yeah I really like that fanmode basemode and it will work even more amazingly well if a simple foundation can be made for the elevated parts that come as part of it
Just bought the reissue thanks to you. Your base mode convinced me to do so. I printed his sword and guns. The main problem for me about this figure is the lack of ankle joints...
Nice alternate mode for the city mode. For me, I just lift the legs up, turn them around, put the guns on the sides where Cerebros is, and bend the forearms out of the ramps. It's easier to show than to explain ^^'. I just wish that the middle tower was taller. Maybe if they make a third party add on for the tower. And maybe some longer ramps.
I love this figure. Never added the stickers. Since I don't own Metroplex, I've had to go back and watch the videos about the different components he offered. I've now found 6 modes Fortress Maximus can transform into with all the "secrets" which aren't in the instructions. I think that's one of the major problems with this figure, its playability is much more than the instruction writer knew about. For instance, you can remove the swivel tower from his leg and wedge it into place for the gun turret when you fold out the red panel on his arm that exposes the legends-size seat.
I love this guy because I have literally seen ten separate configurations for base mode that all are better than the lazy Hasbro instructions, I picked up the retail release and am in the process of fully repainting the figure to better match Takara's layout, also gonna give him the BFG from PE Wardens upgrade set after I scratch build a handle that Max can use. I was shocked when you gave him a 9/10, I mean the figure itself has massive room for improvement, lol
I actually like him. you can connect both pm optimus and blaster bases to it and expand the city. giving it more playability. the flying fortress mode even looks nice. cerebros becoming the tower deck is also a nice touch. there's also little pegs to peg in the little head master figures on the flying fortress, city and bot mode. you can connect the other headmaster bot weapons to arm him up in any of the modes. even cerebros is nicely done. he looks like the bot in the rebirth transformers cartoon. and fortress maximus' head is nicely detailed and it has electronics inside. along with the huge articulated robot. fortress Maximus didn't use the gun in Rebirth but Hasbro should at least including the blaster he is holding in the box drawing. which is my minor nitpick.
I like your custom base mode. I love the Fortress Maximus character, and I'm grateful to HasTak for producing a faithful-ish update of the original. But I hope they one day give us a "Poor Man's Fort Max" - like a smaller version of Fort Max at a cheaper price-point - Perhaps a "legion class" version? OR even better - a voyager class version of the character that turns into that battle tank that he turns into in the IDW comics. Besides the Kabaya model kit, every official For Max toy is always the biggest and most expensive.
I can't get over how much better your city mode is then ANY OTHER FAN MODE I'VE SEEN! ;) Check it though just in case u didn't know this it could help not break the toy ect., I noticed on your Metroplex you didn't slide the legs out at the knee sliding joint, and again when you transformed Fort Max to battle station mode you didn't slide his legs IN so the connect together without that gap. *Question; Are the knees, thighs, & arms tighter joints then Metroplex, yes?*
Been watchin yo' vids yo! Badass bros! Watchin Transformers reviews since '06. RU-vid was just 4" x 6" screen. When Peaugh, Dbanks, Optibot, Seanlong, ect. invented th whole "Toy reviewer" thang. YT certainly didn't pay people back then lol. Collected Transformers (+action figs 2nd to Transformers) since out of high school, 1996. :) I have a super giant collection that's crazy, everything Is in its original packaging ;). I'm always getting shit next I got Striker Manus, the Soap Studios Vintage Art Transformer Sofubi Vinyl Optimus Prime, & Bumblebee w Spike, along with Comicave Age of Extinction Optimus Prime. I started reviewing late in the game bc of my location but I produce dope reviews myself since late 2015 I'll be reviewing those figures very soon if your Intersted. Btw your city mode formation for Fortress is dope! :) Superior to alot of peeps. and F.Max IS taller thrn Metro by 1.5 cm ;)

someone has to make a 3rd party add on kit in order to salvage the base mode. there are already several upgrades that improve the robot mode, imo thats not what this needs.
