrum and have got hill sachs lesion. I'm not sure now i dont wanna do surgery
Hi Ramsey. I am mildy hypermobile so sometimes when I’m hitting the heavybag or spar my elbows and my right shoulder feels somewhat dislocated (but not actually) or feel discomfort. How can I overcome this and is there any exercises to reduce the pain? -I go to boxing by the way
I know the questions sounds silly, but do you work on your muscles as well? (weightlifting, push-ups, pull-ups) For example, when your biceps and triceps are well developed, both muscles keep your elbow in check while throwing punches. You can also try and punch NOT AS FAST AS YOU CAN, but more slow and controlled, especially while you warm up in shadowboxing or at the bag.
Fred Groeger Yes I do weightlifting and I have been for 3 years but I just recently started a month ago in boxing. I will try to work slower next time. Thank you:)
am i stupid to have trained with a broken fibula when i was 17 i claimed it was broken everyone dimissed it including my family when it happened it took me doing a warm up after 2 weeks of it being broken for it to pop and i collapsed it was broken for a total of 2 months will this effect me in the future
Hi man I want to learn martial arts but I have doubt about martial arts will they work on self defense . My question is which martial arts i try for self defense? Karate,Muay Thai ,kick boxing ,MMA or anything thing else? Thanks
Hi thanks for ur time ❤️somtimes I'm doing a normal workout to make my shoulder more stronger than before and sometimes I do what docs said. They told me to do some specific exercises with a light weight but this injury still happening every time I choose to fight or workout omg that's so frustrating...
Broke my growth plate in my shoulder a little over a year ago it’s horrible pain everyday and I just want to get back to rolling and sparring so fuckin bad
Ramsey assuming that you watched jessy enkamps the karate nerd in china what's your thoughts on this more so on the fact that Chinese martial arts were influenced into one martial art
distantly related question: how do you deal with frustration from not being able to train? I didn't show up to capoeira practice a lot recently for organizational reasons and the last two weeks even stress and a headache and I hate it!
Also you mentioned that in the 8 count video, that if a fighter gets knocked out, then an 8 count starts and if the boxer is deemed able to continue by the ref, he could get knocked out again over and over again over many rounds, usually if a boxer gets knocked out and gets back up, he is usually knocked out again inside that round and that's the end of the fight, also sometimes the boxer that gets knocked, gets back up, finishes the round we'll and in the following round returns the favour sometimes in the same round, a couple of examples Anthony Joshua vs Vladimir Klitchko, Joshua knocked Vlad out and a round or to later he returned the favour and in the 11th round Joshua knocked Vlad out again to win, I've seen Tyson Fury get knocked out with an overhand right, only to come out in the next round a again return the favour, also a couple of days ago I watched Conor McGregor fighting Jose Aldo in a UFC fight, i the first round Conor dropped Jose 3 times in the first round, and he was allowed to continue, and although is was a 5 round fight, 24 minutes of that fight was a stand up fight only in the last minute did Jose land a takedown, and McGregor won that fight my point is this, did u see the state of Jose's face during that bout, he had a deep cut above his eye, dripping blood into his eye, possibly impairing his vision, and yet the fight continued, in a boxing match if a fighter sustains a cut like that, the ref will temporarily stop the fight and get a doctors opinion, and more often than not, the fight is stopped due to fighter safety, sometimes the injured boxer will be allowed to continue to see if the bleeding can be stopped, but even then the fight usually is stopped. Where was the doctors opinion in the McGregor/Aldo fight (the most recent fight). Anyway this is not dig at you, I can see your point on safety. I enjoy all of your other videos and would appreciate and feedback, even from anyone else in this comment section.
Dear @Ramsey Dewey, my name is Ash and i am 24, i have no combat experience, and thoughtout my life ive been athletic in ball sports until about 3 and a half years ago where i started to deal with really bad anxiety and depression. currently im on the road to recovery and in a better place than i used to be, my question is, is it too late for me to get to a decent level in mixed martial arts that id feel satisfied with before i get too old? i dont want to waste the rest of my prime years getting to a good level and then by the time i get there im too old. i want to compete as im a competitive person at heart. thank you so much if you read this
Sinful Triviodz not it absolutely isn't. Also, there really isn't such thing as too old for certain martial arts like BJJ. Rickson Gracie is 61 and he stills rolls, and there's people older than that who roll
I had a dislocated shoulder since 16 and I'm 31 now... I fought many times and worked out never got surgery, but I want it to be able to live life normal ya kno
And everytime you dislocate it what do you do ? As in do you have to go to hospital to get it popped back in ? And also do you have to keep taking time off work to recover? Asking as mine keep dislocating even after surgery! :(
If you're in the US - consider seeking healthcare outside of the US. Too many countries have cheaper and better healthcare. It may not matter in a safe job but if you're fighting for a living - it's outright necessary. Canada, Malaysia, China - even Mexico - have better healthcare so do consider this seriously.
Hi, Did you "fight" with iron fighters? Have you fought against energy fighters? This kind of art is very rare and the practitioners don't show off at all. I'm very interested to know what you would say about that. P.S. Bruce Lee didn't know anything about these concepts. I assure you it is very real.
