i did something similar to your tv panel with a big wooden circle i got from home depot. i collect ceiling fans and wanted a 2nd mounting location in my room for display, and my dad wanted a little more than one stud supporting the 2nd fan (which isn't really necessary but extra safety never hurts). so we got thick home depot circle, as well as all the electrical supplies i needed. i then painted the circle and the electrical box in ceiling paint, and my dad mounted it above my bed. i then fed into the box a cord that plugs into the wall and outputs just raw wires so i could wire up the fan. everything works well now, and i made a demo video on my 2nd ceiling fan channel.

I recommend putting painters plastic or covering your Furniture in the centre of the room with something before you start painting and sanding. Also you don’t need to tape the ceiling when you are painting just the bottom of the base bourses to protect the flooring . This is only if you are painting the base boards is when you really need tape. Good job over all and I’m happy that you were able to create your own space.
