I am making my resume right now and I don't know what to put for my "Education" slot. It's not that I do bad in school, I make A's and B's, and meet deadlines, I just don't know what to put to make it any better -
Simply listing an expected graduation date is sufficient for most high school students. If you want, you can also list EdX or Coursera certificates if they're related to the job you're applying to.
I want to finish my paper on Quantum computing and publish it along with continuing to better myself for Engineering. Thanks for this video! My resume certainly needs an update.
For the remainder of my high school years, my goals are to pass my SAT tests with a score of over 1300, pursue advanced classes, participate in extracurricular activities, discover my post-secondary plans, and maintain a great GPA.
for the coursework, is it only for class that you’re taking currently? like if i wanted to include that i took honors bio freshman year, can i put that?

Listing your relevant non-honors classes and omitting the awards section is perfectly ok. You want the hiring manager to get a good snapshot of you. If you have some favorite classes that have helped develop you, list them, even if they’re not honors.
The education sections is hard for me because I have no access to the information of my GPA, and we didn’t take SAT’s cuz if covid and idk who to ask for this information, especially cuz it’s summer time
I would consider only highlighting the course that you think will be pertinent to you doing the job well- maybe honors or ap classes, or something more specific :)
Does a certificate of completion count as a award? For example: FBLA Green Initiative Individual Project Does a competition you won during middle school counts? (I'm a rising sophomore so I don't have much to put)
Things you did in middle school shouldn't be included on college applications, but as a rising sophomore you should definitely include competitions you won in middle school on your resume.
@@dubisbetterthansub5254 maybe they did? You can't just assume they didn't take it seriously, school isn't a "pull yourself up by your boot straps" situation for everyone. Not that simple.

Generally whatever you're applying to will accept ACT/SAT scores in place of each other And btw, plenty of idiots take AP classes, I'm living proof lmao. Some schools require certain grades or qualifications, but mine doesn't so they let my dumb ass in, and I feel bad for my teachers.
what do i put in the education section if my grades were bad, the classes i took are not important to the job im applying for, and i have no awards? (im applying to a hardware store, this is my first job and i just graduated high school)
Bro we don’t have these weird ass Sat and GPA in Canada. What do I do, I’ve had honours 3 years in a row if you don’t know that is having an A average. My average is 88%. I’m taking University French, I don’t know the American equivalent but it’s the highest level we have and I have never gotten below 90% in the 3 years I’ve taken it.
