I do agree that Studio Series is great but I also think so with the WFC trilogy, Earthrise was a little anticlimactic. We can’t fully hate on Legacy until we see the whole assortment or at least handle the figures when they release in 2022.
Personally, I think the drill is more of a call back to the original 1980's cartoon, because in one episode brawn deploys a drill in the front of his vehicle form to dig under the ocean floor to sneak onto the Decepticon ship/HQ
yeah that was from the 3 parter "The Ultimate Doom". Megatron with space bridge tech brings Cybertron to earth. the chaotic disasters were used for energy collection.
One of the most interesting and appealing things about this Brawn is that he looks more like a Space Marine or a character from the Doom or Halo games than a Transformer.
I personally think Brawn translated probably the best into this aesthetic, along with Soundwave, Shockwave, Optimus, and Wheeljack Can't wait for this guy to be available!
Fair enough, I don't love all of them, but they're decent combinations of the G1 models with the movie aesthetic (mainly the super detailed and panel-y faces)
The vehicle mode feels like it's straight out of WFC/FOC. Those games are one of my favorite Transformers media from my childhood. This figure is an instant buy from me
I think the gap in vehicle mode is excusable because I believe Brawn’s vehicle mode is a cybertronian mine vehicle. Like he mines energon with the drill and carries it in that chamber.
I love the look of this figure because it shares (intentionally or not...) a lot of the same shaping with the Warhammer 40k Space Marines, and Buzz Lightyear (those legs in particular are almost a straight recolour of Buzz!)
We’ve got to thank Hasbro for this great line of TF toys we’ve got for over three years now, thank you and hope to see more great figures for the foreseeable future.
While I love the studio series figures, deluxe classes are waaaay too small now. Voyager classes remained their height as well as the leader classes, but I do hope we get bigger deluxe classes since the smaller figures feels fragile. Not to mention they are more expensive now, but the accuracy of the figures does make up for the price despite the smaller size
Fortunately I was able to buy a combo pack of SS Bumblebee movie Brawn and Ratchet together for $25. That price for both of them feels more like a deal than it would've been buying them separately for current Deluxe prices.
I love him. Can't believe we're actually getting a movie brawn. 😂 The design is great. Looks to me as well that if you tweeked it and scaled it up you'd get a decent bulkhead fig. That alt mode does look truckish.
This figure is just... perfect! They could've put a hinge so the head part would rotate around and actually hide downwards and fully cover that gap but oh well he still looks great!
You know, with that port up front for the drill; I wonder if this mold is going to be reused for Nosecone, giving us a possible Computron at some point in the future.
Prediction: 3rd-party addon. Some way of covering the vehicle's head hole. Best guess is a parts-form piece that simply slips in/over that section, and can be used as a shield in robot mode.
Man, this thing is mid blowing! I can't believe how good he looks! I hope we continue to get these awesome SS figures based on the Bumblebee movie designs.
@@PrimeVsPrime, also they’re the ones that appeal to me the most. I was originally thinking of getting Ratchet but seeing as I don’t really need him I probably won’t now.
To me this is the best one out of the six recently revealed BB movie Studio Series figures. I'll definitely get this one. For your review: I'd like to have seen storage options for the rifle on his back in 'bot mode as it has two of the smaller ports (most likely 3 mm and effect parts compatible), too, and the combined weapon modes: drill pegged into the rifle's barrel and drill pegged on top of the rifle. Edit: And don't wait too long to review Ratchet =P He's a pass to me but I'm really looking forward to Ironhide.
Nice review. The figure looks so fantastic, it’s the one that I’m the most excited for in this wave. Hasbro and Takara have done a stellar job with Brawn. Also, I saw Ratchet at 0:24, so when are we getting that review? lol
im surprised we got brawn on cybertron but not a line from sideswipe or someone else really popular, i just think brawn is kinda obscure for the cybertron scene
Somebody told me that whatever their Cybertronian vehicle form is, is exactly what their vehicle form is on Earth. I’m not too sure if I agree with that, because on Earth he was a Land Rover 4X4 type vehicle, but this looks nothing like that. Here, he looks more like a Cybertronian Slingshot vehicle. ( half car half motorcycle) But anyway, I really like this figure and is looking forward to snatching him up when he becomes available. I also like the Cybertronian Wheeljack figure as well and hope to get him too. Great review. 👍🏾
I love the intro/outro soundtrack of the original transformers g1 theme but more modernized what’s the name of the modernized version of the transformers g1 music / soundtrack
I'm still getting used to the bumblebee movie figures being in cybertron vehicle modes because it would clash in terms of design with other earth based vehicle modes, i could just imagine those cybertronian vehicle modes are from video games like halo vehicles. How do you feel having both earth style/cybertronian style transformers in your collection?
Great video, now I really am considering it! Although the one I am not passing of this batch is Ratchet... looking forward to that review! And I really hope we do get an Arcee too!
As much as I like this mold and am actively looking for it, but I am definitely not happy with how much has changed over the years. I still remember back when people were pissed off when the IDW and WFC/FoC generations came out - smaller toys for the same price. Now we move to today where something like this is tiny compared to IDW Megs or Pax and is also twice the price... not cool Hasbro.
