The fact that you like and reply to your comments even after 6 months shows me you really are doing what you are doing to help others overcome their social anxiety. I often faced situations similar to your first demonstration 😂 (loved that btw) and heck I’m only 15! Social anxiety really has no age or gender. Seeing the me of the past, I think Your key pointers are definitely in the right direction for people who suffer from social anxiety. Hoe I personally overcame my anxiety is just to randomly go up to people and ask them something so common like “what’s the time, or Rough day huh” and when they start to reply, you get all your confidence back as you listen to them talking about their day. One thing I would say is that being a strong listener is somehow randomly correlated with how confident you get as you talk to the stranger you had just met. This was just my personal solution and opinion. Idk how many people will read this but, hey were always striving to something new...like me writing this big long essay on a random video that I would never possibly do in my right mind.

I used to blush a lot in social situations, the painful cycle of being scared about the next time it would happen was so difficult to break.

I was autistic when I was young (technically still am) and had zero social skills, so got bullied all the time for being the weird kid. My dad was also an aggressive control freak who blamed me for everything, so I had pretty bad self esteem up until my mid 20s. I then did a LOT of work and therapy to learn how to communicate and by the time I was 30 I was doing ok and making up for lost time. I'd managed to get away from my dad and moved to the other side of the country, and was gradually healing and feeling normal. But recently I had a boss who would flirt with me, then completely humiliate me in front of everyone when he didn't get his own way, blamed me for things that weren't my fault, gossiped about me with another colleagues, then ignored and isolated me to the point that I could no longer do my job. He made me look like an idiot and I couldn't do anything as most of what he did/said was behind closed doors and he then tried to twist things so I looked like the one in the wrong. It drove me insane, as I felt completely trapped and unable to defend myself as I was always 3 steps behind what was happening. Then when I started to get interviews for other jobs and tried to get out, lockdown happened and I was stuck there for another 6 months. Eventually he got bored and had me sacked, and I didn't leave the house or want to talk to anyone for a year afterwards as I was so messed up by the experience. I know logically that it wasn't my fault and he is just a very miserable, twisted person. But it felt like I was back in school with people laughing behind my back, manipulating me and doing things to embarrass me for fun. It's completely wrecked my self esteem. I've had severe agoraphobia for the last year and only recently started leaving the house again. I'm still terrified of people and paranoid that everyone is staring and judging me wherever I go. For a long time I wanted to get a knife and cut off my face, as he would point out to me how pretty other women were then stare at me or make comments about me going to the gym. I especially don't want to see any of the people that I used to work with, as I still feel like an ugly, useless waste of space whenever I remember what happened. I hate that my life has derailed after I worked so hard to repair things and I'm having to start all over again.

thank you for sharing, my dear. That was incredibly courageous of you. We don't truly know how others/on-lookers observe and judge situations (in your case, your former colleagues). You never know, they might have held deep compassion for you, but the toxic environment made it difficult for them to say anything. Sounds like you did great at reconstructing your self-esteem. You can do it again. You have it inside you, my dear. You are worth the effort.:) You probably already know this, I learned this from therapy: when people show up in our life in a way that mirrors how we were treated in formative years, it's a sign that we haven't let go of our past. Leaving the past geographically doesn't mean we've left it energetically. one thing that helped me let go once and for all was completely and absolutely forgiving the person who hurt me - in your case, your dad and former boss. Do you have friends you can talk to about this? If not, perhaps seek professional help. Talking about it helps. Side-note, this is easily THE BEST time in the past 25 years to be a job-seeker. Employers are desperate for kind, compassionate souls like you. Sending you much love and hugs, my dear. Xx Be kind to yourself.

@@AnisQiz Thanks, Anis. What I really like about your video is the fact that you give practical and simple solutions and ways to tackle the issue.
