It is a warzone worth fighting in, but it is so goddamn tiresome at the same time. Especially with all the different tastes out there, I think any true anime fan can agree with this: Just leave us the fuck alone, please. That's all we want.
To add some comedy to this situation, Oli made a tweet before stating that he'd love to be Japanese for a day. And here he is now, tearing apart something made by Japanese people, which he knows little to nothing about
The whole "trans-racial" thing is so stupid when you really think about it because the argument of "I identify as a Korean person" wouldn't even be a thought in his head if he grew up with no knowledge of Koreans. He can't identify as Korean if he never knew they existed. He just has a sick fetishization of Kpop idols.
I get this feeling of obsession in self identifying from the trans community in general, like that one case where a trans woman was acting out having a "period".

Same, so much same!!! but I want to be isekai’d as a adorable loli into an older world with lots of yummy foods and lots of farm land with little to no governments or kings/queens with a lot of hunky hot guys treating me like a good guy friend and letting me in on all their stash’s of medieval degen artworks of what kind of girls they are into. And watching them from behind as they work and sweat in the farm fields and on hiking trips. And giving me lots of hugs whenever I feel depressed and carrying me if I feel too hot in the exposed humid sunlight.. Okay I’m sorry I’m done now. I went a bit overboard with my odd fantasies.
@@joshjess9841 not a real expert on this topic but I believe it’s because the idea of being “transgender” has more actual evidence then these other things.
@@Lucky-lz4jo Whether it's stupid or not people are free to think so, but no, it's not the same (exactly the same? transgender is about gender, transracial is about race, that's literally different). Transage has actual serious legal issues. I shouldn't need to explain why. "Oh your honor it's fine, i'm transtenyearsold" Also, it's obvious when someone is transsomething for real or for brownie points. And gender dysphoria is a thing. Ethnicity dysphoria isn't. It's understandable to not like something about your body, which is a body image or body dysmorphia issue, but you can't *feel like another race*. You scientifically CAN genuinely feel like you are the opposite gender in your mind. And if it causes you issues, internally or externally, then it's a gender dysphoria. Transgender being transgender is not an issue itself, most don't care, it's what transgender people DO that is an issue. And of course, use common sense. Obviously the absurdity is way past the point of acceptable when it comes to shit like "oh yeah i'm transkorean" or "i'm a quadgender nonbinary lolololsexual", transman and transwoman is tame in comparison. Someone who has a penis or looks like a dude, and tells you "i'm a girl", you can think "wtf" if you want, but ultimately, who cares if they are leaving other people alone. The other ones have far more sinister and disrespectful implications.
Trans-Racial now just wait till trans-generational is a thing. “So what if he’s 30 years old he identifies has 16 year old it should be legal for him to have sex with 16 year olds!” Mark my words that’s the trans community’s end goal right there.
That "anime and "graphic novels" are for children" tweet really just confirms for me that, despite how many people are more open now to the idea that animation can be its own art form on par with television and other story telling media, there is still a considerably large amount of people who hold a prejudice against the medium and those who enjoy watching it. There are probably plenty of people who pretend to acknowledge it, but prejudice like that doesnt just disappear over a few years. They just think we're all deviants.
Even if we are all deviants, who cares? Being a fan of anime doesn't inherently hurt anyone. If we were to follow their logic and say that all deviants, harmless or no ought to be purged, then I suppose we should genocide every member of the LGBTQ community.
Well, most anime series and novels are aimed at 12-18 years old kids. So yeah, you can say anime is for children. Especially when tweeter freaks say stuff like "23 year old child" 😂
@Shinji Ikari i mean that is just the surface level which mostly consists of shounen but there are many animes or manga which are really depressing and a difficult read (eg tokepi original sin) and also which show a character falling to end of dispair and reaching a state of hopelessness and showing things like it is ok to be make mistakes every body has regrets no matter what you do so just turn around and move ahead ( great examples are mushoku tensei , berserk, etc ) so i think it would be unfair to call an entire medium of entertainment for kids just because the most popular genre is made for teens and young adults
As a genuine half Korean I can happily say that comparing this man to even the most unhinged of our kind is like comparing Velma to Monty python. I’ll let you guess which is which
I remember telling my teacher back in high-school that I identified as "a sentient mollusk" some 9 years ago. Was a big joke, most of the class laughed. They wouldn't laugh now. It wouldn't be taken as a joke anymore. I wanna go back to when life made sense 😢

He's speaking in ignorance at that point. Nothing written in the Bible about it being wrong to watch anime except maybe two off the top of my head. My dad used to really dislike anime, not so much that he HATED it but that he mocked it a bit. I genuinely believe that after watching Hunter x Hunter with me it's one of his favorite shows. So yes, I do believe that the people that dislike or hate anime are either lying, or they just haven't tried it. (And I mean hate anime as an existence type thing)
Same, I feel people that don't like or straight up hating anime just either never watch one or just don't find the type of anime that they will enjoy yet.

I saw hero hei cover this as well. This "transracial" thing though really is pathetic. Unlike gender, ace really is socially constructed, in a sense, race doesn't really exist. Asian, White, Black, etc, are all humans, we just named people different things due to their culture/ancestry. I'm English because I was simply born in England, not because I identify as English. And like every other country, it's only that way because some idiot squiggled lines and names on a map and called it a day. This person is not Korean and I refuse to change my mind on that. "Comics, cartoons, anime and graphic novels are for children". Firstly, cartoons and anime are really the same thing. Secondly, hmmm, yes I don't see a problem with letting children watch any anime or read any comic. Surely none are catered for adults, right?
Fun fact about Koreans and Japanese. The 2 say they hate each other (for historical reasons dating back all the way to the 600s, 1500s, and you know the recent one) yet they always eat the others stuff up. Even back in the day the Koreans loved the high quality swords from Japan and Japan loved Korean pottery. Today it's a cultural exchange with K-Pop and anime both being extremely popular in the other.
Twitter Freaks: "anime is for kids" the anime: 'Terra formars' Also I feel bad for the parents of that first kid. Not only did they fail big time but his actions are now a reflection of how his parents handled him. Imagine being some white kid and going "yeah no I was born the wrong race" and tries to physically change their looks to match said race. It's about as stupid as those people saying how they are trans-abled, people who identify as being handicapped where they get surgery to remove limbs, eyes, or get paralyzed. And yet instead of treating anyone like this for what is rather clear mental instability they get praised and protected by certain people. I'm sorry, not really, but if you want to have surgery to remove a perfectly fine limb, or get paralyzed, or even have surgery to look like a certain race of people then yeah you are mentally unwell and deserve to be treated for that. Nobody of sound and sane mind would ever think they were born the wrong race or feel that "no, I'm trans-abled and don't actually have my left arm" while still having it and just refuse to actually use it.
London's take was on the intellectual level you'd expect from a person who'd spent as much as he did on supposed "Trans-Racial Surgeries". I would say at least, from an interview I've seen him do recently, he's calmed down and become a little more reasonable than he was half a decade ago.
Man, I grew up Korean in the U.S.A. Nobody wanted to "be" us. I used to get jumped being told to "go back to China" even in elementary school. I wonder what school would have been like if I grew up in the times of Koreans being desired lol. All well, still doing well with a beautiful wife.
The sorceress from Dragon's Crown is loli because she has a child-like face. That was an actual article written when the game first came out in 2013 (feel old yet?).
Upon further reflection I'm pretty sure there's more than one horror movie with this concept. In fact wasn't Perfect Blue using a concept like this when it came out in the late 90s? Over-obsessed fan goes too far and starts to fall into the delusion that she is the person she was stalking.
To be fair to Oli, he's been "normal" for the past year. I've talked to him personally a couple of times, and he genuinely seems to be over the trans-racial stuff. I just think he's overcorrecting due to what he's been through the past 2-3 years
This was bound to happen when the boundary between natural and unnatural that had been established for thousands of years was crossed at an alarming rate
From everything I've seen/heard of this Zoeey Zephyr character there are plenty of other ways Oli could have gone after them without bad mouthing anime. Why do people think that 'everything the opposite team likes must be bad' makes any logical sense?
Oli didn't coin the term transracial, that's been around since Rachel Dolezal and possibly longer. Also as far as I'm aware he has desisted from his transracial nonsense so I think it's a bit unfair to drag him for stuff he's not doing anymore. I do agree his take is dogshit in addition to being blatantly wrong.
Also I love how Rev's monologue about London is an exact copy of Matt Walsh's monologue about Dylan Mulvaney by just replacing the word Korean with the word Woman
Actually I think it's better to make anime look like it's nothing more than the most childish hog slop or tentacle porn thing ever, because it serves as a great filter for keeping the weirdos out. Some would call it gatekeeping...I call it having a healthy immune system. All I want is for my hobbies to be unpopular again.
That tweet about saying comics, anime, cartoons, and graphic novels are for children. Is she one of those people who think cartoons like South Park, Family Guy, or The Simpsons are for kids just because they're cartoons? If she is then that is the worst takes I've seen.
People got so used to anime being attacked from the Left that they've forgotten that many on the Right have similar views. I've been wondering when Anime would come into their crosshairs, and now it appears to have begun. Which is funny, because I know an awful lot of people on the Right who are big time anime fans.

We really came full horseshoe with anime. First you would have been shamed for a loser/nerd for liking something weird, then anime became mainstream and it was cool to like it, and now Twitter is regressing to a period of shaming people again for liking anime, except its now for their schizophrenic reasons
You taking him out of context rev oli has now since changed a lot but I would agree about people having anime pfp being demonic I think that’s really ridiculous claim
I miss the old time where I can enjoy anime peacefully, yes of course they will insult you but not to the point where they interfere the anime community.
When inserting/invading hobbies like dnd, video games or anime don't work, they try and cancel it. Yeah, don't ever let them in and keep the gates closely guarded.
People who hate things we like don't even try to understand them, to the point their terminology and definitions are so wrong they're just making shit up. It's annoying, but we can't handwave it either because these people keep spreading their misinformation. They require education, these are things they NEED to learn, so that the general public isn't misinformed about the truth that anime is totally harmless.
*sigh* I swear most people have no idea how most Loli's are portrayed in anime. Ok yes in an ecchi maybe you'll get one Loli character who is sort of sexualised but most ecchi are pretty tame in sexual content (Unless you go to some super niche titles or older stuff) as with a lot of stuff of that nature it is heavily censored due to Japanese TV rules and laws on nudity and sexual content. Yes uncensored versions exist but even then the only big difference is nipples which is something you see on western TV all the time. Outside of those the Loli character is usually just used to be a cute factor. Cute is all the Japanese/average anime viewer see when they view a Loli. If you look at a character and immediately think "sex" then you have something wrong with you.
Let's just shorten this. "Most people don't know about anime". Anyone who hasn't been a fan of anime for more than two seconds doesn't understand anime as being anything more than "those oversexualized japan cartoons" they walked in on while their kid was watching Toonami. Yet people keep wanting to talk about things they have no clue about, because they want to believe they have a good grasp about every aspect of the world. Literal boomers and normies who could care less about the actual medium.
This isn't even what transracial means. The original definition is someone who is adopted by parents from a completely different culture than the one they were born in. No one can just change the place they were born.
I'm a conservative person and would like it to be known that I will be sticking to my beliefs. I do not believe that mutilating yourself to look like the opposite sex/gender makes you that thing, and doing so to look like another race also does not make you of that race. Can we all agree that nobody wants this guy on either side? Twitter freaks never cease to amaze with how much of a bad take they can have, particularly when it comes to anime.
Slight correction: the word lolita actually comes from a roman of the same name about a pedophile where the main character defines the word as a girl that is seductive in an innocent manner, and has later been connected to younger girls (since the "love interest" of the book is a very young girl). The original form of Lolita fashion uses this to portray being seductive and cute at the same time, and the word lolicon comes from being attracted to this kind of girl, which is also why it's often mistranslated as pedophile. I personally think that the word loli has been broken out a bit from this definition since the character archetype no longer needs to be seductive to be a loli and has become more or less it's own thing, together with the word lolicon. In general though, it's directly incorrect to use the word "lolita" in this context, since it refers neither to the original definition, nor the fashion.
It is unknown whether (the Japanese definition) came from the Russian book but it shouldn't matter considering the difference in definition. Which is also different from lolis which is a small cute anime girl. Lolicon is a short form for loli complex which is an obsession with lolis
@@Azusashusband oh, I know. But the japanese (to my knowledge) does not use the word "lolita" in this context, which is why using it interchangeably with loli or together with lolicon would be ingenuous at this point. My comment is mostly to clarify that (again, to my knowledge) if you use want to refer to the fashion you usually say "lolita fashion", and that the article is trying to insert implications that doesn't exist
Technically Lolicon is also not sexual. It is often used as a hentai tag, but so is feet or glasses, and Loli is also often used in its place. A Lolicon is simply a name given to those who are fans of loli characters, usually in the context of non-sexual content. However, it is not always vanilla slice of life stuff and this is where the negativity around it stems from. Nothing about Loli characters are inherently sexual, but there is stuff like that out there. I just wish people would stop painting everything with the same brush, because this is how we end up with hate groups.
I remember a couple years back seeing Oli London for the first time and the desperation he had regarding his quest for fame. Well, now he has it, but at what cost?
This might just be me, but I'm actually slightly more concerned with the politician's statement that her ideal relationship with a man is "when I'm riding him, and when im also ready to take his life." Maybe that's just me? But, if it's only her fantasy of doing this in an anime with an anime guy character, then sure, let 'em go off.
