A "day in the life" of heading out for a good TRIAKing session with some friends. A little paddling, step the mast, and head out for a nice sail. www.triaksports.com
I look forward to it. There is no contesting the success of this design. Ive had two seperate boat designer and sail/kayak company owners give heaps of praise on the Triak when it was not in their interest business wise to do it. I think its like some one trying to diss a Ferrari - who would do that? I look forward to this V12 performer showing its stuff.
Thanks Petewp61. Agree, we need way better video showing the sped and action. Our Baja Team is working on a full-on edit from their Baja trip which should have some great shots, but we'll try and get some too. Thanks for the comments.
Yeah i gotta agree with the other dude saying the clips look a bit lack lustre as in slooow. When you pulled the sail on i thought here we go ,i was waiting for it to come alive, but no it was pedestrian. I thought it will get better, they're just showing that they are easy to sail etc. Get out there in a good blow. It's probably the nicest tri yak i've seen though
Yes it would be nice to compare “under sail” performance, but it is hard to bear having the mirage drive pedal system and having two “iako” with the extra storage/carry capacity is also significant.
those big solid aka's look like they will catch waves? i cant imagine how a big flat solid surface isnt going to get lifted when the ama pierces a wave at speed. - in some decent wind this will go like stink, so lets see it operate in some serious 12+ knts of wind please.
I consistently disagree with every Triak promo vid. Not anything to do with the craft, its a amazing but the videos always have this lazy slow motion effect like every ride was 3 knots. To underscore it the paddling part looked faster than the sailing. Knock off the slow motion effects, get in some good wind, surf waves, bust waves - put some heartbeat into that thing. Your vids are aggravating.
I just got one of these and its amazing how versatile and stable it is in all weather conditions, the first day I took it out was also the first day of Sandy and it was such a rush and ease to use, really wish I had a cam with me. If just Kayaking its smoother and faster than my regular kayaks too. The paddle doesnt come close to hitting the outrigger.
