It's amazing how Lightspeed can be so sleek in vehicle mode but have the body of a middle aged pub going dad in robot mode. Truly he should be the base form for a Transformers X Jeremy Clarkson figure.
It was always so weird that the Technobots have war freak personalities (except for Nosecone). You'd think they'd be scholars but, nope, they want to watch things explode. Must be cuz they're made with Unicron parts. And Grimlock's stubby dino arms, hehe Afterburner really does have a fun cycle mode. I played with him for hours, rolling all over the place.
Not only one of my favorites but Compy was the very first combiner set i was able to fully complete as a kid. Ironically it's the only one I managed to hang onto, accessories and all, all these 83 years later. I have a handfull of G1 limbs and accessories from other combiners but Compy is still fully loaded. Great review as usual.
This is my first time actually seeing these guys on video and not in one of the tiny TF wiki pics and I got to say, Scattershot looks incredible. The sculpting, the really interesting transformation where his legs fold up around the sides of his chest, the colors etc. I always felt compatron as a combiner was kind of like, fine, real middle of the pack, but im really in to Scattershot now. Also as always a great laugh to be had, always a joy to get called names by a youtuber lol
I absolutely LOVE the Technobots. Each and every one of them I played with for hours and hours as a kid. Still love them. When MAKETOYS came out with their QUANTRON version of them, I spent the full $400 for the set.... TWICE. The second set I bought when I was very very drunk one night. (And I see a lot of you nodding in recognition here....)
I think the technobots are my favorite autobot combiner team and possible top three overall. As a kid, I only had Afterburner. Which may have been my last transformer toy as a kid before other things caught my fickle attention.
Great review Mister Spence. Still have my childhood Scattershot and Afterburner. Afterburner is still one of my favourite G1 figures and still my favourite motorcycle mode in the franchise.
My most-beloved combiner set as a kid. I played with Afterburner so much I practically eroded him to nothing. I have a photo of myself at, like, 8 years old eating breakfast, and Lightspeed is right next to me nibbling my toast. All that, and I had no %@&$&ing idea the chestplate could connect to the spaceship mode. [head explodes]
Y’know, everyone always thanks Gavin when he puts out a video, but I say no. Upload two videos that are exactly the same. We’ll watch both of them. Trust me.
I had the original G1 Technobots. I loved them. Against my Terrorcons, he was fantastic. But my fun didn't end there. I LOVED Scattershot's spaceship so much, he was my Liberator when I played Blake's 7. Yes, I am that old.
I truly enjoyed this video just as I have every single one of your past creations, by myself, in the dark, eating a sugary snack whilst sitting in my pants
Though I wasn't around for G1 at the time, I used to be able to watch the show on Netflix when I was younger, and I remember discovering these guys on their debut episode and loving the concept and character of this futuristic computer combiner and his abominable counterpart. Fast forward to Combiner Wars, and while I couldn't get them some of the design changes like a monotone face mask and the fact that Computron was even available, further my love for the character. I would love to see the Technobots revisited in some future Transformers show or movie, there's a lot of cool stuff that could be done with them.
YES. They are officially The Best Ones. I now dearly wish I'd just bought one of those knockoff sets instead of trying to assemble my own from G1 auctions on eBay.
Back in the day (back in like, 2007), I went to Walgreens and got 3 bootlegs, the center jet of the Breastforce, Lightspeed, and Strafe. Only one of the bootlegs that still survives (as far as I can remember) was Strafe. I enjoy the mold, even if I didn't know it was a combiner back in the day, poor plastic and all.
If you're still planning to go through with it, I highly recommend the Unite Warriors version. I really love what they did for Strafe and Nosecone over their CW counterparts.
Definitely not my favourite combiner either but there is still so much to enjoy from those G1 toys, just the orange plastic is enough to give me a nice feeling.
Im still kinda beefing with Hasbro super quietly (they have no idea) because i couldn't get a CW Computron set (unless i wanted to drop 500 bones-ish) and i want a damn Computron roar
I normally hate motorcycle Transformers but Afterburner was amazing. Actually, all the Technobots were pretty cool, except Lightspeed. A drill machine, two spaceships, a Tron cycle, and what, a Nissan Sentra? He just doesn’t fit.
listen, I'm sure this toy is great. i haven't watched the video yet. I just want everyone to know that I got the last car in the gobots puzzler combiner the other day and now my collection has a new crown jewel.
1:40 I will not shut it, as an outraged fan I demand you link me to these knockoffs so I may do my best to take them down and not to purchase any of them.
OMG, Gavin forgot the chestplate, he is the worst content creator ever, I'm so unsubbing... Is what someone who likes to complain would say, me though, I don't really care
