😀 Commenting while I watch this video. Your passion and craftsmanship with these axes is awesome to watch. Fantastic to see someone take such pride in what they do! 👍🏻 That oak handle 🤙🏼
Hey Buckin'! What a treat it is to come home after a hard days work and watch someone with such enthusiasm and passion do what they love. You have helped alot of people with your undeniable positivity. Thank you.
Hey buckin! Just wanted to tell you you inspired me to restore my grandpa's old ax. Found a vintage sequatchie hickory handle and a Kelly works true temper 3lb jersey head in his barn and I put them together 15 years ago. Recently the head became loose and after watching you vids I took it out, scraped the laquer off burnt it, and oiled it and it's proud and tight!! 36.5" from the top of the head to the handle end. Always been my favorite felling axe. Gonna do another one soon!

Greetings from No. VT - Buckin, I never get tired of watching you fit axe handles. Every time I learn a new trick or perspective to explore. I have a couple of old axes I need to re-handle, so thank you for the insights. Welcome to the new subscribers - you now a part of the most positive group I know of on RU-vid.
Amen Brother, the bigger this channel gets the more this world will heal. I feel like all I hear is negativity from the world throughout my day with one exception......when i listen to You and your channel. Just sitting here listening to you spread your positivity and good message is like a breath of fresh air. Not to mention I learn new things along the way. Thank you brother for the inspiration and for the escape from the negativity. Keep it up my friend!
Great video Buckin! I love how you have your axes, saws & family deep deep in your soul!.. I hope & pray that the rain stops for all of you on the island!. 😉😊
Hi Buckin happy Wednesday. Good to see that axe back in service. Looking like all your snow is gone that’s a good sign no more blues. Have a great day everyone !!!
Cheer up Buckin!! The rain will eventually settle itself down! Trust me on that! Your axes as always look amazing, and once you get them done up, you can go enjoy your travels! That being said, if you are travelling through Northern Alberta, be sure to give me a call! Coffee's on me friend! Take care, and to everyone here, Hope you are doing well!!
Love it Buckin. Nice rehaft great work. We are getting your rain here now and man it's a sloppy mess at work. Welcome to the new comers. Come on kindness.. 🌲❤🌲✊
I just love your enthusiasm. I've never done it for a living but I grew up cutting and splitting hardwoods down here in NC with a single bit axe. Darn sure kept me in shape. We use a wood burnig boiler to supply heat to three different buildings including two homes and a garage so I still cut and split a lot just use a saw and splitter now but I value your opinion. Your tips especially on filing have helped a lot so thanks brother and keep BUCKIN

Hello and lots of love to the everyone out there. I hope you all are happy and well. Hey buckin,I found an old school keen kutter double in the trees the other day. Got er cleaned up and made a hickory handle for it. I tried something different with it. I did a full taper, head fat and handle thin with a palm ball at the end. Oh boy! It's cool, lots and lots of leverage. No hand fatigues. Anyway just wanted to mention that and say thanks for all your info on wedges, it really helps. Lifes good, spread the love and keep smiling. Love from the Ozarks.
Every time I watch one of your videos makes my day better. You can change the world one person at a time. Show kindness to everyone you pass and it will change their day. Thanks for another shot in the arm to keep trying.

Hey buckin' sat over here in the UK on a cold day watching you make these axes makes me want to go buy some vintage heads and have at it! From a fellow tree guy over in England, enjoying all the videos 👍🏻
Looking forward to the chain tension video! I have a logger felling trees on my 5 acres and leaving tops for me. (Oaks and hickory) So I'm limbing and bucking some of the hardest wood out there. If you're near the western edge of KY in your travels come on by!
Have plenty of oak to cut buck and split...feel free to call stop in and teach. We are here willing to learn and share our home as you pass thru the nation. We are in southern Missouri in the Ozarks. Cheers and have a groovy day and stay warm
My favorite axe is a almost 50 year old 4# True Temper single bit. It has a 31.5 inch hickory doe leg handle on it and it will cut, which is why I have kept it go so long. I have a 36 inch straight handled 5# True Temper double bit but it has always felt clubby in my hands. It will cut but I have always liked single bit axes. My TT boys axe is about the same as your HB double bit - 2 1/4 pounds and it has a 27 1/2 inch doe leg on it. It is a good wedge banger. The axes I like and use have custom made leather sheaths on them. The wall hangers do not. My favorites are my 4# TT, my CS Trail axe and my Husky Carpenters axe.
And it's raining, all over the world it's raining, all over the world Tonight, the longest night She came to me like a friend She blew in on the Southern wind Now my heart is turned to stone again There's gonna be a showdown Absolutely awesome video.🙃🤪
Hey buckin' do any work with Brush hooks? I use some council tool FSS brush hooks for clearing out small balsams and limbing up trees for our sawyers when I'm doing trail work and the heavy weight and wide blades make really short work of such soft woods I can usually hack down little 6"-8" balsams in just 3 swings
Oh...., Yeah, B.C. Perry 15! When I were a lad, workin' for Bonner Tree Enterprises, they made me the "branch manager" in the back o' the truck, whit me brush hook. My brudder an' cousin's dragged the butt-fois' branches to me, I flang 'em up an' in..., an' BUSH-WHACKED 'em! Lovely, packed neat, 10' by 8' by sometimes 10 foot high 'cubes' of brush when dumped out. They used these blocks to corral in the bucked up firewood stacks, so the buzzards didn't sneak a truck in too close at nite. After I touched 'at rascal up whitta rat-tail file, could lop through 3 inches o' maple branch, one swang! (It were a while ago, mebbe I'm 'zaggeratin' agin...😏) Rick Bonner, Pennsyltucky rcabonner1@live.com
Buckin behind every great man there is an even greater woman .winter time is slow for work it sucks but it gives us time to work on saws half axes and love.stay tuned
Great vid Buckin ! .. ive been wondering about leans and undercuts .. can u make a difference on the horizontal undercut against its lean ..i mean without a dutchy make it lean over more .. ive been thought it should always be 90° on the stump.. i only do fire wood so i dont need perfect butts.. but could it be saver with some tricks ?..

Know how you feel with all that rain pouring down. Had it here in Denmark from basically from September till Christmas - so depressing. In the area of Denmark where i live we set an all time high record in rain in a year - more than 1200 mm of rain that is close to 50 inches of rain. Been better here in January - thank god.
