Trev Lukather is a songwriter, guitarist, and producer, along with so many other things. You could say that he was born to be a musician.
Trev is the son of legendary Toto guitarist Steve Lukather and artist/singer Marie Currie, which makes his aunt Cherie Currie, the legendary voice of The Runaways. To further expand upon his phenomenal family tree, his father-in-law is Jonathan Cain of Journey, one of the great songwriters in rock history.
Trev began his professional career when he became the guitarist and musical director for Lindsay Lohan at the tender age of 17. He has worked with a wealth of tremendous talent, receiving respect and accolades along the way, including a gold record for a song he co-wrote for hard rockers Halestorm. Trev has a new band project he has called THE EFFECT, a band which also includes Phil Collins’ son Nic Collins on drums.
In this interview, Trev tells us all about meeting the members of The Effect and how the band came to be. He talks about what's to come as far as a full-length record, he talks about growing up surrounded by legends of the music industry his entire life, and so much more.
It's impossible not to admire this young man for his talent, his professionalism, and his undeniable humility. While watching and listening, it's instantly obvious that Trev is a level-headed artist with an infectious work ethic and drive, and simply one cool dude to hang with.
