Trilab's industrial 3D printers one year later - moving, expansion and Prusa e-shop

A year ago, we acquired an 80% share in Trilab, a Czech manufacturer of 3D printers based in Hradec Králové, as a strategic partner. Trilab's 3D printers based on delta construction are highly regarded industrial solutions, and it only made sense for us to keep the AzteQ and DeltiQ series running. What's more, you can now find both models directly in our e-shop!

Confirmed Prusa Tri Mk1 for 2023? 😉

So my thoughts as I had one DeltiQ 2 in my previous job. ITS JUST A REGULAR FFF PRINTER FOR 5K Euro. Nothing special. Constant trouble, Constant tweeking required. We had prusa MK3 and I almost always rather used that one than the DeltiQ at lease from the begining. After a while it got better with software updates, Credit where its due. I was so frustrated at one time that I decided to build a delta printer with the same or better capabilities for 8th of the price. That being said I did not succeded as I tried to use ballscrews on all axies and a small recomendation if you intend on doing so yourself, its possible but you have to use servos and/or high pitch at least 10-12mm/rotation. But still. Even with all the RnD and spare parts now waiting to be built into a CNC mill I've still managed to get under 1/4th of the price. (1/8th if you don't count the RnD). So yeah Nothing new, nothing special. Go buy Prušas CoreXY. You can at least see the development there. But after all I hate Trilab after I had to works with one of their printers for 2 years so take it with a grain of salt. ;)

As someone who had an oportunity to use Deltiq2 for over a year next to standard chinese made bed slinger and also ultimaker I have to say the top quality components are not everything when there are some major desing and sw flaws( might be changed by now with updates). I had all kinds of issues with it….. the UI interface with locked advanced controls is really annoying( I even had to hack the sd card out of the board to change some setings directly in config files. One of the major issues I have látely is the skipping of the motors ruining the print. I had the extruder appart many times because of the filament leaking. Find out the heablock thread was bad and i had to rethread it. Filament sensor has no real fixed possition and its just microswitch in piece of printed bracket…… The printer does looks nice on the pictures but the printing itself can be done the same or better and with less effort on standart prusa mk3s or simmilar clone. Definitely not worth the money.

@jirimaca5456
@jirimaca5456 Год назад
@@giedrius2149 there are pretty much no special features appart from cellphone used for controls via app. It is built from good quality hardware but it is hard to justify the price. They kind of trying to co pete with ultimaker but are far from their reliability. Also delta kinematic is sort of dead these days when most uses coreXY. I had the same issues with trilab as I did with cheap chinese printer. The difference is the marlin firmware allows me to troubleshoot and tune up. Trilab do not allow you to tinker with the config. Im really thinking about flashing their firmware with clean duet and getting klipper running on it as there is already rpi3b build in. Overall for hobby use its cheaper to build a voron, ratrig or maybe get new prusa xl. For enterpise uses i would get ultimaker instead.

Why a delta machine instead of a CoreXY?
@AcEkrystal
@AcEkrystal Год назад
"that virtually nothing moves", "all other parts are static". I dunno but this really crinched me... Delta has 7 moving parts compare to 3 for XYZ printers, + the mass is on really long sticks. I think they are maybe better on medium speeds, but I also think they will never become as fast as CoreXY printers without some major trick.

It's aimed at enterprises, the printer has a lot of convenience features built in and comes with installation support. For the average hobbyist/maker a MK3 is obviously the better choice -- But some businesses don't have the expertise/time to assemble a kit or hack together an enclosure out of IKEA furniture, they rather just spend the $ and have a product which can be operated with little prior knowledge.

TRILAB 3D printers are made of top-quality components and electronics. In addition to precise output, they also provide remote management and a wide range of connectivity options. Sophisticated printer controls ensure that the operator spends more time printing and less time setting up the machine. The DeltiQ 2 and AzteQ models are printed daily by companies in more than 30 countries around the world. They are most commonly used in areas such as industrial manufacturing, healthcare and design, where they also benefit from their 24/7 printing capability. Among other things, our customers appreciate the fact that we deliver the printer to them debugged and they can start printing right out of the box. Our products also include support. The price reflects the demanding requirements. However, it is at a very reasonable level in competition with other industrial 3D printers. And TRILAB printers are thus often an interesting solution for companies.

I don't see anything special, nothing modern or anything that justifies even a quarter of its price. another delta printer like so many others already on the market, (I bet the Flsun V400 wins it by a landslide !!) with linear guides, in fact it still opts for V6 which today is obsolete, mounts head exchange instead of mounting a simple Revo. duet interface that I imagine it covers with a simple board of 4 drivers. Today it's crappy, I don't see Klipper, I don't see Revo, I don't see direct extrusion with Orbiter or LGX or any reason for its exorbitant price-quality-functions. I don't understand what Prusa is doing getting into this business, lately he only makes agreements with other companies (which gives a lot to think about) instead of getting his promised XL out. Just ridiculous!!!!
