Uears ago, after visiting the awesome art museum in Roppongi, I was really hungry. I went on my own into a fancy restaurant and felt so out of place in my travel clothes amd casual shoes. I didnt know much Japanese at the time, and ordered a salad. This enormous bowl of salad arrived all for me, and I realised it was like a sharing sized bowl. I was embarrassed. The waiter was embarrassed for me. I just sat in this mostly empty posh restaurant eating the salad. Hahahaaa.

The NCAT gallery was the highlight of two weeks in Japan. Roppongi was a knockout. I have seen more Maybachs in 5 days than in my lifetime. Stood on that spot last week. It’s a knockout.
Thanks! We will be here after Christmas before year's end. Looks like the Christmas light show will be over; hopefully, there will still be plenty of beautiful lights. It will be my 3rd trip to Japan this year😎
Wow, Roppongi and Azabudai Hills, what a feast for eyes. First of all the architecture is great, especially the new highest building in Japan, but above all everything decorated by so many artistic pieces - I remember the Spider from your earlier video. For me the outside is more intetesting, the inside is as usual - typical for shopping malls. Especially nice are various leveles in the garden used for cafes outdoors and strolling around while using stairs. It must be really enjoyable, even in November when you have a daily 20°C. Your lunch at the Chinese Restaurant was thanks haevan not too spicy and the view overlooking the Tokyo Tower was astonishing. Really, it might be said that the fancy vibe of the city is everywhere. I am not supprised that Dior uses it for advertising purposes. The lightening of the Tokyo Midtown was great as ever. Especially the look from the bridge over the street was captivating. What a pleasure to stroll with you there at night. I am sorry that you were freezing a bit while enjoying your ginger coffee at the terrace, due to the wind and nightly temperature drop. I have to repeat it over and over - just a stunning video! We, as regular viewers, have been generally spoiled by your hard work making it a standard quality level, so we cannot expect anything less than that, dear Rion. Therefore, there is nothing left to us but to keep on walking happily with you into new advenures. GAAOOO!!
Loving all of the biking segments in your recent videos! Those shots are lovely. I wonder if you hold your cam with one hand while biking, or do you let it chill in the basket? 🤔 😊 Keep up the awesome winter adventures. Lets keep walking 🎉
'Tis the season to be jolly on the 1st day of December! Such a beautiful Mori garden, a relaxing place to visit one day. Oh, a must-try ginger bread coffee! Nice Azabudai hills biking tour at night!😊
So fun to experience so many things virtually through this video that I could not IRL-eat yodaredori (grew up on non-spicy Cantonese food, but I love spicy 🔥), sanpo around Tokyo Midtown (zoomed past on my way to the National Art Center ☕️), biking in the city (parents never took off my training wheels 😅), and try that holiday Starbucks drink (been busy, but I will thanks to gift cards from my students 🎄). Thank you for capturing & sharing these beautiful Christmas lights, especially for those of us who cannot travel to Tokyo during this season. ✨
Starbucks Japan has a good and a lot of options, most specially on their tea lattes! (Also, they have an Almond Milk as one of their non-dairy milk options!!! I’m sooo happy ✨)
@@paripitiffany so true!!! Did you visit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo? If I’m already in love with the regular Starbucks Japan, that place made my love for Starbucks Japan even deeper! My friends and I had an ✨awesome✨experience there👌❤️
@@mojojowan I didn’t 😢 Maybe I will during sakura season, sitting outside on the balcony while watching them 🌸 I’m so happy for you! I wanna know more about it! 💖
@@paripitiffany oh! That’s the perfect season to go there since it’s located along the Meguro River! 😃 You’ll have a perfect spot for sakura viewing 🌸✨
6:21 Yes, that’s a spider sculpture. Maman Spider Sculpture to be exact and it was made by Louise Bourgeois in honor of her mother. 😊 I went to the Mori Art Museum to check the sky view deck observatory but unfortunately it’s closed until further notice 😭 As always, thank you so much for sharing this episode to us. Tokyo’s Illumination shows/events are really on point 👍✨ Take care and God bless! 😊 🙏
I don’t think I’ve ever related to you so much as with this video Rion 😅 “very fancy, look at this fancy thing. I think I can live off of this necklace for years…” Yes that is a nice version of all I can think about in Roppongi Hills and TM 😅😂 I feel so uncomfortable there.
i studied japanese (through anime and language school) but never use it. now i 復習 (don’t know the word in english) because i will be going to japan on dec 18! hope i can meet you!
I'm really looking forward to exploring the new Azubadai Hills building. Was there any news of the TeamLab Borderless Exhibition opening? It says Early February 2024 but tickets are not on sale yet.
Interesting hearing you speak mandarin! What you said translates literally to "No spicy peppers." 😁 Would love to hear you speak more Mandarin for fun! Love this video. Let's keep going! 555!
Chinese food in the south, Cantonese speaking areas including Hong Kong, is not spicy. In the north and west, Chinese food of those areas are on the spicy side. As a Cantonese person, I’m also not great with super spicy food.
I am Chinese from HK. My parents are from Canton. Cantonese food is not spicy at all. Chinese in different part of China has very spicy food but Cantonese food is definitely not spicy. I speak Cantonese and not what you spoke in the film Mandarin.
may I suggest you to decrease the volume of background music, I love your videos it is so good quality and beneficent for me who planned to travel to Tokyo soon, so it's just minimum request from your new little viewer who found your magnificent channel recently and became the fan of your. 😊😍
