The most useful tutorial I ever see for TF2, yet the view is so underrated. Keep up the good work man 🙂

Brilliant. I was struggling to expand my basic 1 or 2 track stations, and couldn't figure out why. I somehow did NOT see in the game that there is special station track you need to lay down, omg.

Hi, really happy to hear that I've helped out, thank you. 😊 It often happens that we miss 'simple' things that other people think are 'obvious' ... which is why I love watching other people play, just in case I've missed a trick or two.

Thank you very much! I tried to build a mixed train station and at first could not connect a cargo line to it. Thanks to your explanation I realized that I tried to connect it to the passenger part. After re-connecting it to cargo station part it works perfectly.

Brilliant tutorial. Clear and understandable explanation of the way stations are constructed. Now ithe gameplay makes sense! If only you had tutorials for all the games that I play 😁😁😁

Excellent tutorial thankyou. I appreciate the way you just get on with the subject rather than mucking around for 10 minutes about other issues not relevant to the title matter. I have subscribed - best wishes.

Thank you, great to hear that I could help. 😊 Yeah, the trick is making sure those little external connectors actually connect. Be aware that sometimes when the AI changes city roads or (if you're anything like me) when you make changes to a station those connections can break unexpectedly. So if a new line doesn't work at all or if a previously profitable route suddenly loses money it's worth checking that everything is still connected.

I got problems with cargo stock. There are 2 cargo train platforms (terminal 1 and 2) and the stock only pilling up at terminal 1, and I need also stock on terminal 2 for the train to pick that up. Do you get a solution?
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays Год назад
Hi there, difficult to tell with a screenshot or some other info but: 1) You have two routes, with one going to platform 1 and the other to platform 2? 2) The two routes go to different destinations, _both_ of which want that cargo (or link to another route that will take it to it's final demand)? 3) You have given the 2 routes enough time to settle in? When you add a new route it can take several months before the industries start shipping out suplies. 4) It's obvious, but we all make 'simple' mistakes ... they are both cargo platforms? Hope that helps you work out what's going on. 🤞

So, I'm customising my stations and setting up some end of line / terminal platforms and some through platforms. What I'm finding is that my trains are not using all the available platform space, half of the train does not enter the station, and they're jamming up the lines. When I examine the 'terminals' tab of the station info panel, I see that the platform / terminal number does not appear at the end of the platform, it's about midway down. When the train pulls up to the platform to unload, it doesn't proceed beyond that point where the number appears. So I guess my question is why is the game not using the full length of the platform? Can I move the location of the terminal up or down the platform?
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays 8 месяцев назад
Hi, in most cases I've seen the platforms work properly - that through lines stop as far down the platform as they need to and on terminal/end platforms the trains will stop at the end of the track. When you look at 'Terminals' when configuring the station the terminal number will appear either at the end (for terminal platforms) or in the middle (through, or non-terminated, platforms) . However, I do have one mixed platform freight station where just one of the terminating terminals shows the terminal number at the entry of the station! The train does not move down the full length of the platform but there is no loading penalty applied despite the rain _visually_ hanging out beyond the end of the station. To be honest I have no idea why and I haven't found any way of correcting this. Fortunately the switches are distant enough from the station so that it doesn't conflict with trains on other routes unless I make the train much longer than the platform length. So, unfortunately, I don't think I can offer any answers to this, I'm not aware of any way of setting a specific stopping point on a station or in the Line Manager. What I would suggest is that take a screen shot showing the problem and post this question on the Steam forums and someone with more expertise may know what's going on. 🤞

@@AjaxpostPlays thanks mate. That's exactly the issue I'm seeing, the terminal number is at the entry of the station on a terminating terminal. I was able to fix it by reconfiguring my station and using only platform pieces, and not any passenger buildings at the end of the track.
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays 8 месяцев назад
That's excellent! Happy to hear that you've fixed it. I was wondering if I removed the buildings at the end of my faulty platform it would work correctly so I'm delighted to know that is a fix - I'll have to check my setup again to see if I can remove those buildings...

How do you get people in stations
@AjaxpostPlays
@AjaxpostPlays Год назад
Hi, First off, make sure you place a Passenger Station (we've _all_ made that mistake!) If you're placing it on or near a road look out for the blue lines connecting the buildings with the road, they mean people can walk into the station. If there is no nearby station when you place it then lay a road close to one of the buildings and make sure that you can see blue connectors linking the road and station - you should also see an area of the town turn white - that is the range of the station. To check, click on the station and see how much of the town lights up white. If none, you need to connect a road, if not enough then add a bus route in the town with bus stops that connect the different zones of the town to the station. You can see me doing this in the early episodes of one of my Lets Play series. Hope that helps. 🤞
