I totally get it! I live in Scotland and SO many people tell me I'm lucky to live here, which I agree with, I love it...but I want to get the hell away from here and travel the world! I think next year will be the year I give up my job/life and go backpacking...

Your answer at 2:32 just confirmed you as one of the most awesome people. You are good at life. And it wasn't even a response to MY question LOL! I'm very thankful that you've found that you can burn out while traveling. It's happened to me, where I've been underslept, undernourished, under-everything while traveling. Taking care of basic human necessities is HUGE when traveling and people try to do so much sometimes that they forget their own health. People get sick while traveling a lot, and it isn't just exposure to foreign germs--it's self-neglect too. Happy to know you're giving yourself the care you deserve =]

I understand taking your own Country for granted. I live in Canada as well and since starting backpacking I have started to explore Canada more in terms of hiking in back country backpacking and its almost just as amazing.

Love it! Some great answers here - totally agree on the zigzag pattern of travelling and down time. And on the washing clothes while travelling question - my life is so much better since I started only buying clothes which are easy to wash on the go.

Random question. What do you use for audio? indoor vs when you are facing the wind. I have the blue snowball for indoor, but haven't decided what to do when I'm outside on the boat without having the crushing wind noise all over the place. Love your channel btw :)

As far as doing laundry, look in the "Scrubba" I used one when I was backpacking in Costa Rica and it was pretty handy, and much cleaner than a sink!

Haha when u mentioned laundry! I just got back from iceland and I had to do laundry in a river.. It was f-ing freezing! Also took a shower/washed clothes in a waterfall... Near a glacier... Also f-ing freezing! 👍 Love all your videos!

It is cheaper to travel the rest of the world than it is Canada. I couldn't even afford to fly from Toronto to Ottawa. We get bamboozled here on flight prices. Even Via Rail isn't cheap.

u can buy the travel size packets of laundry detergent in the trial/travel sized section of the big chain pharmacies and target. I find Walgreens and target to have the best selection

I would suggest at least having a hotel set up for the first few nights, so that you have some where to settle without getting ripped off., and then work your way from there.

Hey Nadine! I love your channel so much. I am currently living in Florida and am in college, but I have a crazy restlessness that seems to only be eased through traveling. I am orgininally from Canada, but moved here when I was 8-- so besides traveling back to my birthplace, I wanted to know what was the best, most inexpensive place to travel out of college by yourself? Sure- first of all, my favourite rooftop bar/club/outdoor space is called klunkerkranich in the Neukölln neighborhood. My favourite breakfast bakery is called Zeit für Brot on Schönhauser Allee - it's an organic bakery with awesome coffee, right in the city center close some nice shopping areas (Münzstrasse) Of course, don't miss out on the museums and galeries and if the weather is nice, do a boat-sightseeing tour. Berlins streetfood is pretty amazing, we have great markets with various arabic and eastern european foodstands- my favourite market is on the riverside "Maybachufer", you can enjoy some nice music and delicious falafel by the river. If you're up to some culture, try to see a show at the Schaubühne theatre (I love plays by Thomas Ostermeier and often they have english subtitles, the Hamlet production is pretty legendary) or a ballett, tickets are usually much cheaper than in the US. Finally: check out Simon Dach Strasse for cosy bars (my favourite: Sziempla, they have a great beer selection). ok, i hope that helps, have fun on your trip!

Your tips are really helpful. I really want to ask about luggage handling when moving in between country. When moving city to city, do you carry luggage with or is it locked away in another city and move back or forth?

im not nadine, but a tip i have is if your going to start at one place eg rome, and in between your trip you come in the same place, keep some luggage at the hotel, often they let you do that..
