yes there is a tool if someone hasn't told you by now, you can get them at most any store that sells car tools and it looks like a pair or pliers but pull apart when squeezed and makes the job a cake walk.
Hey my British friend! How are you? I must've missed this vid when you first uploaded it but I'm glad you finally got your steel gears for your revo. The things gotta be near bullet proof now lol. I'm getting my 8ight t 2.0 brushless truggy ready for this year tonight. Can't run it till spring but I've got a lot of setting up to do. It's so damn cold here though lately. Hasn't been above freezing in at least 2 weeks. Ha

Dan Mccumber Hi, its a robinsons racing products set. I went with the widest ratio possible with the optional 2nd gear and the wide ratio set aswel. I think the 2nd gear was a 43t i could be wrong tho. Sorry ive taken so long to reply, if you are still intrested in doing this mod either for the revo or tmaxx. Im happy to help anyway i can. @@velsor86 no it’s a two speed, well it’s supposed to be. My damn second gear just spins. I’ve no idea as to how it’s supposed to grab anything. There’s nothing! And the “electric clutch” or what he spoke of, the shiny circle, it seems like it would maybe work if it were made backwards. But that doesn’t work either.
You can just go on Amazon and get some 5mm hardened steel shafts and mod1 pinion gears and convert your trans to single speed no reverse. You'll need to reuse the spur gear shaft.
Im converting tmaxx3.3 grey transmission and i need to have all metal gears? And if i use theese can i lock up the second gear so i can use electric esc for reverse
Throw away first gear, Dremel grooves in throw out mechanism inside the second gear to match up with 4 of the holes in second gear...take 4 m4 screws and thread into second gear aligning up with grooves in the metal throw out thing to holes.......now it's full positive traction for brushless electric.....only way to do it to electric..of gears are all metal, you'll have to tap threads into holes...if plastic just thread them into holes, it'll cut it's own threads
2001pontiacta Hi they are robinsons racing products steel foc kit. You mayb able to just instal a single gear and improve the durability. The forums will say which gear for sure. But i think its 1st gear they recommend swapping.
As long as everything is aligned it should work have it placed like the video then for the case on so yoy know the gears are in place or you can try to fit it the other way super easy there a lot of videos of forward only conversions for the revo 3.3 it’s plastic in those videos but same difference hope that helps

I finally got my hands on a Robinson set just like this. And my second gear doesn’t grab. It spins freely either way and the gears on either side of it only spin one way. WTF have I missed???? I’m beyond pissed off as you said the instructions are total SHIT, and this is the only video that I’ve found having nearly anything to do with this. Help!!!!
I gotchu, search up forward only conversion revo 3.3 watch the most recent one from 12-14 days ago take it apart like in video and put it back together make sure to take out all the peices and follow it directly pause video if needed, I broke my revo trans on 3rd day never used a nitro before and I changed it to forward only fairly easily with the video if you neeed anymore help let me know don’t forget to search how to oil those steel gears ⚙️
??? I planned to use an LRP .32 with the New Era engine mount but didn't get to it. Shortening the crank on the .32 halted me. But was still a picco26 revo. Burst 1st gear before. The whole truck was around 12lbs total lol actually. Over powered. My friend built an OS18 vantage lightweight version. I had an rcsolutions tank.
