Genin that is how I use to get my firewood. I liked driving around the country in the springtime looking for dead trees along the fields. Then I would stop and talk to the farmer about cutting them down in the fall after harvest. I would take my splitter with me and spend the day in the great outdoors away from people. Loved it! Miss it too!

Took down a 40" and 20" red oak over a pvc fence and hanging limbs over a house. 90ft tall oak,had 8 large 2ft diam branches spreading way up 40ft long. The tree was massive.Took 10 hrs to cut and lower everything down piece by piece using a lift. 3 big logs we're gonna sawmill bc they were solid. Top of the tree was hollow with honey bee combs inside. Have a logging job to do with hundreds of dead ash and blow downs. 3ft diam telephone pole ash snd several 40+" spalted red maple logs to get out the woods with our forwarder and tractor logging winch.another logging job we have to do yet is big tall white pines for sawlogs that are all 28+" in diameter. Keep on cutting.
@@765Guys just took down 2 Giant dead cottonwood yesterday , 4ft and 40" diam. Stumps. Pain in the butt to get pushed into the dump trailer with the skidsteer but it's all cleaned up and hauled away already. 2 biggest logs I saved 8ft to make slabs. Tons of logs and firewood in our woodyard. Alot more logging jobs and tree removals to do yet
