Oh I'm far from perfect. And over the years I've fallen off and picked it up many times. But it's not how many times that you fall that matter it's how many you get back up 👍
Well timed video. I didn’t start my monthly calendar/log for April and felt all over the place last week. No order to anything I did. I took the week off of work anyway and told myself it’s okay to falter a little and got back on that horse.
100% just pick up the planner and get going again :) its amazing how you now your re off the rails just from not writing a few things down each day lol
My ADHD brain means I struggle to do ANYTHING every day, regardless of how much I might enjoy it. I come close with my morning planning and journalling system, but there are days where I just... don't. And that's OK. One thing I regularly remind myself of is that my planning and journalling exist to serve *me*, and not the other way around. So if I skip a couple of days, that's fine. If I skip more than that and find myself struggling to get back into it, it usually means something about the current system isn't serving me, and I need to play detective to figure out what it is and how I need to change it so it works better for me again.
I love this channel! It's so good to see a bloke using his journals and to get his perspective. I'd love to know where you're from? I'm an East Yorkshire lass.
There definitely was a shortage of Blokes using journals I must admit, When i 1st got in to bullet journaling it was a nightmare to find men’s opinions. Now it’s much better and im hoping im adding to the pool of resources. I’m from the not so sunny side of West Yorkshire :)
@manvstationery ha, I thought you were a Wessie!! I think it's great that more men are sharing their planners. I'm a really functional planner, and I honestly don't understand the thing of loading pockets with ribbons and decorated paper clips etc. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and some decorated planners are beautiful, but my brain is too busy, so I need simplicity. I wish you good luck and I hope your channel grows! Xx
For me what has worked so far is that I use the weekly planner for my office to do’s and I keep a blank one for notes. My little one I use for my personal stuff and notes in a more free way (only making a monthly page that I think I will re-arrange). And my calendar and appointments I put them on my phone. I do have a love/hate relationship with the persuit for perfect analogue planning, I guess we all stationary/planners enthusiast experience this at some point lol
Having kept a Bullet journal for over 10 Years I’ve seen myself slip quite a few times lol. So much so i know the system to get back on track :) I just need to ember I don’t need to buy another notebook to do it hahaha
To be honest waterproof never bothers me as I never intend to get enough water on a page that it washes the ink off. So I simply pick an in I like, at the moment I'm using Robert Oster bronze
Dude I can’t keep up lol at times and I use to do an after then pen and I can’t sometimes and I have weeks I’ve created and not used. But great video!!
@@PracticalPlanswithRey I keep it simple so less friction when doing it, Monthly allows me to do todos with no real date then daily’s keep me on track :) Ive done many systems and this works best of for me …….. I 100% think K.I.S.S (Keep, It, Simple, Stupid) is the only system that works for me hahaha
@@manvstationery lmao 🤣 I like that! I had to fluff mine up to keep me going with it and somehow ended up just this past year in sept got on social medias and RU-vid and saw all these people doing this and was floored! But yeah gotta definitely do what works. My monthly I use as a jump start for the month and use it to edit my weekly and daily stuff
