I am from the USA and upon hearing that she has passed on I cried uncontrollably. She had a wonderful soul. My heart was not ready for this and it's only recourse was to make me cry and cry some more. What a wonderful tribute you put together for her. How you kept your emotions in check I'll never know. In time will we forget her? Never.

I was so devastated by the news she had passed away at such a young age and so soon after her wedding as well ....the strength and power she had and her engaging stage presence was addicting to watch ....an amazing voice gone forever 😢

i believe patricia knew she was dying when she got married & wanted to feel the happiness of marriage before she died!! hopefully, there will be plans to market patricia's music! world wide, albeit posthumously, because it is what she deserves & what music lovers need to discover!! her name must not be allowed to fade away & should be ranked alongside the greatest opera singers of all time!! i should point out that i am as rock music fan, as was patricia, who liked the beatles, the doors & american west coast music, ie, the eagles! i believed that patricia would have become a very talented actress as well as a magnificent singer! she could speak 5 languages, including, english & german, which would have been important if she was to star in films & perform in london & new york!!

By the way, I’d love there to be a worldwide documentary (polyglot, with subtitles) featuring her widower Vlastimil Burda and others. It can come out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024 or 2025 with the provider in each market selecting a fund to advertise with it. Breast cancer can hit at any age and, ironically, the younger ones are more likely to fall. Could Patricia have been saved? Probably not; she is just one of the unlucky fallen ones whose breasts were too dense to show the mutation before the tumor reached a later stage. But there is hope that other individuals will have the chance. I know some personally who are close to actually surviving the ordeal myself.

i'm sure that if patricia's husband &/or her management agreed to her being featured in a film, documentary or book, they would be happy to have any of them to be in honour of breast cancer awareness!! it would not bring patricia back but ensure her name would be remembered & equally for her singing!!!@@StuartSimon

Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for this remarkable talent and your sadness at her tragic fate, all the more devastating because at one stage she seemed to be on the verge of a recovery. Many of us will never really get over it. She had achieved so much in her short life, gifting us with a superb legacy. Although her magical voice will live on as she passes into legend, I had rather she had never sung again if it meant regaining her health. RIP precious Patka. We will never forget you.

She has resided in the Czech Republic for many years. She certainly seems to have had great affinity for this country, where she cultivated her talent. ... Thanks so much for doing this tribute to Patricia Janeckova. I confess that I stumbled across her videos accidentally while following Amira Willighagen, and Patricia quickly became my favourite opera singer. Such a beautiful voice and, as you described so well in the video Mein Herr Marquis, she also was a great actor....so necessary for a true opera singer. She had the capability to move me to tears whenever I listened to her during her life, and now I am incredibly saddened when I listen to her and think about what should have been. I had earlier, before I heard of her passing, hoped that you would react to her videos, and now I can only say thank you very much. A tribute such as this from one with your knowledge is very meaningful to me.

I am not a big opera buff but her videos caught my attention some years ago and she floored me. I was shocked to hear she died. To see such a talented, beautiful person die so young is beyond sad. May she rest in peace and my sympathy to her husband and family. What a loss. Our lives are like a flickering candle. Hers was extinguished too soon.

So many people have said and experienced the same thing; and have wept over the death a young woman that they never even met. You and I are just two of them. There are many many great singers and thousands of beautiful women, but Patricia clearly had some additional and almost magical qualities that people quickly fell in love with, including those who worked with and played music alongside her.

C'est avec tristesse que j'appris sur le décès de Patrícia. Je me souviens encore de son visage triste mais avec beaucoup d'espoir lorsqu'elle a annoncé sa maladie en mars 2022. C'est une belle voix qui s'éteint.

One evening sometimes in 2017, taking a break from working on my computer, I thought I hadn't been listening to opera for quite a while, so I asked RU-vid for Anna Netrebko videos. the videos kept rolling until it got to a young lady with a fun dress and feathers singing Adele's laughing song. Who is this ? I asked myself. Patricia Janeckova would illuminate my life until the sad news of October 1. And I keep thinking about the words from Haendel that she was singing so brightly: Lascia ch'io pianga mia cruda sorte... It is so unjust. The world has lost one of its true treasures. RIP Patricia, we love you.

When I heard she was ill of a breast cancer, I thought it was a bad news but at sametime, I said myself that it was a kind of pathology more easy to care, statistically . I am so sad now to have underestimated her situation. I am not able to find a reason why - a so skilled, elegant, beautiful singer - had this cruel life destiny . Tears.

Thank you for expressing what so many of us are feeling. With so much talent, why do you think Patricia never made it to the big stages of the musical world? Was she too young, or wasn't her management pushing her enough?

Too young and needed more stage experience. As I understand, she either was still studying or had just finished University of Ostrawa majoring in voice when she got sick. I've read she performed a few roles on opera stages in Czech Republic and in Slovakia, earlier. A couple of leading roles. She also tried musicals, sang Juliet in a musical version of Romeo and Juliet, but preferred opera. Opera career is difficult and takes time. Before one gets "noticed" by a world's top theater, one needs to make a name for oneself performing leading roles in smaller theaters or/and win the world's most prestigious competitions where the judges may include both singers and theaters' artistic directors. One needs to master repertory, not just arias, but full roles. Then, wait/hope for a lucky break. Top theaters cast 5 years in advance. There aren't that many top theaters in the world, and top singers travel from one to another. It's a very competitive and demanding world. Also, sometimes teachers and singers themselves want to wait till their voices mature more so that not to ruin them by doing too much too soon. She was only 25 when she died and she was 23 when she got sick. It's very young for opera. She needed more time.

I am also devasted that patricia is No more. In my opinion the greatest talent in Europe since Maria Callas, and religious too, makes you wonder, if God wanted her for himself? Patricia was never really of this world. I'm older than she was by 12 years, and so far she's the only soul who walked this planet in my time that caused me to experience the five stages of grief each at least once. I reached acceptance only this morning. Patricia may be gone from this world, but her legacy lives on.

I too am devastated by Patricia losing her life. The world lost an outstanding artist,but she lost everything,her entire world! Just the saddest thing. The world has her recordings ,audio and visual, and we will remember her forever!

the 2016 'new year concert' at which she sang, 'mein herr marquis', had her brilliantly singing 4 other songs, including, 'meine lippen' & 'the doll song'! this concert should be released on cd & dvd!! patricia's name must not be forgotten & maybe a biography, stage musical & film about her life story should be written! maybe even 'AI' MIGHT BE AN IDEA! IT WORKED FOR ABBA & THE BEATLES!! great tribute for patricia from the voice coach!! there will be many broken & heavy hearted followers who will find it hard to accept her life is over & that she will not be singing anymore! all the hopes of maybe seeing her perform live have now been dashed! i always felt she would have been ideal as the princess in a remake of the audrey hepburn classic film, 'roman holiday'!! although it won't be the same, we still have the consolation of seeing pj performing on you tube, with which most people would have first known about her exceptional talent, when she sang, 'once upon a time in the west' whilst winning 'talentmania' in 2010 at the age of 12!!

Devastating loss.. A beautiful artist..She suffered so much. When I consider myself at 62..having achieved little and Patricia taken at such a young age with an incredible future ahead. How can there be a god? It's not fair. 💔

It isn’t fair and I’m sure there isn’t any God / or at least nothing resembling the gods of our major religions. So many of Patricia’s fans want to believe that their loving god called her back to sing with his other angels. Really? So why did he first put her through the torment of a year of chemo, mastectomy and radiotherapy, before teasing her with vain hopes of recovery, only for hope to be dashed to pieces just weeks after her wedding with the news that the cancer has spread to her liver and was now incurable. No, it doesn’t make sense to believe in this god

Saying I am devastated is an understatement. What a talent Patricia was! What a voice! A rare jam that had a place on the operatic Olympus with her name on it. She was just getting started. A lot of her performances on the internet are in churches. The sound isn’t as clear. Here voice had a beautiful warmth with pinpoint accuracy.
