"If you have 2 or more "Light and Darkness Dragon" face-up on your side of the field when a Spell, Trap, or effect of a Effect Monster is activated, the effect of each "Light and Darkness Dragon" form a Chain, but only the effect of the "Light and Darkness Dragon" chained directly to the activated Spell, Trap, or effect of an Effect Monster will resolve. The other "Light and Darkness Dragon" on the Chain will not negate the activation of the Spell, Trap, or effect of the Effect Monster and they will not lose any ATK or DEF from their effect. Example: Player A and Player B each have "Light and Darkness: Dragon face-up on the field. Player A activates "Smashing Ground in his Main Phase 1. The effect of both copies o "Light and Darkness Dragon" activate. Player A is the turn player, so theirs is placed first onto the Chain (Light and Darkness Dragon A), followed by their opponent's (Light and Darkness Dragon B). Since Player A's "Light and Darkness: Dragon is chained directly to "Smashing Ground, it will negate the "Smashing Ground" and lose 500 ATK and DEF Player B's "Light and Darkness Dragon" will not negate "Smashing Ground" and will not lose ATK or DEF." Here is the best source for edison accurate ladd rulings: web.archive.org/web/20110105220958/http:/www.yu-judges.com/cat204_p24.htm#9 (on db they show only the raw text of the errata of the time, and not the psct version) ;)
LADD is once per chain per LADD, so they can't loop. Got it mixed up. It's the first LADD you activate that will resolve. Since it needs to chain directly to the card. Weird stuff.
The latest text, for context: Cannot be Special Summoned. While face-up on the field, this card is also DARK-Attribute. Once per Chain, during either player's turn, when a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated: This card loses exactly 500 ATK and DEF and that activation is negated. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 monster in your Graveyard (if possible); destroy all cards you control, also Special Summon that monster (if any).
For ADDITIONAL context, LADD isn't as popular because Book of Moon beats it. Since it's once per chain, if you activate anything and chain Book of Moon in response to LADD, whatever you activate completely goes through since LADD can no longer lower its ATK/DEF. And like you mentioned before, Treeborn beats it as does Vayu in grave since they aren't once per turn effects that you can always activate. But Quickdraw ALSO beats LADD because in Edison, Quickdraw activates in hand and discarding is not a cost.
ladd is once per chain, so when the opponent activate prison, ladd mandatory to negate, then phoenix wing wind blast as cl3 to place in the top of the deck. since ladd is once per chain he cant negate pwwb
LaDD is pretty much Apollousa but mandatory, and also for Spell/Trap _card_ _activations_ It doesn't negate activated Spell/Trap effects like an already face-up Royal Oppression or Mausoleum
If you control 2 copies of "Light and Darkness Dragon" and a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated, you can choose in which order to place their effects in a Chain. When the effects resolve, the effect of the "Light and Darkness Dragon" activated as Chain Link 3 won't be applied since it was not activated directly in a Chain to the effect activated as Chain Link 1, and it won't lose ATK or DEF. Also, the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon" can only be activated once per Chain.[14]
8:20 you can just Substitoad tribute itself to summon a second Dupe Frog from the Deck. Don't know why he didn't do that, felt like a misplay. He would have been in the duel a lot longer.
@@andleepfarooqui7874 going down to 1 dupe frog during siding is definitely incorrect, there should always be 2 dupe frog so that you can dupe lock. Dupe lock forces the opponent to waste cards to out it
@@Azkadaz yeah but I can’t figure out what else explains it and i think cutting the frog engine feels like the most plausible explanation. He didn’t go through uni or flop either while uni was def in game 3 so i was thinking it might be some sort of weird side cutting msot of the frog cards
Seriously, we don’t care about edison matches it’s such a small niche that enjoys it! Sometimes a match is fun and all but we follow you for the competitive matches on the current format
LMFAO it is not small and niche. It has a large and dedicated fanbase. Konami even has it as a side event at regionals and YCS. They even make custom mats for the winners of said events.
Or let him appeal to his viewers that play a supported format? You could just choose to not watch the videos, it's not like he hasn't been putting out TCG content.
