My 13 yo just came out to me as Trans a few days ago. I want to be supportive but I knew nothing about what it means from their perspective. Your videos have been educational but, mostly, showed me how happy and complete you seem to be. Gives me so much hope! Thank you!

Thank you, so much, for supporting your kid. You have no idea how important that is to a trans kid, or at least the majority of trans kids. Thank you for taking the time to look into this sort of thing. Thank you for believing them, and that what they are telling you is right for them. Sorry for the cringey comment. hey, guy here whos a male with a bit of a more pear shaped figure. i know a lot of trans guys struggle with the whole having hips thing, and even as a cis guy, who carries weight in the hip and thigh area, something i recommend is sweat pants that are baggy around the hip and crotch, and pretty much your entire leg, but are fitted around the ankles. these types of sweat pants really help to make your lower half look a lot more rectangular. i usually wear dark grey joggers, i think they just make my figure look more masculine. just a tip !

@aryore2411
@aryore2411 5 лет назад
I've personally started going for tapered pants, which are snug around the hips and narrow down to the ankles, but are not as fitted as skinny fit pants. They look trim and give a good silhouette with straight sides without causing that flappy boat-sails look around your knees that you get with a straight cut. I've also gotten into watching out for men with wide hips when I'm out and about. There really is a big variety of hip sizes in men, you do get the guys who are straight thin sticks, but I've spotted guys with hip proportions that are as big as mine and they absolutely look very guy despite it. I find that upper-body proportions matter a lot more than lower-body proportions.

I'm 26 and I have no idea what my sexuality is. It's weird that I'm unable to make sense of my own experiences, because I don't know if I actually like guys or just get a high off of their validation. I don't know if that's at all similar to questioning your gender, but I do know what it feels like to have "lost" many years of my life (to depression and DDD, in my case). The only thing that helps me is to think of what these years have given me, even if I couldn't experience joy like I wish I could. Without this experience I couldn't understand and help people who are in a similar situation. And who knows, when I finally get out of it I might be able to get more out of life than I would have been otherwise, because I'll never take the opportunity to live fully for granted.

I realize some people don't know at 18 if they want to be parents at 18 or in their early 20s and maybe that is a little different with disphoria. I am cis and i knew i wanted kids at six or 8 years old. literaly craved the physical sensation of being pregnant starting at ten and a few years later I think before I craved breastfeding. and by ten I absolutly knew I wanted to physically give birth. I had a sister who said she never wanted to give birth or be pregnant or any of that she was going to adopt and I am not abosed to adoption I think it is beautiful but I also knew i wanted to bear children. I did have some level of disphoria not that i felt male but I thought there was some sort of mistake because I couldn't identify with gender norms in the way that I preicived them. my point is though that may be young for making that decision it is not at all young for knowing you want kids.

@Amanda B In norway when you reach a limit on how much you have payed for medical services its all free after that, like I have at the moment. I can go to the doctor/hospital and I don't pay for anything, even the meds I use are free when the limit is crossed. And its not really that high either. Think its around 285 Usd or 2500Nok. So once that is reached you can go to the doc everyday for the rest of the year for free. And if you are in an accident and end up in hospital (ambulance and everything) It will cost you nothing even if the limit isn't reached.

also maaan i feel you on the adult/childrens clinic issue noah! i have a mystery chronic pain condition that ive been trying to get diagnosed for about 7 years now. i finally got referred to a specialist, which was at a childrens hospital, but i turned 18 a week before my appointment. this hospital is known to take in people between 18-21 on emergency bases, so i figured since im literally crippled from it, and almost failed my last year of grade school bc of it, theyd go ahead and treat me. i waited almost a year for this appt, get there, and they tell me they cant do anything bc im over 18. when THEYRE THE ONES WHO SCHEDULED MY APPT. i had to wait 7 more months to see an adult specialist, and almost failed my first semester of college/university during that time bc i couldnt receive disability services without an official diagnosis -.- edit: ive finally been diagnosed, and i did the math: it took me 9 years to get diagnosed! the average for my condition is 3-6 years.

That sounds so much like departments not communicating with each other....worst I had was being scheduled an appointment at an endocrinologist at 30 years of age who worked at the children-side of the gender clinic, and the hospital seemed to find out in time that wasn't going to work very well...

@@somedude172 Honestly, I was curious if the doctor would have recognized me, because it was the endocrinologist who had screened me as a child because I was very short for my age and they wanted to rule out any hormonal causes (I didn't know back then I was transgender) because if there would've been any, I would've gotten growing hormones if my body would not have entered boy puberty on it's own. I would've liked to see if my last name (I was the endocrinologist's first patient after his graduation as one) and the note in my file that I'm one part of an identical twin rang a bell for him. :P (Fate is a weird thing sometimes...) As for getting a surprise as a doctor: I had a doctor's assistent suddenly measure my body height (body weight and fat and bone mass is done on a regular basis and when you are younger height is as well) because she estimated my age going of on my appearance. Since I had the shit measured out of me as a child I knew the drill, but before I had my heels firmly against the wall and my chin up just slightly she pulled the measuring tape down and got a reading, screwing up the process and shortening me by 2 centimeters (168 instead of 170). 6 months later, I had an appointment at the endocrinologist again and the assistent (a different one basically everytime) saw I had been measured and decided to do that as well, did it right and saw I had an increase in height by 2 centimeters and without any reservation asked me if I had noticed myself growing, and I blurted out something like "Well, that would certainly take a scientific miracle!" and was so gobsmacked that I at that moment was unable to explain it further, so we got to the weighing station thing which requires entering the patients age, so I mentioned I am 31, and she went "Oh, now I get why you mentioned the scientific miracle thing...." (As for being estimated younger, that's not exactly new, but it was stupid that it happened in a hospital)

@melissabarrett9750
@melissabarrett9750 Год назад
The people who react badly to the trans community simply can't accept another person's need or right to be comfortable in their own skin when nature didn't see fit to give them that. They seem to enjoy trying to impose misery upon trans people and almost welding them into a gender designed body cast of the biosex they are which will destroy them psychologically, which is unnecessarily sadistic and inhumane

Hey pal, how's it going? I hope you feel better right now then when you wrote this. I remember when I came out. With some people it felt like I was walking right into a Strom, with other I was surer of myself. But with everyone, it ended up turning out ok, and if it didn't, then it would have been a good riddance. Feeling terrible because you try to please other doesn't work out in the long run. I'm just a little ways from coming out to my extended family (with the support of my immediate family) so that's something that'll be quite nerve-wracking, but itll be alright. I hope you are happy(-er) by now, lots of love! :) (I just realized that, since I'm from Germany as well, I could have written this in German. Well. It be like that)
@duffman18

I hope you're doing OK mate All I can say is that anyone you lose as a friend because you come out to them, was never a real friend. It's actually a great way to cut out all the people in your life that are bringing you down, or are toxic, because this really reveals who they are if they abandon you. Then you're left with your true friends, and you get so so much closer to them, you can end up telling them everything, intimate things, and get their help and advice and their shoulder to lean on. My experience is quite a bit different, in that I'm not trans, I have schizophrenia. You'd be shocked at how easily friends you've known for years abandon you when you tell them you're mentally ill. The stigma is real, bro. And it did hurt me a lot for a time. But yeah the friends I have left I am closer to than ever, they are my family, legitimately. They've genuinely saved my life numerous times when I was close to suicide. But yeah I know that's obviously a different sort of thing, mental illness, compared to coming out as trans. But the thing of losing friends is the same. And trust me, it's absolutely the best thing to get rid of those toxic people. I've never been happier since telling everybody. Genuinely. Fortunately when I came out as bi, none of them cared. Even the ones who left because of the schizophrenia. Like I guess in my country it's such a non issue, oh you're gay or bi? Well you also have blonde hair and are 6ft tall. That's how normalised and accepted it is in my country, luckily. We don't have radical fundamentalist Christians in my country really, unlike say the USA, so it's just not a big deal, and that's great. But yeah, coming out. It's scary, really scary. But do you want friends that don't even respect who you are? And the relationship thing. I don't know really, every relationship I've had I tell them pretty early on I'm schizophrenic because I don't want to sort of lead them on in a way. And none of them left, they didn't get scared and run away, they just accepted it. Schizophrenia is legally a disability, in my country at least, and so they sort of treated it like that, like they were worried about me, but they weren't scared off or anything. In a long term relationship? Well you're going to have to tell them sometime. You can't live a lie for the rest of the time you're with them. If they leave because of it, it's going to hurt. But hurt passes. Eventually. We all have sad breakups in our life. And it's tricky, because if it's a guy and they're not gay or bi, it's just perhaps not gonna be compatible, even if you still both love each other. I dunno. But you've got to tell them. Happiness comes from within, not from other people, from friends or boyfriends or girlfriends or whatever. Getting a relationship to fix your unhappiness has never worked in the history of relationships. Your happiness has got to be your own, and being your true self is gonna be the way to do that. And casting off the toxic people who can't even accept the reality of who you are, is only going to make you happier in the long term. And that's what it's all about.

Vomiting isn't inevitable. I didn't do it after top surgery, maybe you won't either 🤷‍♂️ I wish you all the best 😁👍

i never threw up or was even nauseous, and if you think you'll react badly to the anaesthesia (since thats why most ppl throw up) just let the surgery team know! typically you can predict your response based on whether your close family reacts poorly. your anesthesiologist can help by using a dif dose, giving IV anti-nausea before you wake up, etc. they did this for me during my top surgery and even though my mom and her mom both react badly I was totally fine.

This video made me cry. I'm 17 and just came out a few months ago. I recently requested and appointment at a clinic and I'm very excited (also super nervous). You two are complete icons for me and I love you both, y'all are adorable and your guy's videos have helped me a lot. 😭💕 (Yes I am re-binging all your guy's videos)

Omg, I got surgery in my stomach twice and listening to everything you explained, I got actual nausea just imagining the pain you must have been through! You guys were so strong to get through all of this multiple times... an I can't imagine having to pay so much money to just get to a point where you're just ok with your body, this is so harsh to put such a financial hinderance to get procedures done that are sooo essential, it's so unfair, it should totally be covered by your healthcare! Especially having heard Jammi once mention that it literally was the savings for buying a house that went into the transitioning surgery, this is so harsh to have to make a choice between your basic wellbeing in general and you future financial situation and projects, that should never be a thing! As if transgender people didn't have enough working against them in our society! It makes me both sad and angry! I really hope for the best for you two and any other person that has to go through that, for your present and future life. You deserve the best coming your way! Omg, I'm crying, I'm sorry, but this is so terrible that this is still where we're at as a society! Love you guys, you're just great, keep living your best lives and I hope the best is yet to come, you deserve all the happiness in the world! Same for any one reading who's in a similar situation!
