Today I share how to eliminate trash, fisheyes and orange peel in your diy paint job and clear coat. I'll share how to remove a clear coat run for the best results. If you follow these simple steps you may save your automotive paint job. This is the same process to remove any imperfections or orange peel in you clearcoat.

It's not often you see pro painters show you their mistakes or problems with the finishes so it's great to see you keeping it real Chris and showing us how to fix paint defects👏🙏👍John UK

Sir how are you? I really appreciate the video. I was curious if this process would work on what appears to be hard water stains on my paint. This happened after someone threw a contaminated wet rubber mat on my car. I’ve already tried rubbing compound but it was to no avail. It looks like this process may work and I’m going to try.

Beautiful job as always Chris! I am disappointed you didn't denib and buff the masking tape as well. Would have made for a complete job right before you unmasked it all. On a more serious note, I been using 3m wet/ dry for years. Not always a uniform scratch for me especially on fresh clear. Seems I am always chasing stray scratches caused by longer abrasive particles on the paper. Do you have a similar experience? If you get a chance try one of those 1500 or 2000 grit Meguiar's unigrit sheet packs. It is from the Nikken Japanese paper company. Cuts faster than even the Kovax (which I love and use wet when they are about done) and since the Unigrit are electronics grade particles the scratch is so consistent it Trizact's out instantly. Thanks as always for the videos!

Intresting? I'll checkbout that sandpaper. Yes always seems to be some stray scratches when buffing. Frustrating!
@Aaron-tv6fs
@Aaron-tv6fs 4 месяца назад
The stray scratches you’re referring to are from clear coat balling up on the paper. You hear the sound of wet sanding change and you stop, clean your paper and surface and proceed. When I was new at wet sanding I had your issue. Deep scratches here and there. It was 100% because I wasn’t “using my ears” and it was 100% clear coat balling up on my paper

Thanks for the good video. I see you chose the rotary buffer, as you described the orbital buffer as more forgiving. What is the 'disadvantage' of the orbital polisher/buffer compared to the rotary buffer? Phillip Hall
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Год назад
Orbital doesn't cut quite as quick but that's about it. The orbital creates less swirling and is less aggressive a good choice if your a beginner or pro

What is the clear that you like the most that you use and what is your favorite clear gun?
@Danno74Z
@Danno74Z Год назад
What a good video! Quick questions. What clear did you use? You said you put an additional coat of clear over the fish eye after sanding smooth but you did not sand the entire door until afterwards prior to buffing. Won't the clear peel where you did not sand? Maybe I need to watch the video again😉
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise Год назад
When I added the clear it was still curing so basically I put 3 coats of clear. I used upol spot panel clear.

Wait, I can add clear coat to the tiny craters in my black paint job? Would I use an artist brush or something of the sort? Sorry, found your video on that subject. However I have a new question...where do you buy your Trizact? I would really like to buy them individually...or 5 packs rather than 25.
@GarageNoise
@GarageNoise 10 месяцев назад
Some Oreillys sell them. You might be able to get a job pack on Amazon.
