i have a debate in few hours against linear model and this video helped me beyond a lot like the way you explain and the exaples you use go along the points you mentioned exactly. thank you so much
I think this model is one that is applicable to our day to day interactions and falls under interpersonal communication more than the other types of communication. Plus it also brings about other aspects such as non verbal methods of communication and is not only focused on verbal communication.
Thank you for your video am using my written work to my school, am from the philippines sorry am bad english but 40% to understand to english to helping for you video
The same question was asked by a lecturer in our class. Okay, i think it applies in professional settings most probably during events like meetings whereby people have to bring their views into discussions to bring about a good decision. Am i right Sir Alex...
I am doing an essay about different communication models and this really helped a lot especially in explaining the transactional model. Thank you very much! :)
how did the communication model essay go? I am literally doing the same thing for a business management degree and id like to connect and discuss what communication models you have used in your essay please.
Hi, Szara Dental Lab. Thank you for the encouragement. I looked at your channel, too. Very interesting stuff. I looks like you're finding your audience and growing. Congratulations. Keeping up the good work!
Hi, Steve. That's great! BTW, you might start with the "Breakdowns." I did a couple that some people like on Matthew McConaughey and one on "Arnold," etc. I don't know if you'll like them but they are a little bit different in the format than some of the others I do. If you look under the "videos" tab, you'll see some of them in the top few rows. Either way, thank you for the encouragement. I'm really thrilled for you that you're finding such a specific audience on RU-vid for your area. That's pretty amazing, actually. It inspires me even more.
Thank you sir for the video, but really, i do not see any difference between the transactional model and the interactional model. Please, could you tell me the main difference.
The two models overlap and it really depends upon who is explaining what model. This video does not provide a comparison of the two models. I recommend googling a comparison of the two. I will not likely be making a video on that topic. Good luck.
If you don't mind, I'll try to briefly tell you the difference in the two models. In the interactional model, the communicators are generally not sending and receiving at the same time. They take turns sending and receiving. The interactional model is pretty good for representing what happens when we communicate using technology, like texting or email. In the transactional model, communicators send and receive simultaneously. The transactional model represents our communication when we are face-to-face and not separated by technology.
I'm a student of mass communication and journalism, I am listening from Bangladesh, this video was very helpful for me, watching this video, now i can get properly understand the model of communication 😊😊 , thank you sir,
It's really helpful. may I ask whether this is the latest communication model or not? Do you have any info about model of positive communication, too. (I think that is one the latest inquiry in fields of communication). Thanks!
I don't have any about a model of positive communication yet but I'd like to make one. One major model "new" model is the Constitutive Model of Communication. I have a video where I talk about that one a bit.
I don't think either of these theories provides obvious guidance for improving oral communication, at least not in a specific way. Both theories provide a lens through which we can examine communication processes.
As with most skills, you need instruction, practice, and feedback. If you're a student, consider majoring or minoring in communication studies. You can also keep watching this channel. We have over 100 videos on communication skills!
Sir i just we just got such a low score in our presentation because of your videos, my teacher said there's no difference between shannon-weaver and transaction model
Hi, Kate. These are two different models. They are in many introductory communication books and presented as two separate models with key differences. I'm not sure why a teacher would say that they are the same. That is incorrect. Even a simple Google search for "shannon and weaver model of communication" and "transactional model of communication" will reveal that they are two separate models. I encourage you to search other sources to verify this.
I'm a bit confused, it says in the book that Schramm Model is an example of the Interactive Model of Communication. However, you used its diagram to explain the Transactional Model.
I'm not sure what the diagram in your book looks like but the Transactional Model I'm describing has some different features than Schramm's Interactive Model. For example, the Transactional model says we are both senders and receivers at the same time (whereas the Interactive model essentially emphasizes the turn-taking features of communication) and emphasizes nonverbal communication more. But, the models are very similar. There were some small but meaningful additions from the Transmission, Interactive, and Transactional models. So, at a glance, they do look almost the same. If you Google "Interactive vs. Transactional models of communication," that'll explain how they overlap and differ. But, I don't have a video on that.
thank you this video really helped me a lot. but, could I ask you about the weakness/disadvantage of this model and how it is similar to the Shannon-weaver model?
In our day-to-day lives, we experience this type of communication without knowing this concept and this become more convenient for us because of personal experience.
