Tricia's Creations Dr Pepper Cherry Chocolate Fudge Cake

3 INGREDIENTS!
chocolate fudge cake mix
20 oz room temp. dr pepper **A VIEWER SUGGESTED ONLY 12 OZ!!!
chopped marachino cherries
get the kids to help you with this super easy instructions......
mix it all up in a bowland pour into pan. bake at 350 degrees farenheit for approx 40 mins. use a toothpick to check, the cake will be soft and fudgy. baking in a sheet pan would be best even though i used a bundt pan.
I used store made frosting, just 1/2 can, and about 2 tbs of the cherry juice so it will drizzle over cake. If doing a regular cake use all frosting for a thicker spreadable frosting. top with fine chopped pecans or walnuts or not..lol, then decorate with whole or halved marachino cherries.

Tricia, I made this yesterday for desert and it was a hit! It was so moist and my husband loved it. Got up this morning and was going to have a piece with my coffee and it was all gone. Thanks for the recipe (. I did use just the 12oz of Dr. Pepper. )

thank you Pauline, my garden is slowly looking better. I am finding new spot for my cacti and succulents as i had a spot cleaned out. my dad's gardens is looking even more amazing each time i visit.

TriciaTxLady Flores Thank you, but this recipe will be hers as we go into summer and almost every weekend is a family meal at the lake with a minimum of 11 people so we each make a different dessert. Sometimes she gets a little too competitive about it and I have to pull out the big guns to keep her humble so would 💖💖💖 to see more desserts especially lighter hot summer ones. Thank you so much

I've been making that cake for yrs but only use 12 oz of Dr Pepper (old weight wstchers recipe from 20 yrs ago). Never put cherries in it but that sounds good & never made a cherry icing, just a small amt of homemade. Will have to try this for next get together. Thanks Have a nice Memorial Day. Mary

this can be made without the cherries. maybe add some walnuts in batter instead. we'd eat this up in one sitting too..thankfully i gave most of it away..lol

lol and oops, i actually gave half of this cake to the gentleman working on our bathroom remodel. he watched me make as he walked by then when finally made so he was excited to get this. the other half i shared with my brother and sister in law. we can't have too much sweets around or we will eat it all! we can always find someone to share with.. haha thank you for your comment.

Reserve a heaping tablespoon full of cake mix to toss with the cherries and the cherries will not fall to the bottom.....I always do this with nuts, raisins & dry fruit of any kind that you may be adding to your cake...it works !

thank you for that awesome tip!! the batter comes out runny and i think that also contributed to the cherries all falling down. i also noticed when pouring (in my editing) that all the cherries ended up all clumped up to one side.
