I also saw some people were getting sand and dirt in their rear axle through the sides (wheel driveshaft)so they filled it with some grease then inserted the driveshaft.
Good Morning Alex, I just purchased one of these and noticed a massive amount of heat at the read diff. I see this as abnormal but would like your observations as well. Do you suggest an aluminum rear axle cover? I can't bring myself to spend $225 on that part.
Thanks for comet I would recommend taking the rear diff apart and make sure that the bearings ain't locked up or really naughty feeling they roll smoothly if they are starting to get naughty sometimes you can take them apart clean them with brake cleaner and then put some wheel bearing grease in there and it'll help that make sure the rain gear is properly lubricated and there's no binding in the drivetrain when you take the whole axle housing off spend the pinion gear and see if it spins smoothly in the axle that is what I would recommend and go from there aluminum axle would help with heat just a little bit but that is pretty expensive just to spend on an axle and I don't think it would fix your problem to be truthfully honest sorry it took a couple days to respond to the comment

U must be on the udr owners on the Facebook page seen guys doing this to there trailing arms I’m still on the fence if I wanna buy some aluminum trailing arms
I would recommend using a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel die grinding wheel very carefully cut a slit in the screws use a small flat head screwdriver with a good tip on it and loosening that way and replace the screws hopefully that will help
Alex rc freak the screw comes out but it doesn’t tighten anymore that’s the issue. So when I put the 4 screws back it leaves an opening in the seem of both the side housings. And I thinks that’s why when I press the gas I hear some gears skipping
