I had the pleasure of seeing both my childhood hero's Trevor and Kenny Burns play for the blues back in the 70's as a teenager. Losing Trevor today has depressed me beyond words. Thank you Trevor for the many happy memories of my youth seeing you play at St Andrews. Rest in peace Trevor, a wonderful player and a wonderful gentleman.

Leeds fan here. I remember his first season as , I think, a 16 year old, when he scored lots of goals Such very sad news.

One of the most important players in modern English football history. I never followed his progress but remember his impact as a 17 year old (Hatton and Francis was a great double act) making me believe I could make it as a young footballer. I also remember his contributions to the Tiger and Scorcher comic where he shared his knowledge and experience with us young kids (his friendly rivalry with the other star contributor, Malcolm MacDonald was great to read). Trevor always struck me as well grounded, not afraid to be controversial and a player who was indispensible to the clubs (and country) he played for. To Forest fans (I support Charlton) he will always be remembered with affection and probably scored the most important goal in their history. God bless you and your family and friends. You will never be forgotten in the football fraternity. He will always be linked to BCFC and I send my wholehearted condolences to the club and fans for the loss of someone so special to you all.

Best player for Birmingham of all time in my opinion. Watched pretty much every home game he ever played its sad so many of his amazing goals were never captured on camera because he scored some pretty amazing ones. Latchford , Hatton, Francis, Taylor and later Burns probably the best forward line I ever saw at St Andrews.

I remember him bursting onto the scene for England and his pace was electric. Having lived around Brum for 30 years I know how much he meant to Blues fans. I saw him out and about and he was a proper gentleman, not engrained with hatred for other clubs like many fans and ex-players we see today. They had to get that clip in of him emotional with AJ after he missed the penalty against Liverpool in the Worthington Cup final always gets me that. We never quite moved forward after that match and should of had a blatant penalty in extra time. Absolute legend TF no matter where he was raised or where he played after he left for Forest he had royal blue blood in his veins and will always be the most iconic, stylish and class player ever to have graced the St Andrews pitch. Always sad to hear of the passing of a legendary player, but I also always feel so lucky to have seen them play. Saw Trevor Francis play as a fan of a rival club on several occasions, the first time in 1974, when my Dad took me to a game at St Andrews. Francis had a reputation as a major talent & became a household name long before he became the first million pound player.
