Jay talks about the differences of traveling at age 75 versus age 65, 55 or younger. He examines how his and Tanya's travel style as changed over the years and in the ways it hasn't. Are you traveling differently than you did 20 years ago? What are the differences? What has stayed the same?

Very helpful information. Kevin and I want to travel but I feel intimidated by the unknowns. Your videos are helping me to learn about traveling.

Thank you so much Joyce. Although there are always unknowns when traveling (like Tanya breaking her wrist in Munich), I'll try to keep covering things that will hopefully make it less intimidating. Very best Christmas wishes to you and Kevin and have a happy and prosperous new year.

My wife and I agree with your comments 100 %. We travel every year, are in our mid 70's, and have also been fortunate to have good health. We have travelled by many different modes (i.e) B&B, hotels, bus tours, river cruises, etc. But there is one method that we've been doing for the last 10 years (all in Europe) that is by far our favorite. We rent a motor home and travel all around Europe. We usualy travel in the shoulder season (spring or fall) and make no reservations anywhere. If it's rainy or cold in one direction we'll go in the opposite direction. We generaly go to smaller towns and villages. It's been a wonderful method for us to explore Europe and always meet new and interesting people, who are also from other countries and exploring. We have changed how we travel and are starting to shorten our trips but still basically do the activities such as a lot of walking wherever we are.We enjoy your videos and always look forward to the next one. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment, Ralph. Like Rick Steves says, "keep on travelin'".

I turn 70 in two weeks. I have slowed down a lot in the last five years. We keep a home in the Philippines and one in Iowa. My wife is Filipina. The plane ride is much harder for me from USA to Cebu in Philippines. 15 hrs to S. Korea, 1 hour rest and 4 more hours. 20 hours total. So my wife schedules a motel stop right after we get off the plane. We used to push on to our home. I almost can't do that anymore. This is only one concession of many we have made to my age and infirmities. I am just to happy be able to travel. Another concession is taking the first 2 days after travel to allow me to recover from jet lag and 14 hr time difference.

Thank you for your comments. We certainly can relate to the long plane rides. While it doesn't make the ride any shorter, we have adopted our own rule that any flight longer than 3-4 hours, we'll fly premium economy. It makes things a bit more comfortable. We also find, as you do, the rest time after travel is critical. It sounds like you still have a good attitude toward travel and good for you to keep going. Have a good new year!
