Different types of dysphoria! Gender Euphoria is the feeling of "oh fuck! There's a word for how I feel! Thank god! I'm not what people say I am! Thank god! Jesus christ! Aaauuuuu!! Fuck! People might call me he/him! People might finally see me a way that makes me comfortable! Fuck yeah!!!!!" I'm extremely dysphoric. Not good feelings. But I know euphorics.

I used to get it mixed up when I was way younger and just learning about transgender people even existing. The way I found to make it easy to remember is this: If transgender male referred to a male-to-female person then by calling them a transgender man you are directly misgendering them in the title. It's still calling them a man, you've just acknowledged they chose to transition. But plenty of trans people choose to identify as a trans man or trans woman and it's highly unlikely a group of people would use words to identify themselves that directly deny their identity. Another language-based way to see it is because the way English works, the words 'transgender woman' essentially breaks down into 'a woman who transitioned gender'. Because 'transgender' comes first it states that the subject of the title (the subject being 'man' or 'woman') would have transitioned genders ('trans' being derived from Latin which essentially means 'across' or 'beyond'. Another English word 'transition' is also derived from 'trans' and is commonly used in sentences like "He transitioned from bus route to bus route until he made it to his destination" or "Her expression transitioned from delight to pure shock." When you put 'gender' behind 'trans' it means they 'went across gender' or in common terms 'transitioned gender'.) In that sense even on a language level it wouldn't make sense. If the subject hasn't transitioned genders there would be no reason to call them transgender and the subject is in present tense (as implied by the lack of a past tense signifier) so it would be talking about their current gender. Which seeing as they've transitioned would be the opposite of their birth. Hence MTF being transgender woman and vice versa (And no I'm not trans med I'm not talking about surgical transition. This section is purely on the language rules surrounding the label itself. Its actually why 'transexual' is considered outdated bc the language directly implies they have to have changed their sex (sex being genitals/chest/biology and gender being the thing u identify as and present as)) TLDR - Easiest way to remember is that someone who identifies as a woman probably wouldn't go around calling themselves a 'man'. Plus linguistics.

To be honest, I wish people would ask these questions rather than others. Talking about the effects of hormones is fun (for me at least) and makes you feel like a scientist. I had a good chat with some of my cis female friends and about periods and we both benefitted from the conversation. It's much preferable to some of the intrusive questions we DO get asked! Believe me, people ask some messed up questions. The worst questions are about sexuality, childhood and transphobia in the news.

@lobae.vonwahnsinn6199
@lobae.vonwahnsinn6199 5 лет назад
@yandrsupreme Kind of backwards what you said up there. Liking "boy" things isn't the same as feeling like a boy. Also most of society hates/fears trans people, hates/fears them way more than femme gays or butch lesbians. There are even "feminists" who don't recognise their existence. So it's not like they are choosing the "easy" way towards societal intergration. So what you are saying doesn't really make sense.
@lobae.vonwahnsinn6199
@lobae.vonwahnsinn6199 5 лет назад
@yandrsupreme I don't disagree that gender stereotypes are a thing and that they are hard to shake off. But no one goes under Kim Kardashian's instagram saying she's struggling under the burden of society and that she should be abolishing gender. So I think it's unfair that a lot of trans people have to deal with this critisism.
@failhard791
@failhard791 5 лет назад
@yandrsupreme As a trans man, with trans friends, I don't feel like this is true. Yes gender stereotypes are smothering and unhelpful, but dysphoria is real and not necessarily related to how you want to fit in with society. Since starting my transition I have actually felt more comfortable with embracing what would traditionally be called my feminine side, because when I was being hypermasculine it was performative - so that people wouldn't misgender me... if that makes sense? It wasn't that I liked masculine things so I thought 'gosh I should be a man so I may be allowed to like masculine things' it was more like 'gosh I am a man, but I present as a female to people around me, so I better double down on masculine things so people stop thinking I am a woman'. I have never felt like my love of certain traditionally masculine activities etc. has defined my gender, in the same way my love of traditionally feminine things is still not defining my gender. Sorry this answer is a bit circuitous.
@BrookeBaubles
@BrookeBaubles 5 лет назад
@Herbert Munson I've not heard of a trans woman disrespecting cis women. I don't think that's a common thing. Also, dysphoria occurs "naturally" and I don't see how them being their truest selves equates to disrespecting mother nature. Try to have a little more empathy for this minority group that already suffers enough.

My brother (bestest friend in the entire universe, known and unknown) told me something I found fascinating. When he went on T, he stopped feeling the need to cry. @thunderusnight
@thunderusnight 4 года назад
The chemicals involved in sending signals to the tear ducts are heightened by the female hormones. Physical men cey less and they take more emotional stress to cause crying. So yes women cry more but men feel the same emotions at the sane level so if a significant other of yours brings up your lack of tears now you have S C I E N C E.

It makes me happy hearing about other people's stories, especially when it works out really well for them, but I just couldn't cope with being humiliated like that again 😔

That is absolutely awful. That teacher should be fired. If you ever choose to transition, know that, while there will always be transphobes, there will also always be people that support you. And choosing to stay in the closet does not make you weak. If you are an adult, gender therapy is a great resource. Or, if your under safe you can still go, bug your parents would have to know.

hello trans girls and trans guys watching this video :) trans girls: i just wanted to tell you that that i am a cis girl COVERED in body hair, and it’s totally normal. down there, on my buttcheeks, armpits, arms, legs (a LOT all over those areas), chest and stomach (not that visible but still) and even a little bit on my face and fingers. don’t feel bad about it, it also took me a long time to get used to it and i was very insecure at first. but it’s just our bodies, after all. i also have very masculine hands and i’m taller than average, so don’t feel bad about that either. trans guys: ALL my guy friends, who are all cis, have less body hair than me. a lot of them barely have any visible hair and they’ve already hit puberty. so basically: stereotypes are kind of bullshit and you shouldn’t feel bad about that

So I went to Iceland pretty recently, and was told a couple of fun facts from a tour guide - one of which was that the Icelandic word 'rassgat' is often used to refer to things that are cute, like young children or animals (it has been compared to the japanese word 'kawaii'?). It also just so happens that the actual meaning of this word is asshole! So by using buttholes, you could just be calling us all adorable :)

Trans women seem to always have such glowing skin but....they're on estrogen. doctors put ladies on birth control to clear up their skin so...trans women are basically getting hyper doses. idk about trans men but....well I would guess getting major doses of T, to whatever point you like, probably also makes you more attractive.....we in general like those who are very sexually dimorphic....very female looking or very male looking.

@@Renxo761 please before you spew crud go educate yourself. Let me explain how you are misinformed. My son is transgender. Before he was his true self he looked more masculine, was taller than most men, and his voice was a deeper octave than most females but was definitely a female in outward appearance. When he began the process of transitioning his Dr did lots of tests. The easiest one to explain was his natural no t testosterone levels. They were high and not just non typical high for a female but high for a teenage boy, and he was a teenager at the time. According to his Dr the results from those tests that showed he had very other gender attributes normally is something they see a lot in people who are transgender. So let's go back to your line of thinking, if God makes no mistakes and someone who is born outwardly the gender they know they shouldn't be and tests ran by drs show there is biological reasoning for that, doesn't that mean God made them that way? And if he made them that way and he is infallible, are you not yourself questioning God and going against him by spewing uneducated crud? Let's for a minute stand back and look at why God would make them that way. Could it be to show uneducated bible thumpers tolerance and that they have strayed off the path to righteousness by judging others in a way that NO ONE but God should judge. To truly believe in God is to not question him and knowing that science and medicine shows they are made that way, and since God made everything he obviously created everything we look at scientifically and medically, why would you claim to know what God wants when you yourself are obviously questioning his knowledge in such things. Please stop judging others, leave that to God, he knows what he is doing and all his children are made the way he intended even if his intention is for them to have journey to be their true selves.

@@caramelily8236 So, would that be similar to casting an actor with a specific mental illness for a particular role or a blind or deaf actor/actress because they fit that role best?

Yes to the ignorance part. I didn't understand why someone would want to go through so much trouble to change their body, and why not just live with what you got, but your explanation made a lot of sense "I don't feel right in my body". I guess if I cared enough, I would want to change my body too, and that makes perfect sense now. Thank you for your awesome videos.

One of the things you said is people not understanding what you are talking about when you are going thru the trans stages. Still haven't started T yet. But considering it soon. You have given me inspiration to do it. Thank you.

This is probably too much information but I had some minimal hair in my buttcrack pre-t which isn’t necessarily uncommon for females and now that I’m on testosterone my buttcrack is hairy as fuck and I’m only about 4 months in. It’s ridiculous. I don’t mind it because it makes me feel more masculine but holy shit it is weird to get used to.

Miscellaneous Nick that is absolutely DISGUSTING. Why would you want to be a man anyway? Ew... the whole trans thing disgusts me in general, why can’t you just accept the way you were born?

Jamie, I'm on my second shot of T. Can you do a video say more about how T affects you. I'm so tired when I first wake up but have loads of energy during the day. Parts of me ache, I sound like I have a cold due to a slight voice drop. Your videos are amazing as are you! 🤗

This is one of the couple of videos I've watched of yours. And I'm happy that you are open and not feeling awkward by those quite personal questions, that definitely we all wonder. I feel others would have answered "non of your business, or it's personal yadda yadda" but you are such a breath of fresh air. Keep on the good videos 👍
