Fun fact: in Micron Legend, this big lad is Ultra Magnus, and is pretty much just a weapons platform for Optimus. It never transforms into robot mode and is never treated as a sentient being.
This guy was my very first Transformer. I kind of regret giving it away now, but I could never get it back to trailer mode as a four year old. Hopefully one day an updated version will be released.
Suddenly realised that I probably have actually handled that Ultra Magnus when a lot of Energon stuff came in and Jay was trying to work out what it all was.
I've seen that kind of "slide one part onto another separate unattached part" before! It's how GaoGaiGar's arms work, with the jet engines sliding off their struts and onto the robot arms. I have to wonder if that's an inspiration. I've also seen it on Kingdom Ultra Magnus.
Hey Gav, just a small tidbit. Minicon ports on his legs should be on the outside in bot mode. Let's his legs move independently and properly attach in vehicle mode.
That Diaclone Reboot battle Convoy, or whatever he's called, kinda looks likes this guy. Saw it recently and thought it was some third party take on this Overload. I like when a little vehicle plugs into the chest of some massive armour thing. like with Powermaster Prime. Makes it looks like some absolute beast thing that's gonna fight a giant monster or something.
Thanks for the shout out once again Gavin. Oh and not to make things more inviting for visits but for a limited period it is 50% off preowned Transformers and more from our glass cases in the store!
I think something like that shin slide-over thing happens with the most recent Ultra Magnus toy, except it involves his backpack, or something like that. An astounding 'not quite parts-forming' move that somehow reminds me of Rubik's Rings.
@@wolkaiserdrake9946 who really knows for sure. if they ever put out that armada prime prototype, it would be a hoot to see jetfire and overload return with blast fx
