At 32:10 the 2 bow control linkage is put on backwards. The "short end" closest to the bend should go toward the rear of the vehicle. It must rest on top of the bumper when on correctly. He has it backwards resting on the metal bracket.
@BestopTeam : If you have the factory soft top, does this kit come with all the hardware you need? The video refers to reusing the factory hard top hardware.
Follow up comment that qualify control with bestop products is a very real issue, at 38:20 the demonstrator is pushing the barrel screw through the small hole. The hole he has is way bigger than what you actually receive and have to push the flat head part of the screw through the inside and the barrel screw through the outside with the cable. Basically the reverse way that the demonstrator does it.
I really wish you guys had made a version that can fold all the way back to the gate. Whether yours or the factory one, they look terrible folded back but still on top of the roof. Just my opinion.
I bought a '23 bronco outer banks came with the hard top. I also ordered the soft top. It's summer now so want to swap them out. When winter comes and I want to swap back this has to be completely disassembled?
It DOES NOT!!! just remove your trektop and swap out your C pillar plates, reinstall your original c pillar plates and you can put the hard top back on
Never would have been able to just follow the printed directions. It would be great if you could split the video into chapters. I found that I didn't need the video for every step. Thanks,
@@marbledmeatshop I can’t remember. I did it this weekend and watched the video and used the instructions step by step. They were just not in sync on a few steps. Also do yourself a favor and get some marine/automotive weatherstripping from Lowes for $9 and put it on the top of the door rails starting in front and going all the way back past the screw that holds the cloth tightening cord. It made a huge improvement on side wind noise and it creates a barrier that will keep snow or rain from potentially blowing up and under the cloth and into the cabin. The stock top has a rubber seal on the cloth that sits in a channel on the door. The Bestop doesn’t have a channel on the rail or a seal on the cloth.
@@justinwilliams2144 I looked back at the manual - which suggests nearly removing the speaker. I did not do that at all. The video installation worked for me. Cheers.
@@kellyvanvakaris2059 I don’t remember. I watched the video and then followed the paper instructions as I watched the video again. That’s how I know there were a few steps that were out of order. Also the video has a few still images of steps that aren’t show how to do.
It gets better with time and stretching but far from perfect. I’m foregoing that top this year. Pain in the ass. Would rather have sun screen and drive a different car on bad days then fool with this pos.
