Treasures explores The New York Botanical Garden, which for over 120 years has served as a natural haven for New York City dwellers and out-of-town visitors alike.
Now that I am retired I am amazed at the little things I can enjoy...taking time quite literally to smell the roses, watch and learn of birds, of pollinators and the plants they need. God put us here to care for the garden, starting in Eden and culminating in New York.
My Dad worked at the Botanical Gardens for 26 years. 1952 to 1978. I remember going on Saturdays where a bunch of us kids grew veggies and flowers. It was a magical place.
I grew up running around in the woods here. NyBG is why I bought a house and have a garden. Learned how to do it in the original Gardencrafter program over 50 years ago.
It is very kind that the titans of industry, and the overlords of many generation at least left us something. I hope the titans of today, fb,google, amazon, will think of those to come since the stockholders cannot see any profit in helping man/woman kind in general this generation, maybe later. I hope A.I. can see this problem and fix it, since the greed of a few don't seem to be able to make it happen.
This is a very beautiful botanical garden. I am from Taiwan and we have a few and smaller botanical gardens which are great but not as marvelous as this one!
