I worked a temp job hauling red diesel to the port of Long Beach from AZ and returning with trans-mix.....I made more money in six months than I had made in any year I worked..... It also was a very tough schedule slip-seating in exactly 12 hours regardless of any delays.....You are right that the fuel terminals are quite strict and are watching every move on camera to make certain you are following the loading script......Any mistakes are seen and disciplined....
We haul transmix in regular fuel tankers all the time. Load up to the refinery, reload at terminal for the trip down. A variety in between. NWest about 9500-10k gallons.
I really appreciate your video! I need advice..... I've had my CDL for about a year and a half, BUT, I've only driven about 3 months. I live in East Mesa AZ, Is there a company who would hire me to drive a tanker truck (with expected more company training of course) if I go ahead and get my Hazmat endorsement? Thanks in advance!!!
They don't flush out the line. They send one product through, then the next. Where the two meet , is the transmix. They take the slug of t-mix and direct it to the tmix tank. But you were close.
