To take two-three trips a day, six days a week. If you move close to work, then a bus or walk at very low cost and that leaves probably two to four personal purpose taxi trips a week.

To state a range of 130 and not include at what speed that range is associated with is useless. My Zero motorcycle was rated at 115 miles at 45 mph, at 55 mph it would barely go 80 miles per charge.

I think your right, they don't even say what speed will give the machine that 130 mile range, kinda unprofessional, and its because at 55mph its top range with the large battery is going to be closer to 70 miles.

Eventually the 4000 lb steel caged climate controlled lounge couches abused as a standard for personal transportation will have to be taxed into oblivion for environmental reasons. It has regenerative braking from the handbrake lever, the footbrake is a conventional friction brake. I agree that a solar roof might prove a useful addition though, maybe offered as an optional extra? If parked in a sunny car park for 8 hours while at work it might even be enough to cover the journey back home.

@goodfella21f Yes, there is. They have a serial hybrid unit in testing now that is interesting. A tiny 27 cc gas engine that comes on when the range hits 1/2 of battery charge. 250 more miles of driving on a quart of gas.

They can, you can add a solar panel roof. A gasoline generator is an incredibly stupid idea, the whole point is to stop emissions.

They will need less luck than other vehicles since two or the three wheels have independent drive motors. It is up to you to prove these have a problem in snow. Test track videos of these in snow seem to totally prove you wrong and they were not even using cable chains.

I repeat - this vehicle is sold with any body configuration the buyer desires. Open, closed, half open, truck rear end. WHATEVER YOU DESIRE. Closed vehicle is also no good in hot weather. Most of the many videos here about the new Arcimoto show the various body configuration options. If you just want to bitch and troll then flake off.

This is why YOU are not marketing a vehicle and they are.

What is why? I think it would be tremendously fun, to create a go-kart type of vehicle. Electric makes no sense at this point in time. Make it 2 or 4 stroke.

+Ozdy yy Maybe.... Speaking of Tax Credits, I hate how these EVs often work that into the price when that tax credit is often a non-refundable credit. Meaning it will reduce how much you owe the government but if the credit is more then that what you owe it doesn't give you "cash back" to barrow a phrase. (random numbers follow) if say the tax credit was 1500, but you only owed 500 then that 1000 just goes poof, meaning that you didn't save as much on that EV as advertised. I found that out while looking into a PV system for my house.

For someone like me it is perfect, no issues with brake-gas pedal.

+Robbert van der Eem The SRK's not a car. That's the point. Cars are enormously wasteful for the type of driving most of us do every day. Even the Elise is almost twice as heavy, which means twice the mass to throw around in turns and push down the road. If you like the sports car experience, you'll probably like the experience of the SRK more.

+Nedas Urun A little fear is good to make people drive like human beings. Right now our vehicles are over engineered and people drive unsafely because they think they are safe in their tanks. They have no consideration for pedestrians, bicyclists or motorcycles while driving. Reduce the weight of our entire fleet. The only heavy vehicles that should be on the roads are pickups, buses, and big rigs.

Michael, there's a fundamental difference between a cage and a standard two-wheeled motorcycle. You worry about being trapped. I worry about secondary and tertiary impacts after being thrown from the vehicle. With a two-wheeler, there's the primary impact... a tree, a car, a person, or whatever. Then you're thrown x-distance by momentum... into another tree, or car, or person, or wall or whatever. And depending on the speed and surrounding obstacles, your body could suffer additional impacts. In the SRK, you're strapped within a cage. Your body is limited from further injury from rolling down the highway or into a ditch. Could you be trapped? Possibly. But then you can also be trapped in a car. Your fear is misguided. Frankly, I'd like to see some additional side impact similar to their previous generation models, perhaps in the form of a hinged tubular door. It would add weight, but it would provide greater safety. My wife and I drove this vehicle last week. It was an absolute blast to drive and one adopts a motorcycle frame of mind when on the road. Drive defensively and remain acutely aware of your surroundings. This is inherently safer than a two-wheeler.

+mega guy We expect the total cost of ownership over a reasonable time period will be in Arcimoto's favor here. You don't need to buy gas for the Arcimoto SRK, ever. Although the Elio has a higher top speed, the SRK is much quicker off the line, thanks again to the pure electric drive and full clean torque at go. And of course AC and heat will be available on the SRK as well.

tybeejeffro there is not a ton of roof space for solar panels. However, we do have some people interested in putting solar panels on their vehicle. We think the best plan is to plug into solar power at home, then use your SRK to commute to work.
