@@panbat2367 That's no excuse. Using being on the spectrum as an excuse for shit like this, rather than merely an explanation and then trying to move past it - is a major problem lately, I've noticed.
Thank god these guys are just acting and not actually getting upset with each other, because if they actually get angry in reality, they would be bad friends and would be enemies.
It seems like Jon and Emile are using different definitions of independent. Jon is using the definition of not being controlled by an outside force. He makes his own content and makes a good living playing games the way that he sees fit to. Emile is using the definition of being connected to anyone else. Since Emile knows Jon would never be able to take himself out of his relationship with Lucah he sees that as being dependent. Both of these are valid definitions of independent (All I had to do was type independent definition and Google and got it) so it's not having a bad grasp on the English language, just using different meanings.
If Emile thinks that Jon isn't independent, I don't even want to imagine what he thinks of Stephen, I mean, the guy has to order freaking TOAST because he can't make them
I think I know where Emile was going, though. Jon is a fairly lazy person and Reese (Lucahjin), I think, really does get him to do a lot that he probably wouldn't do otherwise.
TRG has survived several Mario Parties, Dokapon Kingdom, Slippery Shoes, the endless amount of puns, 2 somewhat Blind LP's for Chugga, and now independence.
4:39 Emile: I was actually telling you earlier like just how awesome your whole setup that you've put together is... Jon: *YEAH, I DID THAT BY MYSELF, MOTHERFUCKER!* Tim: OH! *Laughs*
If that one moment where Jon absolutely raged at Emile when he accidentally chose to fight him instead of Rico Jr because he was holding down the button when he didn't need to didn't erase their friendship, absolutely nothing will.
We advance from the talk of Women biology to not knowing the definition of Independence. I think Chugga needs to read a dictionary that average citizens should know on a day-to-day basis.
I mean, if he IS on the spectrum, that would be a legitimate excuse. Based on comments he made, he seems to believe the “misdiagnosed” thing to be a mistake...
"I think Reese is a very good fit for you because she is a good fit for you." ..........Emile, this is called finding a decent human being that you have a shared connection with. This is not called being DEPENDENT XD
I always feel bad because obviously Chugga isn’t trying to insult Jon. But it wouldn’t be Chugga if he didn’t understand what certain words meant. I mean, that whole “are we platonic friends?” thing with Masae is even further proof of that.
Emile, the guy who had to be told what queefs are in his late 20s, doesn't think Jon, the guy about to get married, is independent. Irony died on that day.
I think because Jon grew up in a strictly religious home, he most likely had to struggle for independence, which explains why he's so touchy about Chugga questioning his independence.
Dapper Changeling Following a book's advice isn't really related to being independent. Following people's advice is necessary for independence really since you aren't just born with good morals.
CANADIANATOR+Ninja shoes+this. Not even pure NaCl can out salt Jon. Chugga, Tim, and our Lord and CANADIANATOR Jon must be best friends, and a bunch of jokers.
It was still a dick move to quickly tell Jon the controls, not give him any time to process it, and promptly smack him off a cliff before he could even realize what to do. Even Emile later admitted that he was a dick there.
Lucky Sock I dunno. Lost Innocence shows us Emile’s insane ignorance, Jon’s more goofy side, and the fact that Tim loves going along for the ride to see what happens. There’s more balance and character development, as well as lore, to be had there. This is a solid moment though!
I kind of understand Emile's definition of the word independence and think it does apply better to this question than Jon's definition which sounds like, "are you a functioning adult or are you a kid?" In the terms of how independence is used in this question I feel like it can factor into many aspects, such as emotional dependence, which I do believe that Jon has some. Also, I'd like to see Jon survive without Reese cooking for him.
This is how I imagine the Runaway Guys at this point: Emile is the enforcer, Jon is the target of Emile's enforcing and Tim just sits back with the popcorn and watches the fight.
Note his comment, “This is what happens when you’re on the spectrum.” That would explain a lot and implies the “misdiagnosed” thing could have been mistaken. He still has a better grip on reality than Doug Walker...
It was the opposite actually, he mentioned that he was on the spectrum in that video, and he took it down because, at the time, he thought he was misdiagnosed. I still have a hard time believing it, though, as someone who has been dually diagnosed with ADHD and Aspergers, I honestly think it is more likely that he has a different condition as well as ADHD, but I don't know him personally so I can't really say, nor do I actually have the right to diagnose him.
@@winters_revolt Chugga said a key word here, "spectrum". Not every person with aspergers will have the same problems as others that have a hard time with growing up with it. Because of this I feel it is possible that Chugga has Aspergers, just on a mild scale.
@@ethanbousfield9972 Well, you are right about that. But the problem here is that he was diagnosed with autism, not aspergers. While now they are considered the same thing, and aspergers was even removed as a potential diagnosis, it is now called high-functioning autism. Till about 2013, autism and aspergers were considered, let's just say separate but equal, they were clearly the same thing but on a different scale. I honestly do still have my doubts on him being autistic, I think it's more likely that he has dyspraxia. If you want to know more, you can read this link on the differences as I don't want to make this an essay. integratedtreatmentservices.co.uk/news/autism-dyspraxia-differences/
I think I got what Emile thought independence is. Folks know the saying/quote/something “I’m a strong independent woman who doesn’t need no man”? I think he thought independence as in celibacy. And since Jon has Reese well...
Going on a hunch here and saying Emile had independence and initiative mixed up. The way he described what he thought it meant sounded a lot like he thinks that Jon has to be told to do things otherwise it wouldn’t happen. Like he doesn’t take initiative. I could be dead wrong, but that’s my thoughts
I thought the question was stating how independent are you as in how much time do you spent alone or with others I can understand Tim’s reasoning Jon streams alone at home while every other month he’s with Emile and Tim at conventions and recording twice a year
Is _anyone_ really "truly" independent? Humans are social animals. We _all_ depend on the people around us. Our family and friends; the economy and state; humanity as a whole. The saying is "no man is an island." This is why I can sympathize with Emile on this question. His definition of "independent" is probably "Can you survive in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no one around who you can contact?" It's an extreme definition, yes, but is it _wrong?_ But even in that situation, you're still dependent on Mother Nature playing nice and offering natural resources, good weather, and a lack of predators. Every living thing has complex webs of dependency, and there isn't a single one that lacks any connections to something else.
He said "You should have watched Terraria Hardcore." Tim was talking to Emile, and he was referring to PeanutButterGamer's Hardcore series. Jon was in two seasons, both of them Terraria. Both times he demonstrated his independence by wandering off by himself. Both times got him killed.
A lot of people think this is the best moment in Wii Party U, but IN MY OPINION, this was the worst moment for me. It got too personal for me to find it funny. I felt bad for Chugga. I genuinely felt like he was getting harassed. I know Chugga took it lightly, but it still made me have empathy for him... That's just me, though.
I mean, personally, I know this was mostly a misunderstanding so I think it's funny. But I do get this feeling in Mario 3D World when Masae and Jon gang up on Emile with their "sass" (sometimes fairly justified, mind you) Also in Overcooked when they couldn't get 3 stars and progress was affected. And the whole Tim vs Jigglypuff fiasco, but that was way too long ago lol
