You have my eternal gratitude!
I've had these four TRS-80 computers (Model 3 and Model 4) sitting in my garage which I rescued from the trash. I think it's high time I got around to resurrecting them. Can I save all four of them?
Here is some info on the diagnostic ROM I used:

• Let's talk: Our brand ...
Huge thanks to ‪@adriansdigitalbasement‬ and all of the co-authors of the diagnostic ROM. Your code is out here saving lives!!

I use that word so casually, I inadvertently convinced a young, fledgling engineer that it was a technical term! 🤣 Oops. Had to show him the episode lol.

I can't believe this is the first time I've seen a TRS-80. It looks like these are certainly in gentle, skilled hands.

Awesome video. It was quite satisfying watching the disassembly and cleaning portion and fascinating witnessing the troubleshooting process. It actually brought a smile to my face when the thing kicked on and started doing stuff; I got a surge of excitement! Great job. I hope to see some more content like this.

Hey - Loving these videos. These are what I was brought up with at school and it is nice that you can see more how they work. Unlike everything these days which are just a few chips on a mainboard. Hopefully you make many more!

@@miketech1024 People who owned them and liked them never called them Trash-80's - that was primarily a term used by Apple II fans.

I just removed all the paint at the front side of my Model III's keyboard. Half of it was already gone and the remainder gave up quite easily.

....I went to a couple Adult Education Schools and found what I thought would be Useful skills/Knowledge. It was during this time I signed up for their Typing Class. At one school, I learned to type and began to learn about writing in BASIC. What was so good...kinda...was in one school, we were only doing book learning of BASIC, at the school, I could run those BASIC programs, run them and print out the programs for the class.

OMG, Mike....the TRS 80, model III is the very first computer that I got to use..back in 1981-82-ish. The school used them to help teach BASIC...it was really 'basic BASIC'. That language was a great starting point if you wanted to go into computer programming. The class wasn't 'great'...but it was Good. On the first day, we were all given a 5" floppy and before you turned the computer on, you inserted the floppy and I'm guessing...that its operating system was on the floppy...and the machine itself had a volatile memory. We didn't get into the Tech aspect of the TRS-80, also known as The Trash 80...was kind of cruel but those people loved their Amegas
