This is a recreation of Unicron’s attack on lithone using storyboards and unused unused animation. Transformers is owned by hasbro #transformers #transformersthemovie
As an adult, I love how viscerally this shows the horror of Unicron. Like, I always knew that the consumption of a live planet would be horrifying, but to have the music take a back-seat, the destruction and terror present and audible... It almost evokes the feelings of the digestion scene from NOPE, its genuinely unsettling, I love it.
NGL but the screams that were added in this were pretty disturbing and quite yet terrifying with the threat of Unicron. Also I like how you added the storyboards that weren't in the movie .
Yeah, the screams were disturbing but also sad as you can imagine the Lithonian kids we saw earlier crying out in fear for their parents as they die. It's heart breaking but it also make the viewer hate Unicron and wish for his death. When Unicron was destroyed by the Matrix, it made me feel like the Lithonians had been avenged.
That's why they added Vince DiCola's score at the beginning of this scene: those screams would have hit those little kids hard. Had to save that for the death of Optimus Prime.
One thing I have been wondering, was Wheelie before he joined to Autobots actually from Lithone given his suddenly appearance in Planet Quintessal during that time while Kanix and his crew who escaped being devoured by Unicron and was captured by the Sharkticons and sentenced to death by the Quintessons. Wheelie was also around the same age or slightly older than those kids playing in the shopping malls before Unicron attacked.
Wait, wait, wait, you forgot that one scene with the liquid splashing inside unicron from the promo trailer. But you did a nice job on restoring the scene.
not only that, but the animators initially confused Unicron's heart and brain, at 2:22 it shows an engine looking thing which is Unicron's heart, then again at 2:26 I don't even know what that is, but according to the storyboards that's his brain, in the promo trailer, they somehow made both of those into one, a blood clot of some kind enlarging
This scene and Unicron’s destruction bring to mind two things. First of all the victims inside UC still in the process of being “digested”. 2nd how the comic adaption showed the two Cybertronuan moons still intact inside him. It would’ve been nice if the survivors made it on unto the two and expelled from the explosion from his body. To show that he was ultimately destroyed by his hunger by two things. 1st the key aka the Matrix to unlock his auto destruct. 2nd to have the moons cause his physical destruction aka a birth scene. Life from death. To me that would’ve been a better fate for the survivors along with the viewers.
What's the story on Lithone? I keep waiting for that "The Basics on..." Transformers dork to do a spotlight, but no luck; so, were they like a distantly related race of Cybertronians or what?
the basics man did a the basics on kranix who was from lithone, and they're a cybertronian colony, a planet that nova prime colonized during his time on the proudstar
