@@jg14gerhard_bar In the Autobot version ok but in the Decepticon version that was unfair you sacrifies you for help your leader to kill a traitor and finally when you won you get killed because you are Dommaged. And Megatron was Dead in the second movie but Decepticon still help him.. Like he said the stronger survive survive but he violated this rule and don't be let abandoned by others decepticon..
Barricade: Rookie you don’t want to mess with Optimus. Many decepticons ended up in the scrap yard because they underestimated him. Well. Now we know what happened to bonecrusher in this game
This game has awesome voice acting and story. It truly focuses on the war between the Decepticons and the Autobots. The ending is not the happiest, but it is brilliant! It truly shows Megatron as the true evil being he is, and how inexperienced the rookie was with the Decepticon's philosophy.
The Shiny Sylveon31 ikr I at least thought he was gonna turn up at the end and help fight stars cream or get killed by him in the first also boss fight.
Speaking of the excellent story. I wonder how revenge of the fallen went down in this timeline. Imagine this: Sam does his quest to revive Prime early, sector seven revives some of the fallen transformers via cube shards, your character gets ressurected by the idiot humans using allspark shard and escape. The autobot player from the other ds game becomes your nemesis. Then the egypt battle happens, optimus revies, cue the touch cause megateon has to be stopped no matter the cost. Your 'con fights his autobot rival, optimus sacrifices himself to take out the fallen cause he didnt have jetfire give him a power boost. You avenge yourself and beat megatron. Your rival suceed's optimus. You end up brokering a piece with the new prime due to witnessing firsthand the cruelty of Megatron, and on the condition that your fallen decepticon comrades be ressurected via the matrix. You get a headpat from barricade for being decepticon enough to best megatron. And everything is good until Quintessa revives sentinel prime. There you go,the best sequel to a surprisingly high quality ds tf game that was never made.
But my favourite voice and the most coolest Decepticon voice ever is Blackout.Holy shit man. What an excellent voice.Blackout voice is so edgy,so violent, and screams evil.Blackout is my favourite Decepticon from the live action movies.
I absolutely love how well starscream was handled in this game. His lying and scheming personality was brought to his full potential and the plot twist that revealed him as the main antagonist was perfect. Never saw him as main villain material, but the writers turned him from a spineless coward into one of the most despicable transformers villains ever. The writers shoving optimus prime and Megatron aside as main villains was quite a risky move, but it was worth it. The writers of this game need to be brought back to work on other transformers projects. They know how to make a story and keep it faithful to the original lore
@@unicorntomboy9736 it's because he was brainwashed by Starscream at first. The other Decepticons were loyal to Megatron, while Starscream just wants everything for himself
@@robertlopez7888 I do like the Create-a-Bot in this version far more than in the Autobot version, who was a bit too childish and incompetent to me. I do like both versions of Create-a-Bots in the Revenge of the Fallen sequel DS game though.
3:48 "You Autobots are no better than we Decepticons, We might be a on opposite sides but we're both playing the same game" Now that's a quote that speaks the truth and both sides are playing a Deadly Game
@Nathaniel Winchester I like how they gave Blackout this strange sassy attitude sometimes. Like you'd expect him to be just a no thinking hard hitter like Brawl but he's actually very polite and professionnal sounding. I really like what they made with them, it really felt like an actual group of decepticons rather than straight up monsters without any dialogue.
I played both. Autobots imo has a lot of extra unnecessary missions while Decepticons is more straightforward with a better plot and character development.
@Godzilla fan 2022 productions 2.0 Trust me man, I know his work for Spawn more than any other of his roles, since Spawn is my favourite character and Keith David is one of my favourite voice actors.
Lmao Brawl is an actual child, Blackout is a weirdo, Barricade is a cop, Starscream is a weasle who actually betrays the Decepticons and Megatron IS Megatron. The DS game characterized the Decepticons more than all 5 Michael Bay movies.
32:30 Megatron: will you follow me to victory? Player: Heil Starscream. (Kills Megatron while he's down) Starscream: Isn't my favored pupil wonderful, Mighty Megatron! (Internal thoughts of player) better the psychopath you know and who singled you out as his student, than some bygone frosty relic on his last legs. Brawl: So,what'd i miss? Thus ends the what if tale of "what if Starscream was a good teacher"
*[*Barricade comes charging through,Destroying vehicles to get through.*]* Barricade:Heh...Well look what the traitor brought in. Rookie:We all knew the ending for Megatron...He is just as untrustworthy as what YOU believed of my master... Starscream:Is that so Barricade....? No matter,I believe you will fall just as he did. *ARISE,MY ARMY!!!* Barricade:Your not the only one with a few friends,astro-loss.I suggest you start realizing the power of loyalty. *[*Blackout,Brawl,Frenzy and even Soundwave* (If the game got updated or somethin') *transform from behind Barricade,Sounwave falling from the sky.*]* *[*The Screen fades to black as a Close-Up to the Rookie's face followed by the words-*]* *"END THEM!!!"*
This game I think was more creative than other iterations, particularly the console/pc version. This had more cutscenes, character arcs and development, even a diverse caste of boss fights. Boss fight Stages with Bumblebee, short but sweet fight with Ratchet and Copterbots, jumpy boss fight with Jazz, a calculated fight with Ironhide, and you'd think it ends with Optimus Prime but it ends as Starscream as the final boss flying through the city with the power of the allspark. Additionally, you fight Bumblebee one last time as Starscream and after that get a Decepticon on Decepticon fight! This game is better than people give it credit.
I always did like how this version establishes how professional and competent the Decepticons are supposed to be. Even G1 makes the Decepticons seem pretty incompetent with the same 4 (sometimes 5) people trying to constantly kill each other with little motivation besides simply being evil. In this version the Decepticons share values like respect and discipline (mainly from Barricade), you can at least see why the Decepticons see themselves as heroes of their own story. Now about the movie...
Some Decepticons have discipline and respect like Dreadwing from Transformers Prime, Onslaught in some way and Soundwave, while others like Starscream, Blitzwing and Octane are pretty mucho bunch of jerks who plans to betray or perform schemes on others, Megatron is mostly neutral depending which Decepticons he is with, he respects Soundwave, Shockwave and others, but with Starscream, Breakdown, etc the treats badly when it comes to there whining, incompetence or treachery.
@@darkside9547 The Marvel comics did do things better than most, especially in the UK expanded stories where Starscream and Shockwave used to be the original leaders of what became the Decepticons and Megatron legitimately having friends in the ranks like Ravage and the Insecticons (the last one is weird) it's even implied that killing each other is a taboo even to Megatron (hence why he doesn't kill Starscream or Shockwave). But you still have the problem that a lot of them seem evil for the sake of it.
@Big White Duck Autobots is the same expect, instead of The desert, there is the Artic, but The story and voice acting and characters are better in the decepticons version.
@@drwhite7285 yeah I had the autobots version. Years later I got the deceptions cause I always wanted to try it. The autobots had the most amazing story.
Man, it's a goddamn shame that Keith David doesn't play Barricade as often. He really adds depth for a decepticon character. Noah Nelson wasn't so bad either. EDIT: I especially love how the quality of their voice-acting's not as edited like in the PS2/Xbox/PC/Wii versions.
TCH-3380 , he knew the stakes and he has only diversion so megatron could wake up and cacht them to get allspark, unless he died with decepticon side him.
HT82 Smash Are you kidding me right now? Let me remind you, you’re talking to a guy with 6 million kills and only 1 death. Now tell me how the Joker is better, go on, i’m listening...
God, that would be so amazing. It would also be cool to have a final battle pitting Starscream and the rookie against Barricade, Blackout, and Brawl. Then, after the three are killed, Starscream drinks it in and gloats about how he will never have to deal with Megatron as an obstacle to his ambitions again. He declares that the reign of Starscream has just begun and that "I helped you become a formidable Decepticon that even Megatron could not kill. I have truly taught you well." However, the rookie then says offscreen, "Indeed you have." We then see a sword pierce through his chest, through his spark, and slice upwards through his shoulder. Starscream then falls to the ground, looking at the rookie with shock and betrayal lining his face as his life fades from his optics. The rookie, unlike the Megatron option, demonstrates that he has come to understand the Decepticon philosophy and says to his dying master, "For one so versed in deception and subtlety, you failed to remember one thing that all Decepticons live by: Don't. Trust. Anybody." He then fired into his wounded chest, completely destroying his spark and life force. The rookie then takes the AllSpark and contacts the other Decepticons across the universe, saying that they have defeated the Autobots, but at the cost of all Decepticons on Earth except him (he's obviously lying when implying the Autobots killed them). Since the AllSpark has been claimed, their conquest of the universe can truly begin. After ending his transmission, he then raises the AllSpark above his head proclaiming "All Hail (Insert rookie name here)!"
Realistically, this story was one of the best ive seen in ANY game, let alone ds. The Voice acting is also great, and the fucKING PLOT TWISTS. Transformers Decepticons was the best (and better than autobots). The soudn design was fucking cool too. Plus, it was free roam!! I need to find out who made the sound, and the company who developed this awesome game. True nostalgia.
This was my first ever DS game. It was amazing back then and still has some appealing aspects to this day. Actual vouce acting, fun gameplay, a large variety of vehicle modes to choose from... I'm really glad they made a version exclusively exploring the decepticon side of the story (with an evil ending to go with it)
Elio Sejano I never played the autobot version a whole lot but I like that they cut out the Sam Witwicky plot and focused solely on the autobots for that version. Not that Sam didn't have his small moments in the first movie but I really like that they focused on the actual transformers instead of making them a bunch of supporting characters for some kid who just happens to be the grandson of the guy who saw Megatron in Antarctica.
Elio Sejano YES it cut out so much filler that didn't contribute to the story! It's a shame they don't make video games based on movies like they used to.
4:16. Love the delivery of Barricade's line here. And Keith David's Barricade in general. Getting in any chance to be a bastard :) Totally dismissive, gets the rookie to do stuff for him, rookie gets in trouble for it and then Barricade tells the guy he was doing them a favour, and that's just a couple of cutscenes.
I wish that this game can be put on app store or google play. Until now I have the two versions of this game and it's very fun to play when multiplayer but sadly u can't play online or wi-fi, which gives you the cheats and other vehicles, especially the jet. In this game though, the advantage is that you have jet form using starscream or megatron and tank form using brawl. Sometimes I wish that they also included in the list of scan videos, the military vehicles such as the tank or the jeeps with turrets, heck I wish we can scan starscream to get the jet. LOL
+MARK LOUIE GARCIA I wished that so much times! I've scanned Starscream, Megatron, the All Spark and all military vehicles when I was playing this game for first time.
LOL
MARK LOUIE GARCIA Actually, since I have 2 ds systems and both versions of this, game I Decided to see if multilplayer works...To my surprise it actually did work! I'm not sure if it's local only, but it works for me (although I have no one to play with rip)
I would like to see a new game with this type of development. Anyway, here's a funfact: the megatron's model in this game is the rejected one with other head, meanwhile in the text from below has the finished design.
Unless you went in the back door into the underground base, made your way to the opening barricade came in from, and walked to where Jazz is (who is stuck on the hill wall) and take him out with no problems. He will take damage as you walk through the underground base
I know this old lol 😂 I always wondered the same thing either starscream killed him because brawl was on bumblebee to get the allspark or prime ran into him and killed him
it's implied that he died in mission city. proven by the rookies lines "but barricade and the others" others implies at least more than one died along with barricade. we know blackout died and obviously the rookie wouldn't count starscream so that just leaves brawl as the only possible candidate.
@@tobsonasanya4765 There is more Transformers characters time on the screen and the robots actually feel and are not some linear NPCs without soul or generic narrative. Including Sam in the movies and this strong human activity there was a reduction of the sceeen time of all Transformers, especially most of the decepticons who became important and strong as an ordinary drones. It is no wonder why people feel this disappointment against the Bay movies.
@@eliosejano but this part is more decepticon focused. I don't really see the film doing that unless it was a show. Also what about megatron or starscream here. Aren't they kinda pure evil or something
What's this!? An engaging story thats a lot more interesting than the heroes side!? Characters being interesting and true to whats in the original transformers source material(s)!? An OC with a distinguished personality that's also integral to the plot!? ALL WHILE BEING BASED OFF OF MICHEAL BAYS LIVE ACTION FILM AS A SIMPLE TIE IN GAME!?!?
3:49 ha, I love the clever use of this exchange is in both versions. Also the line “we may be on the same side, but we’re both playing the same game.” So in like two different universes these two decide the fate of the war
Now this game was ok, for but graphics, well what can I say, in NDS graphics will never be that good. Still good video for cutscenes, I prefer the english edition than spanish, but both are fine.
Funny enough, when Megatron beats Starscream, he isn't guilty of anything but failure. "Failure" to overthrow Megatron. Megatron really is a true follower of his code.
Either he took a lot of damage after battling Ironhide, or he went on a rampage through the city and disappeared. You know what Brawl is like. He is a loose cannon without superiors.
The storyline on the ds mode for both autobot and deception is fantastic especially the dialogue. It is shared between all robots equally that I love. So that we actually get to know about the robots in a way unlike the bay formers movies did. The story writers for both ds games need to be revived and put for future transformer games.
I have noticed that in many vehicle forms, Constructacon is cycloptic, and to a degree, he resembles Nitro Zeus, so I decided to write a story based on this game about how Nitro Zeus would have participated in the gaming franchise during and after the War for the Allspark.
I like how the Decepticons were a lot more tactical and the missions were far not strategic in this game, while the Autobots version was more intelligence and peacekeeping. Great and interesting story for this version, but I'm a sucker for the Autobots.
In terms of writing, characterisation and voice acting, I truly believe these games are knockouts. Starscream in particular was flawlessly realised here, and is is one of the best representations of the character in all Transformers media.
Sound effects weren’t my favorite but this story is amazing on both versions. The voice acting and characters are amazing. One of my favorite actors is Keith David and I love to hear him more as Barricade. Some voices aren’t my favorite, Brawl and Blackout sound very stupid compared to the Console versions because they don’t have a robotic filter.
This game was so good, extremely nostalgic And rewatching this I thought: “Hmm I swear I’ve heard Barricades voice elsewhere.” Only to find out it was Keith David and he sounds familiar because of his role as the Arbiter. And then I noticed that when Blackout said certain words they sounded similar to the way some Orcs sound in Skyrim. And once again, turns out he’s the same voice actor lol.
i remember how annoying was it to fight star scream as the rookie and after all my hard work my character gets murdered by megatron god that was infuriating, but i still love this game.
Barricade: 1:41 I didn't ask any help you're going to Slow Me Down rookie 2:42 Yeah and that's why I'm not acting right now you're a liability you don't blame a squat here on Earth scan the vehicle form then we'll talk 3:01 there, was that so hard? 4:02 All you have to do is ask nice 5:08 got a job for you rookie you up for it or you still Roar about me hitting you...?? 4:38 eheh... light up rookie I was just trying to tech you a lesson. 5:10 you're up for it, or you still me roar about me hitting you? 5:16 That's what i like Hear. 7:21 that would make things easier 7:44 Ahhhhhh... 14:04 the core power plant should give me the juice 15:57 great the sheriff's in town 17:52 Because there're weak. Weakness breeds fear. makes every ally an enemy. That's why we decepticon don't tolerate weakness. 18:36 Megatron will have, the ball-bearing to do to your face. now, let's move out. 25:21 Please rest for a moment, Lord. Give your repair systems time to heal you. 21:07 "Don't make me confiscate your weapon chip." 23:37 there must be a control room somewhere 23:42 Bingo finally I've found you 29:40 your own protege later on you
Barricade’s Voice Actor is the same as the Voodoo Dr. from Princess and the Frog. (Keith David) I think he does one of the best portrayals of Barricade in the franchise’s history
6:49 what I like about this scene is that in the autobot version starscream goes to Antarctica himself so I like to think that he went there to try and kill Megatron himself.
this shit was my childhood! i remember playing it in the back of my parents trucks on vacations, and on the way to school, damn do i miss those times...
It really says something when a DS game from 2007 outdoes not only its console counterpart in terms of story, characters and gameplay, but the movie it was based on in the first place. Talk about working beyond the tools you're given.
