I'm so glad your trip went better than expected. It can be difficult visiting places connected to your trauma, let alone having conversations about it, in which I can understand and relate to myself. It's great to hear that you had what sounds like a much needed conversation with your mom and that you were able to release some things that have weighed on you, or at least have helped you better process some of your experiences. I appreciate and admire you for being open and honest as well. Wishing you all the best Michelle and love the hair!

You can heal the line by seeing and changing. You start a new family "home" and invite people to it. You help others when you're strong and honest and not living in Topeka. I think it's both real and magic. There's so much genuine love in these comments... A true accomplishment here in RU-vid land :)

I’m glad you had a better trip than you thought you would and had some fulfilling interactions with your family and friends. I live across the country from my family and I think about all that nurture type stuff all the time. Its very obvious when people have never really gotten outside of their home town or family, whatever they were born into. Its crazy to me how much it effects how people are. Sometimes its very evident I’m different from people I’ve grown up with, because what I have experienced afterward, and sometimes they are the only people that really get some parts of me or have certain values in common with me. PS Love the blue hair!

Glad that stuff went better for you than expected. It can be valuable to work through that stuff instead of pretending it doesn't' exist.

you know what makes you so cool? first, you were brave enough to face your feelings about revisiting your anxieties and choose new courses of action instead of reacting on emotion, on TOP of that you shared it all which gives other people going through similar situations some hope and guidance. that's some amazing stuff michelle, thank you for existing and doing what you do 😍

Oh regarding "mask country", I feel that it's a great bit of irony. Liberals say they are "non conformists" yet they seem to rely heavily on the state and the government to tell them how to think and what to do. When I see more conservatives taking a stance against mandates with masks and vaccines, it seems more a spirit of individualism and freedom. I guess in a way, we all conform, but from my personal experience as a conservative , the liberals seem to be more closed minded in a lot of ways. "I reject the Lord Jesus, because I'm a free thinker" etc. oh well.

Do you have any evidence anecdotal or otherwise of Liberals saying they do what they do because the government tells them to? I do in general agree based on what I have read from conservatives directly that they believe masks and vaccines should be an individual decision based on freedom and individual choice. I can't speak for all liberals but speaking for myself maybe it's the NeFi, but it's not possible for me to value my individual liberty over that of family, friends, and even strangers. If I caused someone to get covid and die (I do have immunocompromised friends) because I valued my freedom from wearing a mask and getting a vaccine that should also help me from getting sever covid I don't think I could live with myself.
