Well, this is what we were up to, trying to secure a sweet camping structure. Sorry for the low quality and random uploads on this channel, but I love you all! Sorry about crazy neighbor eating a taco!
Just saw some 91 year old water skiing for his birthday, if your pockets can swing it just pay the local handyman to build it for you and check it off your to do list.
Morning, Steve... Your a blessed man. You enjoy good health, have a beautiful wife & a good friend there in your very own kingdom. Thanks for sharing the good times w/ the rest of us... "H. D. & A. B. C."
That looks great n looks like fun. Yeah it takes time and it's "work" but the feeling of having created a shelter I'd imagine is worth it. I'm in no way in the city but not in the country either, one day though, one day ✌️
My neighborhood has a nice wooded ravine running through it, neighbors across it have a treehouse built for their kids. I'm just happy to have found a good spot partsway down that's on my property to set up my hammock. It's like a little camping oasis in the city.
How much rent will you charge to stay there? I need to know since the wife wants to throw me out for only watching camping with Steve all day while i drink step twos.
The Hunker Bunker is looking good. I was wondering how long it would be before you guys broke out the power tools. haha The plexiglass was a great idea.
You can buy hardware for treehouses such as floating brackets that allow for tree movement. As trees grow, they can do nasty things to lumber that is attached directly to the tree, not to mention that not all trees grow at the same rate either.
stove and table in bottom would be awesome plus would heat the upper room , if you put a floor vent in of course, and store your whipper snipper there too on the wall .
I missed if this is on your land or public land Love treehouses and have helped in the building of one and want one myself So awesome Congrats and enjoy!
ah yes, the good 'ol stihl mitre saw...not so accurate, but hella convenient! that's gonna be a perfect spot for your weed-whackers to hunker-down over the canadian winter.
Those seemed more like lag screws than lag bolts, to me. Surprised you didn't put one of those clear plastic sections "upstairs." Hope you get to keep both levels for camping/etc. Your motivation/means/ability beat mine! I did chuckle when I saw that you had created "some" walls on two levels instead of all the walls on either one or the other. Must be some kind of Canadian construction technique we're not familiar with in the USA - maybe to provide motivation if/when you're "inside" when that cold Winter wind howls, lol? If the upper (or lower) level was fully enclosed and you were in it, you might not feel like going back out to finish the structure.
Wow You guys already got snow huh. We’ve been lucky here in Toronto. Yesterday was Plus 18. Nobody knows what the hell is going on. I never seen it this warm in November.
The price of lumber and sheathing out this way (eastern Canada) hase gone way up, double in price at least all of a sudden, they say due to the pandemic. HAS THE PRICE OF SUCH MATERIALS IN YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS ALSO GONE UP A LOT IN THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS OR SO? (TIP: Cover that structure in vinyl siding and it will look as modern and as fancy as any.)
